Dear Mr. Foose,
My name is Linda Stennis, and I am writing this letter in hopes that you will consider doing an overhaul for my husband’s car. My husband’s name is Grover, and he is a kind, and generous man. Grover is selfless and rarely does anything for himself. He is such a gentleman, in that he does not allow me to buy for him.
Grover owns a 1974 Plymouth Satellite Sebring Plus, that he bought in 1974 (brand new) and he has held on to it since purchasing it. He recently retired after working for 38 years, and also retired from the Air Force also. While in the military he used the car to travel to all of his military assignments. The car acquired a great amount of history during Grover’s service to his country. He has dedicated much of his life in giving and insuring the safety of his family, community and this wonderful country!
Now that Grover Is retired, he is beginning to work on the Satellite, and I can see signs of his frustration while working under the hood of his car. With his retirement came less money, and it is difficult for him to get the work that the car needs done. He has done a lot of things to his car over the years, but now there are things that need to be done, that our budget will not allow.
I was walking through the family room while Grover was watching your program. Which by the way, he enjoys VERY MUCH, when I was inspired to write you this letter. I do not know what else I might have to do, but I hope this letter is the beginning of being able to make the Satellite Grover’s dream car once again!
Grover has given so much of himself, and never asks of expects anything in return. I am also retired, and I would love to get some assistance to help him get his car together. It saddens me that I cannot afford him the luxury of getting his car in the running in the state that would be pleasing to him. For a man that is always willing to sacrifice his needs to meet the needs of others, I am grieved that I cannot do something so small for him.
I would be eternally grateful if you would help me get my husband’s car at the point that would make him happy. I would be so humbled to know that I was able to give so much to a person that has given me so much and never, never asked, or expected anything in return. I am not trying to repay my husband. I would love for him to drive his car more, and see it as he saw it when he purchased it in 1974!
I am attaching a picture of the Satellite with this letter. My Email address is stn421@gmail.com and my mailing address is at the top of this letter. Would you please, please consider helping me, surprise my husband with getting his car overhauled? I extend to you my thanks, and hopefully I will hear from you soon!
Hopefully,
Linda Stennis

They should interrogate Gitmo detainees by making them watch Velocity shows.
They would crack like raw eggs.

And one more time cuz I feel strongly about this, BRING BACK SAW DOGS please!! I like the reruns and all that but I'd really like to see new episodes. I'm guessing it was cancelled for some reason but I think it should be rebooted cuz my friends family and myself love the show, i mean theres another channel with a rip off of that show and its still on WTF saw dogs is much better again just a thought from a concerned and loyal velocity viewer thanks for doing what yall do... creating great television for the gear heads out here.

Why am I paying extra for a CAR Channel, that is full of NON-CAR shows? I was sooo happy to pay extra for Velocity when it was wall to wall CAR Shows...... Like a CAR Channel should be! When all of a sudden Nat. Geo/Discovery Shows are playing? Why? And the repeats, I mean come on! Thats what Hulu and the like are for, and free to boot! Time to lower /cut my $$$ cable bill if this is what I'm being charged extra for!!!! Less drama in Graveyard Cars and more restoration! Wheeler Dealers is the BEST!!!!!!!! Car Movies would be great filler too! NOT REPEATS of shows I missed on purpose the first time.

Programing by the Corporations seem stuck on re-runs. The consumer is willing to pay to watch what was free, with commercials. In fact most shows are now just a commercial.
TV has the ability to inform and change the world through educational programing, but has chosen to fill the air waves with junk. We have new big screen TV's and nothing worth watching.
The audience is much smarter then it was 20 years ago, so please rise to the level of current technology and give us some good educational programing.

I have a fishing trip I do every May. We sail a 42 ft catamaran from St Augustine to Cape Lookout in the Gulf Stream, 500nm. We run up to 10 lines at a time trolling for Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna and etc. Could you please email me offline and tell me how to contact Velocity about doing a story on this. I wrote an article with nice pictures for a magazine a couple of years ago and think a clever person could put together a nice one off show about the experience and catching big fish on a sailboat .

