After a long day at the garage do you come home and turn on Overhaulin' and think to yourself "I can do that!"? If you do then listen up. Overhaulin' is working on a new season and we're looking for a few good men and women. Are you the best in the business at wiring, bodywork, fabrication, and general car assembly?
If you live in Southern California and would like to work alongside the legendary Chip Foose to help make dreams come true, now is the time. Please inquire below and be sure to include your resume and references!
Email: Applications.ovrhln2012@gmail.com

overhaulin needs to go back to its roots.
In season 1 back in 2004 you did everyday cars. Like "Pimp my ride" but with talent, class, and usefulness, you did a Ford explorer, a 88 chevy truck, I think you even did a Honda civic.
How many Mopar muscle cars or "Pony" cars can you do?
DO MORE "REAL" CARS!!!!!

Dear Overhaulin',
I met my husband Mark 22 years ago and at that time he had a 70 Mach 1 Mustang that he took me out for a ride in. I loved muscle cars and made a comment that he needed a shift kit in it and he said he fell in love with me that day . He told me he was going to restore it back to its original and had started the process. In less than a years time we married and he joined the Air Force. We left the car back in NY hoping to take it to our next duty station and start the restoration process. Fast forward 21 years, 9 duty stations, 14 homes, 3 children, and an impressive rank of Chief Master Sergeant in under 20 years, and still the car sits untouched and calling out our name. We have literally mourned the inability to get the car and restore it over the years, knowing that we would not be stationed anywhere long enough to do the project. At one point, parts of the Mustang were stolen off it, but amazingly found the person who stole them and got the parts back 2 years later! Last year we were able to make a trip back to NY to visit family and we pulled out the Mustang to look it over. I see potential and cling to the memories of Mark and I riding in it. I would love to be able to have a small part in giving to him his Mustang fully restored for all he does for me, our boys, all the active duty and family members he touches everyday.
Thank you so much,
Sharon

Mr. Foose,
I'm writing today to ask for your help, but also for an exception. You see, we aren't from Southern California, we're from the Great Garden State of New Jersey. I'm writing to nominate my friend Anthony and his 1970 Chevelle to be overhauled. Anthony bought the Chevelle as his first car at the age of 17. After an unfortunate accident a year later, he has spent the last 10 years trying to rebuild the car on his own. I can't quantify the amount of blood, sweat, and tears he has pumped into this car, but I know how near and dear to his heart this car is. Now at the age of 28 and with a steady job, the dream of full restoration looked to be realized, now having the money and some time to get it done. However, Hurricane Sandy destroyed his family's shore home, diverting the funding to the house and not the car.
It would mean so much for him to have the Chevelle overhauled. Anthony is one of the greatest people I know. He'd give the shirt off his back to help anyone who needed it. I think this would be a great way to give back to a guy who always gives all of himself to others.
Thanks, Chip!

Dear Mr.Foose,
My greatest wish would be for you to see this and consider doing what I cannot and that is giving my boyfriend a dream come true. He has a 1999 Pontiac firebird that he is in love with. He has been through so much this past year and a surprise like this would mean the world to him. The sudden unexpected passing of his brother has been difficult for him and life just seems to keep knocking him down right now. He tries so hard to maintain but I know things are hard for him and I know something like this would be encouraging for him. I wanted to take a chance and send this in hopes that you and your team of specialists would be willing to overhaul his firebird and give him something to smile about again. As I write this I am fighting back a few tears because I know how much something like this would mean to him and I want so badly for him to have something to celebrate right now. He loves cars, and he loves your show. Please consider him, His name is Jerry Lee Fox Jr. Thank you so much for your time.

