Episode 7: Hollywood Roaches
A newbie is tested with a pigeon job and joins Mike on one of the most disgusting roach jobs he has ever seen. Joey and the guys track down a family of rats living it up at a Hollywood studio. Mike boards a boat under siege by a hoard of hungry termites.

I hate how they are politically correct and say "its sad these people have to live like this".... when they see all those roached... thats gross.. Clean up after yourself, and stop pilling 15 illegals in a 1 bedroom apt, and you wont have that many roaches... thats gross, they need to be held responsible... the poor neighbors will have to clean the occasional roach because of them.. but no one clean would let it get that bad!!!!!

The "tech" used to control roach infestations that ISOTech is using is positively stone age. Even ten years ago when I worked in the field, Actisol and Deltamethrin were hardly the best ways to keep roaches under control. It looks good for a quick "kill", but pyrethroid (Deltamethrin) and pyrethrin (Actisol application) resistant roaches are anationwide phenomenon.
Deltamethrin does not "melt" the exoskeleton of roaches as stated in the show. Like all pyrethroids, it is a nerve agent, not agent orange, and enter the insects body through it's respiratory system, aka spiracles. Pyrethroids are not "safe" for mammals - once again, they are nerve agents, acting on the central nervous system. It has to do with mass/weight vs. percentage of active ingredient in solution. A high enough percentage of A.I., and the "safe" pesticide will be decidely unsafe. Folks, you can do a better job than Isotech using Combat gel w/ Fipronil to kill, an IGR like hydroprene or Nylar(sold as 'egg killers') to prevent reproduction, and a vacuum cleaner to clean up the bodies and fecal matter. It will take a bit longer to knock down the roaches, but the gels will control roaches for years, vs. a few weeks with spray n pay.

This is one gross show, however, I am impressed with how professional the workers from ISOTECH are when performing their jobs. It is nice to see hard working young men doing a great job - they are well spoken and professional. Our whole family watches the show and we really enjoy it. I hope I never need their services, but if I do, they would be the first on my list to help us out.

Everyone at work has been talking about the show and even our customers so I finally viewed it for the first time this weekend. Been in the exterminating business 17 years and all I can say is "THANK YOU DISCOVERY CHANNEL". I have seen our industry and workers represented as complete idiots for way too long. Verminators really shows what we do! Our job can be overwhelming at times and just plan sick for people to watch. Verminators represents our industry by far the best I've ever seen. For the previous poster saying that the method of using liquid residuals and pyrethroids is stone age...all I can say is "Get Real". If you had half a brain and the expertise you claim you would understand that for a quick knockdown nothing works better than liquid residuals and flushing agents. Also, it's a TV program. How exciting would it be to watch a tech inject bait into a crack and crevice and see nothing dying. How do you know the ISOTECH technician didn't return on the next visit and start applying bait? That's right, you don't know because you weren't there. Stop knocking the show that has probably brought you business because people are realizing pest problems really need to be taken care of by a professional.
We all will win with this show!
ISOTECH guys, your representing our industry in a fantastic way and the educational value is priceless. I will be a regular watcher and thanks for blazing a new path for our industry. Knock em' dead!

Great show! I also own and run a small pest control business in the Dallas area and have to say that I am very impressed with Isotech's professionalisam. Mike the head honcho is a true pro in every sence. He is what we look for in a tech, clean cut, well schooled in pest control. I only hope to have our company A.N.T.T.S = A North Texas Termite Specialist grow to be as big as Isotech is now and have half as many great people working for us. One thing I did see and do not Know if anyone else seen this and I could be wrong, but on the episode with the tech that loves to kill things against the enviromentalist who did not want to kill his rodents I seen what looked to be termite evidence in the attic. If you go to the point in the show where the tech goes into the attic at that moment in the show look at the rafter just by the attic enterance and I thought I saw a swarm castle in the roof rafter! Could be wrong but maybe they should check it out, lol..
