I don't consider myself a fashion expert..but isn't the whole idea of enjoying fasion and clothes in general to build up your own style..and wear things how you see them fit..

Linda Barkin... I am no fashion expert, I am not sure if anyone else has given you an opinion here... I would say... nude colored stockings and silver shoes with any shade of purple is the way to go.
Even if you have dye-to-match shoes, I would go nude stockings.
Hope that helps.

OK... Just finally watched the episode with the jazz singer, "Christine."
Christine was BEAUTIFUL, and Stacey, Clinton and Carmindy worked magic.
Ted? DEFINITELY fell waayyyyy short of expectations. As a matter of fact, I could have done a better job on her hair.
Ted did not lift the color enough, and, as a result, her darker roots had an orange hue when he was done. And... because of the way he cut it... her hair looked way bigger, and it does not appear that Ted used any product to define the curl.
Nick Arrojo would have definitely nailed the color and tamed that mane much better.
After Ted... well, Christine's hair looks like mine when I wake up.
Christine was beautiful, though.
PLEASE BRING NICK BACK!

Nick wasn't creative enough....As much as a bob is great on many people it was over used. Color also was a mundane. I am thankful for the change, Carmande is darling, but her hair is a mess. It looks over processed and lacks depth. She needs some low lights Stacey is always spot on and Clinton is a doll.

Please, please, please tell me what kind of hosiery to wear. I live in Ohio, it's January, I am in my fifties and have no desire to go bare legged. I am wearing a purple cocktail dress for my daughters wedding on Jan. 30. What do I put on my legs?
Posted by: linda barkan | 01/06/2010 at 04:15 PM
I have to jump on the "Bring Nick Back" bandwagon. I'm sure Ted is good at what he does, but he's about as exciting as watching paint dry. What it feels like is that he was brought on board because he isn't the type to make waves. Nick was committed to trying to give everybody the /best/ possible style for their hair type, their face shape, and their lifestyle. Ted is not that fearless, which translates to me as not really that passionate about his work.
Posted by: Tess | 01/05/2010 at 09:20 PM
I miss Nick also! I have curly hair & I loved it when he demonstrated both a curly style and blowing the hair straight. I usually have my hair in soft curls using a blower-brush. Is that out of style? I also have a question re. hosiery. I don't see anyone wearing hose on the show. Why is that? Is it just bare legs or leggings now? My legs are so white, I think they look much better in hose & so I wear hose but I'm curious about what Stacey & Clinton think is best. I absolutely love the show & it has become a favorite. Love everyone on the show. I'd like to know more about both Stacey & Clinton & their backgrounds. The show is much more than a fashion show, it's life-changing for some and I love that about it. Good job!

LOVE this show. LIVE for this show.
However, the hair segments, which I used to look forward to... now lack any sort of personality or energy. Ted has a very mundane, monotone BORING approach.
I LOVE Nick's personality... he is sooooo missed on this show. PLEASE BRING HIM back.
Nick always made sure people had easy-to-manage hair after the show, that would look great with minimal effort. That is what the show is all about!
Ted is too complicated, expensive and has a boring personality.
PLEASE BRING NICK BACK.
Carmindy rocks, too.

I need to know if you wear navy blue pants - do you wear black or brown shoes if you are a man? (Big debate in the office)
Posted by: Sandy | 12/30/2009 at 04:36 PM
I think that this segment on how to wear a leather jacket is great! It is very important to remember your age and your style when picking out an item like this. Sometimes you don't get alot of young hip choices at your average leather stores which have alot of blazers or long leather coats. Pick something appropriate really works for everything doesn't it?

Please oh please bring WNTW back to a realistic 'adult' time. I agree with a previous poster-I enjoyed winding down with the show on Fridays, and now that you have plopped that horrid 'Say Yes To The Dress' in WNTW's timeslot, I no longer watch your station. I have no desire to be hard-marketed wedding dresses or watch 80 shows in regards to 'little people', or sit through the trials & tribulations of immense families. Please consider that WNTW is probably the only show you offer with any level of sophistication & intelligence.
Posted by: Elysia | 12/28/2009 at 02:12 PM
I went to visit my 16 year old grandaughter. She was watching a marathon of WNTW. I had never seen the show before, so when I came home it became a regular for me. It has been helpful to me, but more importantly, it has given me a conection to her. We are coming to NYC Dec.26th and she of course wants to shop. Could you suggest some budget friendly stores? This is my first trip to nyc and I havn't a clue! She would like to get a dress for Winter Dance and from the sites I have seen, they are way out of our price range. Can you help a country grandmother that really wants to please her sweet grandaughter? Thanks so much. Caroll

I have always looked forward to spending Friday nights at home watching What Not to Wear. I can't understand for the life of me WHY you would replace the time slot with back-to-back-to-back-to-back (!!!!!) episodes of Say Yes to the Dress!!! What a limited market you must be reaching with that show. PLEASE bring WNTW back to the Friday night time slot. It it the perfect way to end a busy week. By learning easy ways to improve ourselves by not only improving our wardrobes, but also our view of ourselves and the different positive aspects of our less-than-perfect bodies. Shows like this are what The Learning Channel should be supporting in the most convenient time slots for the majority of working women. Please give me back my Friday night favorite show!!!

