Kelly's "Big Day" Unfolds Friday Night
08/17/2012
There are certain brides from Say Yes to the Dress who really stand out. Shocking entourages, dressing room meltdowns and over-the-top requests all help brides make Say Yes history. Kelly Dooley is a bride we'll never forget for several reasons.
First of all, this was a bride with discerning taste. She wanted opulence for her Marie Antoinette-themed wedding. And she was prepared to pay for it.
Secondly, there was only one dress she was interested in: the high-low silver Pnina Tornai gown that closed the designer's London runway show. When Randy located the gown, Kelly didn't bat an eyelash at the price tag -- $34,000!
This left us wondering what her wedding would be like. We don't have to wonder anymore! On Friday @ 10|9c, watch Kelly's wedding day unfold in Say Yes to the Dress: The Big Day.
And in the meantime, relive the excitement of her appointment at Kleinfeld in this video!

Update: Catch a sneak peek of The Big Day!

We were actually in Kleinfeld the day she was in this dress. My friend had an appointment to try on one of her own and it was even uglier in person. The wedding we nice, but the dress did not go at all.

This episode was an absurd display of fake greedy people especially the mother! Shame on all of you I hope everyone see's both you and your moms nastiness. The wedding was about you andYOUR MOM it should have been about you and YOUR SOON TO BE HUSBAND!!!!!

GOOD GOD!! That mother was OBNOXIOUS! I can't believe that guy was still going to marry Kelly knowing that mother was going to be in his life for years to come. And shame on Kelly for letting her mother veto everything that guy wanted. That mother should be beyond ashamed.

Kelly's legs are too short for that dress. It makes her look like she's 4 ft. tall.

Maddy boy are you a fool. Stop listening to Rush Limbaugh and get a clue. Air Force One is not a private jet.

Just watched this show as rerun on November 23/12...what an obscene display of greedy, fake, narcissistic people...from the bride to the groom to the mom - disgusting. Most normal men would run away from her as fast as they could..are these people for real? and to top it all off the dress was horrible and tacky. Yuk

Wow! I see that there are quite a few haters posting about this show. Kelly's wedding was far from tacky. Yeah her dress was ugly and a complete waste of money but the rest of her wedding was really lovely. The idea of having a full flower ceiling with crystal chandeliers was amazing. So what if her mother was bossy, their are a lot of bossy moms out there, especially when they are the ones footing the bill. To me if Kelly didn't mind following her mother's lead I don't get what everyones problem is. Everyone wants to have the wedding of their dreams this was her dream.

Kelly is a successful business woman; she seems like she is very hard working and is very compassionate to women's issues. As far as what I have seen on the TLC special, she is very mannerly and smart. I do think her mom is very opinionated. But who's mom isn't? It seems like she has the money to splurge on this one-time most special event in her life. Let her have her day! We all do with what we have whether it's just cake and congratulations or a huge soiree.

Correction to a typo in the above: Louis XVI, not Louis XIV

I can't believe that she doesn't see the irony of having a Marie Antoinette themed wedding on Bastille Day, which is the French holiday that celebrates the storming of the Bastille prison to free those who the revolutionaries felt had been wrongly oppressed and imprisoned by the monarchy of Louis XIV and his wife, Queen Marie Antoinette. It was the day that started the French Revolution which would ultimately lead to the queen loosing her head.
I thought that parts of this wedding were beautiful (those flowers!), and I'm glad if this couple is genuinely in love and starting a new life together with joy. However, it should hardly be surprising to someone who chooses to go on TV and publicly announce that she is trying to be like Marie Antoinette while millions of people are currently suffering from a bad economy, that the reaction to her from the "common" people watching will be similar to those of 18th century France looking at the undeniably beautiful, but insultingly and condescendingly out of touch events hosted by the original Marie Antoinette.

I have no idea what her wedding looked like. I was too busy staring into the eyes of her fiance,Adam. I am not sure why he made me melt evertime they showed him and he loked all sparkly and I heard romantic music.......that was very very weird especially when my husband is sitting next to me saying how ridiculous it all is. I feel like i was hypmotized!

I think it's funny that everybody is so upset about this. My whole wedding, dress included, cost 1/10 of just her dress but who cares? If she's happy, then that is the whole point. It was her money and her day. I think the hubby should have gotten the glasses but whatever. They look like they are in love and that they had a great time so good for them.
Also, the people who are so worried about them sharing the wealth...think about how many people and businesses it took to pull this wedding off. This family paid a lot of people who probably paid a whole heck of a lot of other people. Let that sink in for a while...

TACKY

She looked pretty, but the dress looked like something from the cheap teen store at the mall. And doesn't mama realize that new carpet smells terrible?
Since Kelly wants to be just like Marie Antoinette, I guess she wants to be beheaded in a few years.

Kelly should have respected Andrew and honored him with some of his wishes on HIS special day the gift of the fob was lame

Unbelievably ridiculous is how I would describe Kelley and her mother. It goes to show you that money DOES NOT buy class. The only thing I liked about this wedding was Kelley's lipstick color.

Just watching the repeat and mother is complaining about the carpet.Just threw up in my mouth

Wow. How immature and hateful a lot of you are for no complete reason. Why are you mad at someone for spending their OWN money the way they want on a special day of their life. Oh wow "give money to open up a homeless shelter" well why don't you ask these same things to YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT WHO SPENDS YOUR MONEY on private jets and vacations. I swear some of you peoples reasoning is way off. I'm sure you all have nice cell phones worth over $300 and yet you probably won't give a dollar to a homeless person yourself. And those who wish bad things to happen upon this woman's relationship SHAME ON YOU! Instead of just being happy for people, you want to tear them down. You don't know what kind of lives these people lived to get where they're at today and what hardships they may have had. Bottom line you don't know other peoples lives so STOP HATING. I'm sure they've probably given more to charities more than any of you have. Alot of your posts disgust me and all I can hear from it is jealousy and ignorance. Grow up!!

I love that Kelly had the wedding of her dreams. I love that Kelly loves her mother and wanted her to be a BIG part of the planning. I know that Kelly and her mother work hard for their money AND they give generously to charities. May God bless Kelly as she starts this new season of her life.

I love how this girl idolizes Marie Antoinette. Does she know what happened to Marie Antoinette and WHY it happened? What a complete ignorant fool!