Hi,my father just recently turned 65 years old. He worked all his life in the automitve industry (mechanic). So the man loves cars/trucks. Back in 1978 he purchased a 78 Chevy Truck custom delux. I remember as kid riding in the back and going on vaction with my sister and my parents. But soon it all eneded my parents divorced and my father and mother parted. My parents both went there way but my father managed to keep his truck wich he loved so much. My father went through some hard times and for a few months his address was 78 chevy truck. I am embarrase telling this story but I feel this is the only way that I can save my fathers truck. It is now 35 years later and my fathers health has finally caught up to him. He no longer can operate his truck. His truck is a stick shift and has no power steering. On top of that, on January 24 my father had a total right knee replacement. Its been tough seeing my father struggle with his surgery and knowing that he needs his left knee down also,he decided to hand the truck over to me. He said, son take my truck I no longer am strong enough to operate the truck. I asked my father, what should I do with it? He said, what ever you want. I knew the minute he gave it to me that I was not going to get rid of it. It meant to much to him and that truck provided shelter for my father through his worst times in life. Now its just a race against time, trying to get my father healthy and trying to work on the truck. Despite that the truck is in my hands this truck will forever belong to my father. So here I am racing time and trying to work on his truck, but its tough. Wont give up until I have my father riding shotgun in his own truck again. Thanks for listenting everybody.

So since there is a Television show called King of Crash, can you tell them which derbys to go to? If so, this is to the Velocity network. There are a ton of Derby people in Montana. These derbys are crazy and there are more people who build cars to go to these than the television show. Velocity channel should check it out. These people that build the cars are really good. A whole lot better than these people on your show. So come check it out, one derby is in Havre, MT and Chinook, MT.

All the automotive related networks seem to be stuck in endless reruns of a half dozen episodes, or have plain abandoned motor related programming altogether (automobile and motorcycle). Most of the casualties are the restoration or modification shop shows. Velocity, Speed, they have all gone way down hill. the DIY network had many auto related programming. Now it is endless bathroom and kitchen renovations. I really enjoyed watching them all, now I check the programming guide and shut the TV off.
Face it, boys and girls, the reason is ratings. Poor ratings means reduced sponsorship. Advertizers will not spend money on low rated programming, or if they do not see a return on the investment in terms of increased sales.
Oddly, Spike's Powereblock seems to move ahead. Lucas Oil bought the MAV channel. Good luck to them. It cost extra, so I will likely not see it.
I don't know the answer, but somehow we are not collectively putting our money and eyeballs where our mouth is.
Given the comments provided by others, I wonder if anyone at the network even reads this stuff. I'd like to see a reply from them.

Finally sick of paying extra money for VELOCITY. I used to almost never swtch the channel from VELOCITY, now HISTORY has better car programming. SPEED carries Barret Jackson auctions. Just cancelled the package that gave me your channel. Others should do the same. Thereis better and more car programming on channels that dont evev claim to be that. What a shame. People should reconsider employing whoever is in charge of programming. Good bye. Thanks for the old programming, I Did enjoy it in the past.

WTF... I pay extra to Dish thru Blockbuster to get auto shows and programming. I pay the whole friggin $200 per month bill I like cars. Put some some new auto related programming on or I will not only stop watching Velocity but I will cancel DISH does it get any clearer? Stop with the guys walking thru the woods SHIZZZ!

why wont someone give us an answer to why velocity has changed to a nature network . Itused to be great!
Posted by: Paul Harvey | 02/15/2013 at 04:01 PM
velocity recently you have changed your daytime line up to animal shows and nature documentaries. I like these kind of shows as much as the next person, but if i am going to watch them i will turn on animal planet. Volocity your a car channel, please bring back the car shows. here is a line from your what is velocity statement,"Established in Late 2011, this turbocharged channel Upgrades HD Theater's Car Programming with Diverse New Original Series and Specials". lets live up to that.

I am wondering with SpeedTV not covering any motorcycle racing this year if Velocity has thought about adding MotoGP, World Superbike, and AMA racing to your lineup to go along with the Isle of Man coverage.

my diretv does not have this channel were do i do see the show graveyard carz?
Posted by: gregory a knaub | 02/12/2013 at 09:05 PM
I thought this was the Velocity by Discovery, Velocity being the key word here.. Most of the day it's nature programing. That is not quite why I subscribed to this channel. Also I don't want to see 15 hours in a row of graveyard, chasing classic, meecum, or wheeler. Get some new stuff of run some classic black and white reruns once in a while, old car and bike racing, spice it up or just get a new program director. Give us something exciting.
Posted by: John Guilfoyle | 02/11/2013 at 09:08 PM
What happened to this channel. If I wanted to watch a special about wildlife I will flip to Discovery channel. But that's not what I want to see on Velocity. Too bad it was a good idea, I now find myself switching to other programs. Get back to your roots or it will not last, try listening to your viewers before you loose them all.
