Chip, I purchased a 1976 Camaro LT some years ago. I was told that it was in Hot Rod Mag. I would like to restore it to that condition, but can not find it in the archieve. Even when I removed the rear louvers it had NHRA stickers from 1977. Is there any way I can research that information since the internet was not around?

Chip Foose: On Overhaulin you overhauled a 1965 Impala. I liked the way you re-did the rear bumper from a three piece to one single bumper. I am in the process of completing a full off body restoration on my 1965 Impala SS and would like to have my rear bumper completed as you did for the 65 in Overhaulin. Is there a shop i can have this work done at or does your facility do this for walk-in customers?
I just re-purchased my 1965 Impala SS, ten years ago I had to sell my Impala to keep from losing our home. The person I sold it too stripped it down and let it go. I was able to re-buy it and am now in the process of trying to restore the car to its orginal state with some custom modifications.

For 30 years, my father has put his needs last and put our family first. He has sacrificed a lot of things by putting my brother and me through college and paying our tuition so that we wouldn’t start life without debt. My dad has talked for years (even before he had kids) about restoring this truck to its original condition. I remember as a little girl hearing my dad talk about the truck and how proud he was of the “candy apple red” color. I can also remember when I was little, riding in the truck over at my grandmother’s house in her field and seeing the little boy come out in my father. It was like he was 16 again! When I was pregnant with my son we had a horrific scare on my father’s health. In May, I was expecting his first grandchild and in March he presented to the hospital emergency room with a headache for the past 7 days. After several tests and scans, they told my father he had a brain tumor. Fortunately, the doctors told us it was an operable tumor. Ever since that day, I’ve been wanting to do something special for him to show him that I don’t take him for granted and that I appreciate everything he has done for us. Now that we are grown with kids of our own I would like to repay his generosity with redoing his truck. He bought this specific year of the truck because it was the year he was born. Coincidentally, he will be celebrating his 60th birthday this October. I would like to do this as a surprise birthday gift to him and present it in front of all of our family and friends. The truck is currently parked at my grandmother’s old home in Matthews, NC. She passed away in 2010 but the truck remains in the backyard in a covered carport behind the home. You cannot see the carport from the road so unless my dad went over to the house with the intentions of looking for the truck, he would never know it was missing. If you would give us this opportunity, we would be forever grateful!

My name is Aaron Rollins I have a special request for overhauling. My wife was hit by a drunk driver while walking. She was thrown 36ft face down in a ditch full of water. The driver left her, but luckily two friends witnessed and turned her face up. She was air lifted to the hospital with a ruptured spleen and lacerated liver all of the tabs on bothside of the spine are broken and where her spine connectes to her pelvis was torn apart on the right side and her pelvis was shattered in about 6 places. After several surgerys and being flown to two hospitals she is able to walk with a cane she can drive but is not able to peform her job that she loved as a Dental hygeniest that she has done since graduating from WVU in 1999. She has alot of pain and has come along way since she was hit June 24th 2010. Her faith in God is very strong. My request is I have a 68 fire bird that my father bought when I was 14 that I blew the motor up in 1991. My father gave me the car in 1999 when I got married it was a local car my father was the second owner never parked out side great body no rust 89,000 miles in 2001 I had a 1970 455 bilt although I still have the original 350 big block that only spun a bearing. Long story short still in garage. My request is to give this car to my wife after Chip and the A team has turned the car I have loved since a child and the hot rod of my dreams into her dreams girly fied. She knows I love this car almost as much as her. She would probably tell you I love it more than her. I would do anything for this to be possible. She is a wonderful woman a beautiful mother to our two children 8 and 9 and an amazing wife who deserves so much more. Thank you for your consideration.
Your friend Aaron Rollins

Hi Chip,
My name is Melissa, and my father has had a Pickup Ford 1936, that is modified, for over 25 years. Because of life circumstances, he has not been able to repair it, and I would like to know how I can nominate him into the program. If I could have some feedback I would greatly appreciate it.
Thank you!

Ive tried to submit this through the Overhaulin site but the screen goes blank and I cant resize the video small enough. Is there an email I can send this to?
1973 Chevrolet Nova Custom Hatchback 307 ci. I bought it when I was 15 (23 yrs ago). It had 17k original miles on it. It has 45,248 miles. It was running up until two years ago when it was stolen. Body is in bad shape.
I was hoping you would take my car, do your thing, and give it to a wounded veteran, donate it to the Wounded Warrior Project so they can raffle it off, or have Overhaulin' or Chip Foose raffle it off and donate the proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project. I never have and never will have the $$ to fix it up. I dont want to junk it. I can sell it for a profit but I would much rather have it go to someone who deserves to enjoy it or someone who wants to donate money to help our wounded warriors. I would love give my car away for a good cause than instead of a profit from a sale especially when there are so many veterans who deserve to enjoy life after making the sacrifice in defending our country.

