Week Four: The "Next Great Baker" Power Rankings
12/18/2012
Another week, another hardcore challenge from Buddy Valastro for the competitors on Next Great Baker. After completing a tough (but delicious) Oreo cookie-themed challenge, Ashley emerged the winner. The contestants were then split into teams -- Ashely, Paul, Peter, Letty and Chad went up against Gretel-Ann, Jess, Jen and Chris -- and were tasked with creating life-size, full-body cakes for comediennes Judy Gold and Carol Siefer. The cakes had to be good -- the women were going to roast their dessert-counterparts at the Friar's Club as part of the competition.
While both teams really pulled out the stops, it was Team Carol Siefer who prevailed. That left Gretel-Ann, Chris, Jen and Jess up for elimination. While it was a tight competition, in the end Jess was sent home.
And if you're wondering what happened to Garrett, well, so are we. Garrett sat the competition out this week thanks to a pretty severe panic attack, and it's unclear whether he'll be allowed to compete again. Tune in to find out!
And check out this week's Next Great Baker power rankings in the meantime.
Do you think Jess deserved to go home? What do you think should happened to Garrett? Tell us in the comments!

SHAME SHAME SHAME on YOU BUDDY!!!!!!
You only chose ASHley to win because she's young and pretty........
I would NEVER shop at your store if that rude Woman waited on me..........
THIS Season was so lousy....YOU BUDDY totaled flirted and favored ASHLEY right from the beginning....
WOW you are encouraging that generation to be even MORE disrespectful then they already are by giving the Next GREAT BAKER title to Ashley.............
I hope you didn't let your OWN kids watch that last show and AShley's arrogant immature unprofessional juvenille fit....
You should have listened to your Mother and Sisters instead of making a fool of yourself and letting somebody WIN because she's young and pretty!!!

I also am sad about all the waste in the show. There are so many homeless and just struggling people who would love an unperfect cake or dessert.

I can tell you who will probably win. If you are from New Jersey or New York & italian, that's all that matters in the end. After last year I thought Marissa was ok but the other gal really should've won. Her cake blew the other one out of the water. But she was not italian or from NY or NJ. Bummer but true.

I really want the recipe for the Oreo cookie cookie that they made in the bakers challenge! It looked really good! And I agree Jessica should not of gone home!

As far as I'm concerned, Garrett forfeited his right to be in the competition when he didn't even show up for episode 4. He should have gone home instead of Jessica

I am sitting here watching the episode where they must make a groovy cake and Buddy is throwing them out by the dozen. There are children out there who would love to have a cake like what they were making who cares if a dot was gone, what a shame and a waste and how I feel for the children who have never had a cake let alone one that looks like the cakes on this show Shame rethink what you are doing
