Breaking: What Not To Wear Going Off The Air After Ten Seasons!
03/06/2013
We never thought we'd see the day, but all good things must come to an end. After ten seasons on the air, What Not To Wear will be taking its final bow. TLC's longest-running primetime series will finish out by running its final shows on Friday nights, starting this July.
Are Stacy, Clinton, Carmindy and Ted sad to leave the cozy embrace of the 360 mirror? You bet. But they're also thrilled to be going out with a bang. "I'm excited about our final episodes. ... We are getting to do things we've never had the opportunity to do before, and there are many surprises in store," said host Stacy London.
Plus, both stylists have several other projects in the works. For the past two years, Clinton Kelly has served as a host on ABC's daytime talk show The Chew. And in 2012, Stacy released her first book, The Truth About Style.
"I'm proud of the work we've done and the lives we've changed," said Clinton. "And I'm relieved I
don't have to point out that dark-wash jeans look dressier than
light-wash jeans every day of my freakin' life."
Just how many makeovers have the crew completed? A whopping 325! That's a lot of shopping!
And WNTW had a profound impact -- not just on the style of the contributors, but on the hosts as well. “I've learned so much from all of our contributors over the years," said Stacy. "I hope we touched them as much as they touched me. I hope we touched our viewers. (I certainly see our rules in practice every day!) It feels like the end of an era and I look forward to my next chapter. I will always cherish the time I spent on WNTW and be eternally grateful to TLC for a great co-host, amazing crew and an awesome program."
"When I got the job, I told everyone I knew that we’d probably do ten episodes, get canceled and I’d go crawling back to my old job in magazine publishing," admits Clinton. So, I’m more surprised than anyone that we’ve lasted this long. As it turns out, WNTW is about taking stock of who you are and communicating that non-verbally to the rest of the world. That’s incredibly empowering.”

I am so sad to hear that What to Wear will be going off the air. I watch very little TV, but this is one show I never missed. It was so wonderful to see the difference in the women at the end of the show, not only in how they dressed but in how they walked and thought of themselves. What a shame. There isn't much good to watch on tv and now there will be even less. Good luck to eveyone involved with the show.

I am beyond sad that you are going off the air! I can not tell you how much I looked forward to your shows. With 3 kids and being a stay at home Mom you were my laughter and fun. I wish you both happiness but will miss your show so very much!!! I hope another fun show like yours fills your spot so I am not missing you both so much!

Stacy and Clinton,
I am so sad that What Not To Wear will be finished after your 10th season. I watched your show every day for many years and learned so much. You both have great chemistry and wonderful personalities.
I was always in a good mood after watching your show. You both were so funny too. It is the best show on TLC and was the only one I watched on TLC. Please put out more DVD's of all your episodes. I want to have them so that I can watch them every day. Stacy, I met you at the Westfield Mall in Escondido, CA when you hosted a fashion show. Loved it! Wish I met you too Clinton. Please think about teaming up again on another project. Both of you are the greatest!!!...Barbara

I can understand if S&C want to do new things (love "The Chew!" when I'm not working,) but why kill off such a good concept linking the fashion industry and real women of all ages as WNTW? The Learning Channel-- yes, that's what this cable network was *supposed* to be about -- increasingly is trading an upwardly mobile audience for down-scale trailer trash watching reality videos of down-scale trailer trash and worse. Even the advertisers it's attracting now are increasingly bottom feeders. So I'm done with TLC. -- Becca

My bottom lip hangs out everytime I read about how you guys are going off the air. This really is the best show on TLC and one of the only reasons I still pay for cable. I wish you all the best and thanks for all the inspiration!!

I think the station should rethink stopping this show. It is needed now more then ever. Instead the station will put some more idiot shows about reality poop that is stupid and idiotic.. Why can't they keep something we like instead of ignoring out opinions all the time..

I've watched your show as I've grown up. I'll be sorry not to see it any more. My husband appeals to the authority of "what would Stacey and Clinton tell you about that dress?" when I ask for his opinions! I too took comfort from the show in the hospital; as my newborn girl recovered from emergency heart surgery, I'd hold her and we'd have "girl nights" enjoying chick fliks and your shows. It's definitely the end of an era. Happy Trails, guys!

Of all the shows to take off the air. Amazing. You run Honey Boo Boo down our throats and other shows of it's kind. Giving a stage for the worst in people and giving the world the impression that the US is filled with over the top characters.
Stacy and Clinton helped people who thought that behaving and looking badly is not the norm.
There are few shows that I will be watching on TLC anymore. Your network is overloaded with the " people behving badly" type of show.
GOODBYE TLC - You have lost a loayl viewer.

I think TLC is crazy to end this show. Stacy and Clinton are wonderful, and WNTW is one of the best shows on TV!

I cried when I saw your show was coming to an end. Sounds a bit dramatic I know but for me your show was more than just a fashion show with great advice. While my mom was battling cancer we used to record your shows and watch them together after her chemo treatments. It was a great source of joy for us and a fun way to get her mind off her pain and sickness. We would quote you daily and giggle like school girls. My mom passed away 2 years ago but each time I turn an episode on I still feel like she is sitting next to me wanting to gossip about the latest make over. Time marches on though and I wish you both the best of luck in everything! Thank you for all you have done and will do!

I am soooooo sad to see you guys go! I have watched your from the beginning and quoted you numerous times. I am happy for all of you but sad that I won't get to see you guys as often as I do now.
Good luck and you will be missed.
