Addiction Hits Home in "Cracking Addiction"
09/28/2012
Cracking Addiction digs into the dark and destructive world of addiction by going on the front lines with mother-son intervention team, Debbie and Brandon Knauss.
Their family business, Vital Intervention Professionals [V.I.P], was inspired by Brandon's own severe drug addiction and his subsequent out-of-control spiral to rock bottom. Devastated, Brandon's family turned to Dr. Phil to conduct what would be TV's first intervention. After jail, rehab and recovery, Brandon applied his knowledge and experience to travel the country with his mother Debbie to bring drug addicts into recovery. Cracking Addiction follows their journey as they prepare and execute surprise interventions.

You see, there are deals, but not "ofertones". Known phenomenon for the second time, vote-buying that at all who must demonize, make it clear-spending and stay him these cars, we put them and ask them pretty reasonably priced with finance option so that he would be benefit and we go home with our vehicle, secure and happy.

I just watched an episode of the show; i enjoy it because the addicts appear to be more educated and I think this should appeal to a different type of addict.

I would like to talk from the addict side. I have so many problems that I use my addictions to cover up and numb from the endless pain. I see that u are in contact with family members and loved ones to help these people but I do not have any support in any area. I do have a family, however they choose to blame me for every problem in our family. To me the more painful and worst part to me is that I have not ever been able to get support, acknowledgment and any support at all. I do not know if u ever look at helping me without any family, including my son? I need and want some people to surround me to heal from the horrors from my life and find a way to have something to live and go on for? I do have some incredible friends but I need my family to know me, see my problems and to see the part they have played in my life even while they love to use me as the family scapegoat so they never look to their own issues. Brandon, u have mdke me feel like there is hope because u overcame and with ur Mom by your side u are putting yourselves out there to help. Thank u for listening and I realize that t.v. doesn't work very well if it is just me begging for help but I believe u both could want to help me if u knew me. God bless u for helping.

Our daughter is 29 yrs old with 3 small children. She is addicted to heroin and has lost custody of her children. We have not seen or heard from her in over a month. She stole from us and as soon as we said something she left our house. We really want to help our daughter but do not know how

My father is currently addicted to alcohol. He started drinking after my parents divorce when I was two. I am currently 21 & he is still addicted. I just recently had my first child & my dads first grandchild. My son & I get out on the back burner because he can't stop drinking for one day! He doesn't come to family events because he doesn't want to drink & drive which is good, but he can't give it up to see family. He currently has a girlfriend who is just as bad as an alcoholic as him! Therefore it is even harder for him to stop. He recently got into an car accident. He claimed he blacked out & drove into a teal phone pole. He was just getting off when this happens & after it he went to do his regular grocerie shopping & didn't call the police because he was afraid that they would take his liscence away. I am so sad and hurt that not only me but my sister & my son are with out our father &grandfather! I wish someone would have an intervention so I could finally after years have my father back!please help

I understand what they are trying to do but just because Brandon overcame his addiction doesn't make him qualified to be an interventionist... if that is the case then everyone else that overcame their addiction is an interventionist... I know you need schooling, certificates or degrees in certain areas to qualify you as an interventionist. What degree does Brandon have?

My son Danny is 32 and lives with me has an addiction problem with alcohol, his father was a NYC Police Lt. who died when he was 42, Danny was 10 at the time. The cause of death on his death certificate is chronic alcoholism, his grandmother was also alcoholic who committed suicide when Danny was 3. We now live in Florida. Danny also suffers from anxiety and some mental health issues. He has been arrested about 15 times for Disorerly Intox and Disorderly Conduct. He is in a mental health facility right now for the last 4 days they want to discharge him tommorrow. He hasn't had anything to drink in about 3 weeks, he was in jail for 2 of those weeks. The problem with treatment here is it cost a lot of money which I don't have and he has never really been able to keep a job, and most of the alcohol treatment centers don't let you take medication for mental health, he needs a dual diagnosis center which we don't have here. I am at a loss as to what to do, I am afraid for him and afraid for myself.