Hi, A Team!
My wife has had a great career as a college English professor and administering the Learning Support program for what was then Gainesville State College, Gainesville, GA. After being married for a few years, we found a 1980 Mercedes 450SL. It was our baby! But, as Carol says, life is not a guided tour, but a journey without a map. Toward the end of her collegiate career she was diagnosed with a brain tumor. It was a non-cancerous meningioma. The surgery was successful, but the after effects have been anything but desirable. She suffers when the barometric pressure is high or there is a thunderstorm or lightning in the area. Now, she has been diagnosed with Type II diabetes. I've been out of work in my profession (corporate pilot) for about 2-and-a-half years and the 450 is gathering dust. I'd very much like to put the car into first class shape, clean up the engine and interior a little and make it driveable for her pleasure. I've got to say that Carol has done so much for so many people in her career. She has helped numerous students both Learning Support and non-LS, and I never met a faculty member or administrator who didn't admire her; they fawned over her when she wasn't around! She is a beautiful woman inside and out and she deserves a beautiful, classy ride!
Thanks

Dear Chip,
I am writing this for my grandson. He is 18 years old and graduating from high school. Next year he will be attending College in New York. I have been cringing at the thought of him driving his 1997 Olds/88 from Massachusetts. Last week the engine seized in his car that he put so much money into in the short year he has owned the car.
I am asking for restoration of his car as he is a very hardworking young man who has paid for everything on his own. Marc has always been on the honor role in School while being a member of 2 bands, the chorus, the acting club and the science club. At the same time Marc continues to work 2 jobs saving for his college education. There is no way he can find the funds to buy another and unfortunately due to a financial reversal, I am unable to help him.
Marc will be eternally grateful for your help. I know when he is able he will find a way to pay it forward. That’s the kind of person he is.
Gratefully yours,
Maryanne Lem

Chip, my first car was a 73 Camero. It was Midnight Blue with a blue plaid interior. It only had a straight 6 but everyone love to ride in it. I sold the car a long time ago but it is one thing I wish I never sold. I have a GM poster of the 73 Camero hanging in my living room. And the car in the poster is blue. This is out of your normal show but could you find one and build it for me? Thanks for your time.

Greetings to Chip and the A team!
Would like to know if you've ever left California to retrieve a car for renovation? We live in Southwestern Montana & have clear title to an 1968 Ford Galaxie 500 hard top. 302 2 bl. carburetor, original miles: 83241. Our question to you is this: Would you consider a rebuild with the intention for YOU to sell it, with proceeds going to the elderly former owner of the car? (She lives in a local nursing home.) Please let us know what you think. Thank you!!
Sincerely,
Al & MaryJo Perry

Dear Mr. Foose:
This is a very true story about my 2 sons Casey and Thomas. The boys always were crazy about early 90's Honda Civic hatch backs. Casey had a red one for a couple of years and both boys really liked the car. The boys were different except for the car. Well eventually it had so many problems it had to be replaced. When Thomas graduated high school he joined the Marine Corp and Casey was going to college without a car. Thomas had a buddy that was getting out and couldn't take his 91 Honda home so like Marine's do they sell to another Marine. Thomas was stationed at Edwards AFB in a reserve squadron of CH 46 Helicopter's and he really loved that Civic. Meanwhile Casey had a job and he needed a car. Well after a bunch of calls Tom sold him the car but no money changed hands yet. My wife and her mother flew to California and drove it home, needless to say Casey was in Hog Heaven but Tom missed his car. Casey was happy and Thomas found a non-Civic car.
Thomas got out of the Marine's in 2011 with no job lined up and a stack of refusals on job applications. He had a wife and a new baby boy and no job. So the first job he could get was as a helicopter mechanic in Afghanistan for one year. Casey had a downturn in finances and Thomas got the Civic back. The whole time he was there he looked forward to getting back to his little family and his Civic. He got home in August and Casey died in September on their little sister’s birthday. His death hit our family very hard and it is not over yet. One day you have a brother that really missed him and the next day he was gone.
All that Thomas thinks about is restoring the Civic he and his brother shared. My wife and I really believe that this Civic restored would honor the memory of our son Casey and Thomas' trying to get his life started and helping him put all of this behind him. Thomas is a good son, father, husband and a brother to the 2 sisters Casey left behind.
Thank you.
There is more to the story but I hope this will be enough to consider my plea to you. You will have our email address. I don't know how this process works, but I hope you will at least read this yourself and there is more truth to this story. Feel free to contact us if you want the rest of the story.
Sincerely,

Not sure how this works but here it goes. My dad raised three kids on his own for the most part. He was career Navy. He is the most giving and sacrificing person I know. He has been retired for years and still gives. He is a Shriner, the guys with the Red hats and drives mini cars in parades. He also drives little kids from Tijuana to LA once a week. He also is a CHP volunteer. If you can overhaul his F-150 that would be great. The thing is it is his daily driver. Not sure if this is possible but if you could overhaul his Mini Car too, I know that would bring him to tears. Thanks for taking the time for considering this request.

