Congrats to Dempsey Del Piero Racing On A White Hot Fourth Place Finish!
All of us here at Velocity have been on the edge of our seats this weekend. Patrick Dempsey, Joe Foster and Patrick Long of Dempsey Del Piero Racing have been sweating it out in the 90th Anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans and we couldn’t be more proud of their competitive finish, just shy of the podium, with their fourth place GTE-AM finish. Patrick Dempsey and Patrick Long each led the race twice at points, and Foster raced in the top three.
Running the team’s No. 77 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, the all-American team fought an incredible battle in
what ultimately proved a dangerous and rainy race. According to a team release, Dempsey and the team is already eyeing next year:
“We were competitive the entire race,” said Dempsey. “This is really what you want to be. Patrick did a great job on his opening stint, Joe was incredible in what seemed like every session of his in the rain, and our Porsche from Proton Competition was perfectly prepared. It was just a great race, we came up just a little short on the podium, but we will reach that goal soon enough.”
Those of us here at Velocity don’t doubt how serious Patrick is about achieving that goal. Not only
has he proven it to the world the race he just finished, but he has also allowed cameras to document his road to get to the race as he juggles the demands of his acting career, being a loving family man, searching for sponsors, and most importantly putting in time on the track. Velocity will air his
journey with all the highs and lows, in a four part special Patrick Dempsey: Racing Le Mans on August 28 at 10|9c. Anyone who watches all that Patrick goes through will know that he and Team Dempsey Del Piero are as serious as they come about claiming a spot on the podium.
Congratulations Patrick and Team Dempsey Del Piero from all of us at Velocity. Keep up to date with Patrick Dempsey: Racing Le Mans here at Velocity.com as we continue to update you all summer.