Thank you

Hi Overhaulin Artists,
My name is Camille and I am writing on behalf of my husband, Kevin. Kevin has re-watched every show now available on Netflix in the last week. He and I both are total fans and are constantly amazed at the artistry and genius of the work of all the crew of Overhaulin.
Mr. Foose your work is just amazing and inspired.
My husband is a longshore man, a crane operator, on the waterfront of Seattle and because of illness he had to retire 3 years ago. He loved what he did and having to retire and dealing with his illness has sent him into a terrible depression. He was considered the best crane operator on the west coast, and it killed his spirit to retire at his prime.
He has hinted to me so many times how great it would be to have his old 72 ford truck or 91 volkswagon van fixed up, but with energy and funds at a minimum, it is impossible. I think he would probably like the truck more, but thought I'd leave the option opened to you with which vehicle would be more interesting to you to transform.
I realize you get all kinds of requests and my story is no more important than so many others out there, but I feel the lift he would receive from getting a work of art from the Foose tribe, might be just what he needs to see there is always hope and life is worth living again. I would ask kindly that you just consider his truck or van as a future project. Never hurts to ask. If it is meant to be, it will happen. I thank you for your consideration in my request, and pray all kinds of blessings on all of you. We, my husband and I, both feel what you have done for so many people is very admirable and every piece you have overhauled is a work of art. God bless you all.
With warmest thanks,
Camille Fredericksen.

Hey Mr. Foose,
I know that this is a long shot but I think that it is worth a shot. My name is Noah Smith and about 17 years ago my grandparents took me in as my parents were no longer able to care for me. My grandparents started me into horses and brought me into a group called Westernaires. My grandfather has been a huge supporter for me and showed me the true value of hard work. I would like to repay him but as I m just growing my knowledge into the car business I am very over my head. My grandfather has a 1948 Chevy Fleetline Coupe that my Great Uncle Ed owned and gave to him before he passed away. Ed, bought the car for his daughter after a few years of driving the car, since it was bought off the showroom floor. We have all the original paperwork, plates, engine, even the keys! My grandfather has taught me so much about hard work, love, girls, and so much more. If it is even possible to get your help with this car I would be SO appreciative. We have so many plans for this car and I know exactly what he would want for this car. If this is possible please contact me.
Thank you for your time,
Noah Smith

My husband has a 70 Charger that he bought about 3 years ago. He thinks I hate it but I don't (not as much as he thinks antway)he's always talking about doing this and that to it and putting on parts that I don't even know what they are. As long as I've known him he's always talked about Charger this and Charger that. Back in September he took it to a shop to have some transmission work done and they wrecked it and for the last 3 months they've been giving him the run around as far as getting it fixed and he's been noticably agitated about it, a month ago he took it to a body shop that they recomended and it's been there for over a month while he's waited to have them fix it. The weather has changed since it's been there and he's constantly worried about it beeing rained on, frosted on or messed with by thieves or vandals. I don't know why he worries about it so much but he does, anyway our 10 year anniversary is coming up and I thought it would be really awesome to see his reaction after the car has been done over by a professional who knows what they are doing he loves watching car shows where they do that especially on Dodges. I don't know how his nerves would hold up if the car were to be "stolen" like on the show but it might be kind of fun to watch.

Hi, My name is Irene and I'm writing to you from Dayton, Nevada. I would like to nominate my husband to get his car overhauled. He has an 81 Honda Civic. There have only been 2 owners, my husband is the second. I'm disabled. My husband is the best man I know. He's taken care of our son and I without complaint for years. I even gave him the option to run. He declined. I would give him the world if I could but the only thing he cares for besides his family is his Honda. We had a horrid storm a few years ago that threw our gazebo into his car. Scratching it terribly. She's starting to have mechanical issues and needs a face lift something awful. She's still looks kind of good, but not like she used to. We also need this little car because of the price of fuel today. It's the most economical for him as he commutes to Reno every day 5 and 6 days a week. He's a proud man and I couldn't have created a more perfect man for myself. I love him so much and want to give him a gift like this. It would be an honor to be chosen. I hope you'll give us your consideration. Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Irene Wood

Last September I lost my daughter to a heart attack she was pregnant and baby weighed 51/2lbs.but he didn't live either. She has a son that just turned 16 he's honor roll and a great kid .His Dad moved him to Gilmer,Texas. I'm the grandmother and we have a 1968 Catalina Pontiac with 55,000 original miles on it and we want it for Chase. It's in good condition just needs some loving care. The seats are original but steering wheel is broken and I'm not sure about the motor. It belonged to my husbands Uncle and has been kept in garage and them under carport here in Texas.
His Dad doesn't help him with things and my husband had a heart stent in September but we would like to get the car fixed for him. Before things got so expensive and I lost my job we were going to fix it but my husband isn't able and here it sits. This boy never asks for anything and always cares for others so I guess I' m asking for help or what we could do. I have a nephew that might could help some and if I could do anything to help I will and Chase would to. Right now the car is here at Springtown, Texas and Chase has to walk or find a way to school and he doesn't have anything to drive. His other Grandmother is real sick and cannot help him at all
I hope a little of this makes some sense andbyounwould consider helping us or pointing UsiN some kind of direction.
Thank you so much for your time and most of all for the wonderful things you do to help so many. My grandsons Chase his number is 940-536-5465,my husbands cell is 817-694-0414 and my cell number is 682-239-8792. I don't have a computer right now but have this IPad to use. Thank you again, sincerely, Judy Byrd ( Chase's Meme') my email is JKB 1660@aol.com. Thanks so much again for all you do for others.