I was 18 & my son was 6 months old when I got locked up. Hes 29 now. Yeah, I did 29 years straight. I made some very poor & selfish decisions back then. During my time I got to see my son once every 4 or 5 years. Needles to say our relationship wasn't the best. I couldn't be the dad he needed me to be no matter how bad I wanted to be. We knew that we were father & son, but we but never developed that bond. The day I got out, he was there for me, his dad. My son wanted me in his life, he wanted me. I can't tell you how proud I am of him... This was 6 months ago. I got to spend a few hours with him that day, & I haven't been able to see him since. You see, he lives in Bakersfield & im in Sacramento. I can't travel, & his car, well, as bad as he wants to come up his car, its a Nissan I believe, isn't as reliable as he'd like to drive up here. I've watched your show a time our two, & well, I was wondering if you could help my son with his car. It would mean the world to him if you could help him, & help my son come up to see me. He & I talk over the phone all the time. I don't wasn't anything for me, no cameras, no nothing. I just would like your help in fixing up my sons car so that we could make up for lost time, so that I could give my son what hes always wanted; his dad.

p.s. Sorry for all the misspellings, I don't have a computer & ion writing this on my phone.

My son-in-law,Carlos,is a hugh fan of Chip Foose. He started rebuilding cars with his grandfather at a young age. When his grandfather passed away, they had already started rebuilding an old truck. I don't know the specifics of this truck, just that it has been moved from one garage to the next waiting to be finished. Carlos is a mechanic and works long hours. His dream is to one day actually finish this truck. We often joke about it being "stolen" to get overhauled. It would be great if you would consider helping him achieve his dream!!! Thanks!

May 11,2013 Velocity - My wife has a "79 MGB that has been sitting under our carport for over a yr. So far all we've done is put in a new ignition swith & a new battery. She used to have aniother 1979 MGB in 1982, but had to sell it for money to take care of her Mom who had alazheimers. This car is supposed to have a fresh engine in it & new tires. It badly needs you to overhaul it. Thje body is straight with some minor issues & all 3 tops are good. The trunk lid is the worst. It's had it's luggage rack removed & there is some bondo work on it. I think someone tried to slam it w/o releasing the catch 1st & twisted it. My wife had 3 back surgeries in 190 - 1991 & 1993 due to a work injury. She lifted a badly bleeding 250 lb. man, when she worked as a Nurse at the VA Hospital. She did pretty good for a while until the fall of 2006. we we're riding with our motor cycle club & stopped for gas. I had an 2004 HD Ultra Classic. When she went to get off the bike , she tripped & fell , hitting her upper back on one of those steel posts they put around the gas pumps, broke off one side of a vertebrae facet. She was recommended to our home town back surgeon (BAD MISTAKE) by our bone & joint clinic.She had a back surgery in Oct.2007, & his P.A. came into the room & said they BROKE off the other side so they could do a laminectomy. At that time we we're going to the gym 3-5 times per week. She said her back felt unstable & the Dr. said he'd have to fuse it. So she had another back surgery on Dec.17th,2007. The cage broke & pieces of it fell into her spinal canal causing unbearable pain. They did an MRI & found out what happened, so they took her back to surgery on DEC.27th,2007, & redid her back fusion. They said they were sure they got all the cage pieces out of her spinal column, & the Dr. came into her room& said I DID MY VERY BEST!They kicked us out of the hospital at 9pm on Dec31st (due to an insurance change by my company). Since then she's had almost NO quality of life. She laid in the bed or in the recliner on heating pads & took pain pills & cried almost conmstantly. I'm totaly disabled with my own back, but I've been trying to take care of her ever since. We;
've gone to two other Back Specialist to see if there is something else that can be done for her, to no avail. Her Left leg is numb on the inside from her groin area to her foot. The out side of her left leg is in constsnt pain along with her left foot. She has nerve damage & walks with a cane. Her right leg hurts all the time, & her back hurts from between her shoulders all the way down. , But she can still drive. I've been wathing OVERHAULIN for a little over a yr.& now she she's interested & watches with me. The fuel pump in her car is messed up & the only time we;ve heard it run is when some one sqirts gas into the carb. for a very short period of time. If you could over haul her car, it would give her something else to think about, besides hurting all the time. She's a convertable nut. She & I restored a 1968 Pontiac Le Mans convertable. It took us 4 yrs. Cash flow had a lot to do with it, since we're trying to live on Social Security. We had planned to do the same thing with this MGB, but she said it's her car & she wants to do it, so you can see the fix I'm in. No money for the restoration& her pain level keeps her from doing much of anything, & she doesn;t want me to do it for her. If there's ANY way you could do this for her, we both would be eternally grateful. We both love your show. Thanks for your consideration to ALL the people you've already restored. Thank You ever so much. Don Godwin 721"O" st SW Ardmore,Okla.73401 (580)226-6178 e mail - don_73401@yahoo.com

