We’ve Got Epic Willy’s Jeep Videos!
11/14/2012
In honor of tonight’s Wheeler Dealers at 9p E/P, where Mike brings home a wartime Willy’s Jeep we’ve got a little history on the plucky little vehicle that was churned out by the thousands to serve in multiple wars and is such a part of our culture they have been collected and modified through the years.
The Willys MB US Army Jeep (formally the Truck, 1/4 ton, 4x4) was manufactured from 1941 to 1945. These small four-wheel drive utility vehicles are considered an iconic machine during World War II and the Korean War. It is beloved for its no quit capabilities and the subject of many jokes – such as the famous scene in the TV series MASH where Hawkeye jokes that Rizzo is mailing a Jeep home piece by piece. Who wouldn’t want one at home? That’s why it inspired many other light utility vehicles and was evolved by Jeep into the “CJ” or civilian Jeep.
While there may well be tons of Jeep’s out there – who knows what condition they are in. Something tells me that Edd is going to face some issues with the Jeep Mike brings him tonight. One can only imagine what the plucky little vehicle has been through.

Willy’s Jeep Rat Rod…Oh Yeah!
Plus, we'll leave you with some classic Wheeler Dealers to tide you over until a new episode airs tonight at 9p E/P.

Velocity is probably the channel I'm tuned to most of the time, but get rid of that lame show Motorweek and has been for years. It's unwatchable!

It's amazing you go to their website and it's all about car shows but they have more nature shows than car shows. Who's the brain surgeon that screwed up our car channel? Bring back our channel and find another channel for nature shows.

I would love to watch these shows but I do my watching during the daytime hours and you don't show them during that time. Maybe I can get a refund for not being able to view what I pay for "HALF" of the time.

I absolutely agree with Fidel. I watch Velocity for all the car shows not to see more nature stuff. Please show that where people care and go back to the car stuff regardless of how many times it's repeated.

Please tell Ms. Eileen Marable that the Jeep in question is a WILLYS, not a "Willy's". Willy had nothing to do with the Jeep.
Also, let her know the difference between plural and possessive. To wit:
"While there may well be tons of Jeep’s out there"

Please tell whoever decides what to put on the schedule to put on more car shows such as Wheeler Dealers. This show and other car shows are the reason I love watching Velocity. But please stop showing shows about Life and Nature! It's irrevelant to what the network is suppose to be dedicated to showing. It's good informational shows just not for a car network. Take the world poker tour off also please!