Hi Chip, Jessi and Chris,
This summer I was able to help my Stepson retrieve a 69 Chevy C10 short box fleetside pickup from his Dad, who had been driving this previously as a shop truck for some years until approx. 1996 when he decided to disassemble and make it his own project. This was my Stepson's Great Grandfathers original pickup that he drove as a shop truck for the family business. I thought this 4th generation pickup was well worth traveling 1300 miles to get from him to keep it in the family, since his Dad no longer had the money or drive to complete it. It is mostly rust free, but missing the motor, radiator and grille now. My Stepson is a Senior in our State University College majoring in the film program and the truck is stored in a location where he is seldom at. The 4th generation pickup would make a special build, plus a twist could be him as a guest in the film crew when it was unveiled. He has been traveling to film for some local film companies, so he has had lots of experience. This might make an interesting episode, so I thought I would write to share my thoughts with all of you. Love the show and especially the emotions that you create and show yourselves.
Thanks, Mike

It is great to be able to see the show again. I had seen that you were back on the Velocity Channel at my buddy Joe's, I don't get that channel so it is good you are on Discovery!!!
I used to watch evey show in the reruns and just sit & wish how I could have my truck done... Hey, a guy can dream, can't he!
I used to build race cars and I miss working on stuff.
I was a truck driver for almost 30 years and about7 years ago I was crushed between 2 trailers at work and now with the back & rib problems, I can no longer work on my truck. I hate always having to go to Joe's and ask for help! He never says no!!!
Now I'm even more disabled with bad lungs & legs. I've been trying to get SSDI for over 4.5 years! I live out in the sticks with my 91 year old father! Talk about feeling 15 all over again!
Any way, keep up the great work. You know I won't miss a show!!! Thanks for allowing me to dream. Too bad Jackson, Michigan is so far from L.A.! I'd love to see more of Chip's work...
Take care and I will see you next week... (on my TV!)

Mr Foose, my son has a 1976 Chevy Monte Carlo, 350 2 barrel, all original, 35000 miles. He bought the car after saving his money when he was 17. He is now 20 working full time and doing his online college for his bachelor's degree with Johnson and Wales Univerity which he is saving/paying for himself. He works 40-55 hours a week, he has his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from JWU and chose to stay home to work to continue for his Bachelor's Degree. He so much wants to get his car painted with maybe a little more horsepower in the engine. He has been working with me, I am self employeed, since he was six years old. Riding and helping me with my business. I am thankful and blessed each and everyday for my family. We are just your typical family all working together. I would love to surprise him with an "Overhaul". It would be one of his dreams with his old school car. If you are ever in New Jersey and would be interested, that would make a respectful, hard working 20 year old's dream come true. Thank you very much.

Hey Guys. I'm writing this for my father. He bought a 1988 Land cruiser about 12 years ago and it was a project for the two of us to work on. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with ALS about 6 years back. We were able to get some things done to it,and working along side him is one of the better memories I have, but our financial situation doesn't allow me to do it myself to surprise him with. I am his sole care taker and Only child. I can't find many ways to bring much joy to him, and I know seeing the cruiser fixed (and getting to meet the man himself, Chip Foose) would be the best gift I could think of.

I would like to see if Overhauled ever comes to NC, and how I could nominate my husband/ his car to be overhauled. He had to close his business and filed bankrupt due to the ecomony and all this was over whelming to him. He has been working very hard to rebuild with little time to work on his car, which I was able to buy back at aution. A 71 Roadrunner which needs to be put back together/restored but I have all the parts. :) We love your show and I would love to share our story and if all possible give him the surprise of a lifetime. Thanks

My nephew is a 25 year old soldier who has been in the military for 8 years and getting ready to be deployed to Afghanistan for the 3rd time. He has shipped me his 65 Mustang because of the lack of funds to be able to ship it to his new post. He is currently stationed in Hawaii with his wife and 5 children. A 6 year old daughter Zowie and his 4 year old quadruplets 3 girls and a boy. He bought the car from his father in law but, has never been able to do anything with it because of the lack of funds and I would love to find out how to send in an application to have his car overhauled while hes in Afghanistan.
Thank you,

My husband has a 1978 original smokey and the bandit Pontiac Trans Am. He had gotten this car when he was 16 years old and now 25 years later he cannot part with it. He loves this car so much that I wanted to reach out to someone to see if they can help me restore this car back to new. With him working 2 jobs and not having the time or money to fix his car. I would give anything to be able to do this for him and give back to him for everything he does to support his family.
