A Statement From "Next Great Baker" Contestant James Brown
On Monday night's episode of The Next Great Baker, contestant James Brown made the difficult decision to withdraw from the competition due to health problems. Just before appearing on the show, he was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor, and it was clear that the stress of his impending treatment was getting to him on the show.
James chose to voluntarily leave the show to take care of his health, and released the following statement:
"Thank you to everyone for the outpouring of support. Together with my family, I have been focused on my health and am working with my doctors to prepare for surgery to remove the tumor, which will happen early next year. Thought it's been a difficult time, I feel fortunate to have the encouragement of the fans, Buddy, and the entire NEXT GREAT BAKER team helping me through this journey."
We wish James and his family well during this difficult time.
