Celebrate Life With "Best Funeral Ever"

John Beckwith, Jr. isn't your average funeral director. And Beckwith and his team at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas, don't throw typical funerals. Instead, they arrange home-goings, which are traditional African American celebrations of life. "The Golden Gate experience is our version of the traditional African American home-going celebration," he explains. "We do not produce generic funerals; everybody’s experience has to be different.”

We'll see a special Christmas-themed funeral for a man who loved the holiday; a state fair-themed home-going ceremony for a man who was never able to ride a roller coaster; and a even a special barbecue (with barbecue sauce fountain!) for another special client.