Dear Producers of What Not To Wear: Kudos for one of the most entertaining, helpful, encouraging, and astute programs on television today.
The format is designed for the viewer to want to stay from the beginning to end.
The hosts are charming, attractive, funny, and smart folks that I would love to have as friends. Their body language and brillance in communicating is outstanding. They are standup people that are articulate, humorous, and kind enough to know what they need to say and when to stop. Both of Stacey and Clinton are my favorites of all times for tv reality.
They influence me in my shopping and in culling clothes from my closet. Not that I have arrived, but I have been told that I look elegant by a friend. I have never heard that before. I am a 68 yr old and a plus-size woman who appreciates looking nice and wants to put her best foot forward.
Scheduling needs to improve. I was disappointed to find that the show comes on later in the day. How sad.
I have not found the current schedule to meet mine so I have lost some of my best friends in tv.
I have heard that Nick is not back this year. That too is sad. None of these people have a corner on the market place; however, when you drop important individuals from the show, it feels personal to me. Certainly the problem could not be cost.
This program should be generating enough income to have the very best stylists around. Nick is respected and talented and brings another excellent level of straight-shooting help to the viewer.
Remember: This all about self-help. Do not drop your best teachers(Or as we have all heard: "Don't fix what is not broken.")
I hope Carmindy is still included. She too brings another level of insight to the viewers. Her presentation of herself is attractive and appropriate. Her simple advice is never lost on the viewer.
Once more: Thank for a show that is so positive and impacts the viewers in one of the best ways possible.

What ever possessed the TLC to move the best show that it aired, What Not to Wear, to 12:00 in the afternoon? I cannot telly ou how disappointed I am that the show no longer airs on Friday nights. I have not interest in the best of the dress and you have lost a long-time viewer.

I have been a huge fan of What not 2 wear. It is the best show ever. It helps people 2 know what is in and out of fashion and believe me some people out here need it. But I have not been able 2 see the show cause it has not been coming on, I don't care 4 all these new shows they r all the same. But this show helps people, so please bring it back. Here in Memphis,Tn the show came on on Friday nights at 7pm.

What happend to my favorite show, What not to wear? Why do you always take off the great sutff and put on the stuff no one wants to see. Please bring back Stacy & Clinton.

moving 'What not to Wear" from the Fri night spot is heartbreaking.!! Say yes to the dress is so lame and without any hip appeal. Please bring it back!! We really need Stacy and Clinton on Fri. eves...Nick too...I second bringing him back- did he want to move on?
Posted by: Anne W | 10/24/2009 at 09:56 PM
Maybe Stacey should follow her advise. In the Lee Rider ad's she wears two different shoes. I understand why you would wear a heel and a flat but the shoes are so sontrasting that it is hard to miss. Why would a person with such style be in such a horrible ad?

my name is tesla evans.I am a 13 year old girl who loves style!!I hope one day that i could meat you.My family really tries to support me in my style. They really dont know what it is like.Other than my mom.She is a 37 year old woman who is very supportave. She always tells me that if i want something then i have to work for it.Also that nothing comes free. But like she says I have to work for what i want, and one day i want to be just like both of you.

I can't believe how resistant everyone is to change. I liked Nick but I feel that he had gotten a little stale. I'd like to see how Ted does over time. So far I like that he listens to what the contributors want and doesn't just do a short cut on everyone. Why not give him a chance?
Posted by: bpb | 08/31/2009 at 05:21 PM
I think that the show is perfect and I love that they give people more confidence by giving them tools to work towards being a better person and making a effort to respect themselves again.
Posted by: kate | 08/30/2009 at 10:26 PM
Nick did the same 'do over and over. I haven't seen the same style twice since Ted came. I wonder if some of these "I want Nick back" comments might be tinged with a little racism. Just a thought.
Posted by: Wanda | 08/30/2009 at 09:09 PM
Please bring Nick Arrojo back!!!! Ted is soooooooooooooo bland, and all his styles look the same.
Posted by: Ann Marie | 08/29/2009 at 02:56 PM
We need Nick back! This new guy gives everyone the same hairdo, and he's so phony. Nick was the best, creative, and really knew the best hairdo for the people. Please bring him back!
Posted by: Betty | 08/29/2009 at 11:42 AM
I would like to see Nick Arrojo back, the show is not the same without him. If these ladies don't want their hair done, they shouldn't qualify for the money. WE WANT NICK BACK !!
Posted by: Cookie | 08/29/2009 at 01:09 AM
i've watched what not to wear since it started, and it has transformed both my appearance and my sense of style. i enjoyed the last episode so much that i went to website to view the shopping list. it's great to see the stores they went to and what was purchased. but i think they should include stacy and clinton's wardrobes in the shopping list. i want to know where she got that beautiful blue dress she wore on the last episode of the season.
also, i think they should go back to making over men as well as women. there are plenty of badly dressed men in america as well as women
Posted by: lynn | 08/28/2009 at 10:41 PM
I
have been watching What Not To Wear before Clinton joined the show. I am a 65 yr. old woman, size 14/16 and I would not wear that ugly green dress you put on Teresa.
Nick did not know how to do anything but cut the hair. He was not a stylist. You need me to dress the heavier ladies.
Posted by: shirley venable | 08/28/2009 at 10:09 PM
I would like to see Nick back on the show. It is not the same without him. The new guy is good, but just not the same for what not to wear.