I would like to submit my husband Joel for your Overhaulin' project. Joel is a Chevy fanatic, and has several "project" cars in our yard in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He has a '66 Chevy Biscayne that he bought off E-Bay about 10 years ago, no engine, no transmission with a dream to make it a Pro Touring car. Unfortunately, Joel suffers from some pretty serious back issues. He had an injury in his late 20’s that got progressively worse as time wore on. He had an experimental disc replacement several years ago that has helped, but t is still necessary for him to get facet block shots into his vertebrae every 2-3 months to help manage his pain. He is not a complainer, but I know his back keeps him from many of his previous hobbies and passions, as well as truly attacking the project in the back garage. We recently relocated to Truth or Consequences to work for the school District of Hatch, and he had to leave his projects back in Albuquerque. I know he still wants to finish his dream, but as time marches on, that dream is fading. We love watching Overhaulin', and think your whole team and Mr. Foose are true artists. I would love if you could help his dream come true.

My wife is in the Army as I am prior service, she bought her 99 GMC Yukon when she came home from Afghanistan, unaware of the lack of maintenence that had been done to the suv, I have done a lot of it trying to catch it up, but with a new baby on the way along with me having a child from a preovious relationship and my physical health issues from the military, she has been so awesome in helping me in doing everything she can to help me get custody of my son and has taken him in as her own. If anyone I know deserves to have there car overhauled it would be my wife Kayla. Please help

Chip Foose, Et Al. I have a real challenge for you ...a 1993 CHEVY G20 CONVERSION VAN. My son and his girlfriend bought this van 5 years ago with the intention of making one road trip and selling it as soon as they came home. They fell in love with the van and have vowed to visit all of our National Parks in it. They hit a deer on one of their trips and that took out the air conditioner which has made subsequent trips rather uncomfortable. They have seen several of the parks but have had to put trips, and their marriage, on hold until Andy finishes his product design studies at Columbia College Chicago. Andy enjoys your show and has commented, several times, how nice it would be to have the van OVERHAUL'D. This would definitely be a challenge/break for you and your team. Give it some thought ...it could be fun.

Hi Chip and crew, We were watching overhaulin and immediately thought of our son, Jeff, to be overhauled. He works as a mechanic at an automobile dealership, coaches wrestling, helps his kids with all sorts of projects, helps his neighbors when he gets home and assists his family with lots of projects including their local foodbank. The car is a 1972 Dodge Charger that my husband Rick bought from his uncle in California. We gave it to our son Jeff and he has moved it four times until he and his wife, Pennie and their two kids bought their home in Kamiah, Idaho. He does so much for so many people, and little for himself. He keeps saying that he would like to fix it up, but never has enough time or money to do it. It would mean the world to us if you could overhaul him. We could bring the car over to our place in another town and he would never be the wiser. Boy would he be shocked!
