Week Six: The "Next Great Baker" Power Rankings

Carlo's Bakery and Buddy Valastro are steeped in Italian culture and tradition, so you just knew that there'd be a Next Great Baker challenge involving Italian food, right? The contestants were treated to an Italian fine dining experience at Carraba's restaurant, and met with Carraba's owner Damian Mendola to receive their latest challenge.

The contestants were split into two teams and were instructed to make a three-foot tall cake incorporating/replicating classic Italian dishes. In addition to making it through to the next round, the winner recieved a trip for two to Italy. Not to shabby, eh? The runners up were treated to a year's worth of food from Carraba's.

Team Chad, Ashley, Paul and Letty make a great cake, but it unfortunately falls just short of the required three foot height requirement. There's discord on the team over Letty's contributions. But over at team Chris, Jen and Gretel-Ann, Gretel-Ann is not amused by Jen's workmanship. Even so, their team pulls out the win -- basically on a technicality. And Jen is awarded the trip to Italy, which we can imagine totally burned Gretel-Ann. 

When it came time to decide who went into the box truck, the losing team voted Letty off the Next Great Baker island. She didn't exactly help, when she admitted that she could have done more.

So let's go to the Power Rankings!

I think everyones great and some day i would like to be as good as these people!!!But i have to say i belive that ashley or jen will win. But i give best wishes to Ashley,Jen,and Gretal Ann

My comment is about Chris.when he was eliminated his team cake failed cause of the sculpture. Fine. but the sculpture that was On The first cake was destroyed ,,came out so pretty.i get it Buddy like to test them but REALLY no one Ever drives like that to a destination unless there drunk...now Chads gone .......its obvious he wants ash to win.....

i agree with the ones that think it is fixed, chad should win ,and buddy knows he is the best, and yes, he had his pick from the very beginning, chad should of never gone home! i only like the blonde girl,very nice person--- the other 2 are witches and doesn't meet the standards of chad---i won't be watching any more my self!

I dont know but y'all, I know already the winner, buddy already picked it from day one. I don't know if you guys notice it clearly on the last two episodes... it tantararan... ASHLEY HOLTS...!!!! I ain't watching this show no more.. that ashley is no better than chad...yes chad was at the bottom team all the time, but half of the time his given team mates that will put him down... now, whose left? those other candidate who's just meh to me... no challenge for Ashley anymore...

oh well, no more of this show for me... I've watched this show since it started, now, I'm done with it

oh and the pipping challenge it was clear it was done so Gretal could win... no way as she the even close to the best. It was done because they know she is a snake and TLC wanted some drama.

I think Chad is great... he does the best work most of the other contestants are hacks. Ashley and Gretel have way worse personalities. I would hate to work with either of them. Gretel is sneaky and mean and Ashley is one of those mean girls who can dish it but if you say anything to her even 1 tenth as bad as what she said to you she freak out and gets angry. She has some serious issues.
