Honey Boo Boo Inspires Song, Much Praise
08/09/2012
Unless you were aboard the Mars rover for the past 24 hours, chances are you've been caught up in the massive wave of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo mania. The press loves it (Time magazine exclaimed: "America, meet your new family-comedy royalty!"; Gawker called it "important television"); Twitter loves it; Snooki & JWOWW love it; your cubicle-mate probably won't stop talking about it.
But perhaps best of all, one little musical genius named Jed loved it so much he wrote a song.
If by some travesty you missed last night's airing, catch up by watching full episodes, and then tune in to Here Comes Honey Boo Boo every Wednesday @ 10|9c.

I too hope they take it all the way to the bank. Just because they are different doesnt make them trash. The little girl is kind to others and seems considerate. One of you was right, the kids to have self esteem. They are probably non-judgemental which is more than I can say about 99% of the people I have met. I hope the show opens lots of doors for the little girl Alana. At least they arent pretentious and snooty like most.

Whoever decided to air this show needs a lobotomy.

The show isn't terrific educational programming and could we all watch something a bit more enriching, of course! However, little Miss Honey Boo Boo is anything but stupid. She is quick witted, full of confidence and a happy child. Do I approve of her Mother's parenting style, or the basic social skills that are lacking in their household - no, but they laugh together, truly seem to love and enjoy each other's company and are full of life. Although, the show is definitely not quality tv programming I always feel a bit happier after watching it. I hope TLC compensates this family well enough so that Honey can afford a college education if she chooses that path and the family can splurge on themselves a bit. Stop being so hateful people!!! She is 6!!!!!! It's pretty trashy to hate a 6yr old!!!

There is an old saying..Two men looked out prison bars,
One saw mud,the other stars!
I think it's all in perception if you look for stars..you see them
Honey is a beautiful child, loved, and cared for and allowed to
be happy.Just watching her on camera is amazing
For her age ..she is a breath of fresh air and a treat !
Relief from spoiled,vain and selfish.

Praise?? No. This is a tragic mess.
Birth control, toothpaste, manners, a dictionary ... are just a few of the things they need.
Not even a passing train derailment would help ....
Then again .... I don't wish death on them. She is clearly a sweet girl. How have they made it this far in life?

They are trailer park trash, prostituting their kid for a buck and 15 minutes of fame, I hated the kardashians and jersey shore, but this is worse then both of them..The kid isnt even cute, just annoying. And ya! I use my off button on the tv.

I am also ashamed the crew did not get her a Kleenex. I hope they do not
treat their children like that. After reading the the comments of many , I will bet many watch the Kardashiens, the horrible "Housewife Shows" and the other trashy shows. This family loves each other. They have not had many advantages. And did not have a family that taught them manners.Fran

I'm 37 and I have never written to complain about something I've seen on TV. I just watched the episode about Alana's birthday and was horrified! At the end, Alana sneezed and snot came flying out of her nose. She covered her face and sat there not knowing what to do, as she was being filmed. Usually she is a care free child undaunted and even amused by anything people normally consider embarrassing, including bodily functions. However, it was obvious she was embarrassed as she sat there for a really long time covering her face, not saying anything, trying her best to deal with the problem. What infuriates me is that the crew, who go out of their way to take advantage of any opportunity to maximize the laugh factor by highlighting the unflattering aspects of this family's life had the shameful nerve to let Alana sit there like that without offering her help or a tissue! What's worse is that the footage was actually used!! They even showed her crying as she finally got up and ran off when no one would help her. I couldn't believe it. TLC should be ashamed of themselves. If you feel like you have to humiliate a 7 year old child to get ratings, then you are the ones with a sad life.

At first it was very shocking to see; however, the show grows on you. It appears to be a genuine glimpse into a mother's attempt to raise her children on a small budget, with a limited education, while breaking all societal expectations. They are not the shallow Kardashian's or other reality figures on TV, whom flaunt their unlimited wealth and complain about their hairstylist when the rest of the nation struggles to make car payments. The show reminds us that material things are not what makes us happy or keeps families together. The lesson we learn from the show is that loving yourself and accepting others without prejudice can also make a good recipe for happiness.

I LOVE this show! It is funny and entertaining. We are ALL not perfect and it nice to see people in the real world for once.

I think this is the most disgusting show on TV. I can't believe it is still on the air. Is this what you want your children to learn from NOT.
BAD BAD show.

TLC will now be known as The Loser Channel. I will give them a little credit in picking a little girl with more talent than Kim k And Spooki

I don't want to live on this planet anymore. This is, without question, the worst tripe I have ever seen. "The Learning Chanel"?? Wow, just wow. Where is the pride, America? The slovenly cave dwellers give this amazing country a bad name. Yes, single handed. Somewhere in space, our signals are beaming across the galaxy; and THIS is what represents us. The founding fathers would be so proud.

I am so amazed at this Honey Boo Boo.
She and her family have "delusions of adequacy."
She isn't cute, intelligent or amusing. She is a spoiled little girl raised by a limited family.

I find this family, particularly Alana and her parents, to be refreshing, delightful, and real. June is a resourceful & fun mom. Sugar Bear is the kind of caring and gentle father every little girl should have. Alana is confident, full of life, and very talented! She seems like a happy child and that is a joy to see. I would love to spend a day with this family. It makes me sad to see so many harsh and nasty comments directed toward them. I think it is great that they spend time together as a family and that they find simple ways to entertain themselves. They seem to value the things that are truly important in life. I wish I could contact June directly to share my support of her and her family. I bet they appreciate some words of sincere encouragement to balance out all of the hate-filled attacks they receive from the public.

A show like this can define what's wrong with America. From everything portrayed within the episodes to the network support it receives. A total disgrace. I would expect something wholesome from TLC, but obviously this channel has no integrity left. So many posts have justified it by saying how much the family shows love for each other. That mother is not loving her children by being ignorant and fowl mouthed. Those kids should be removed and provided to so many homes that would actually properly love, care, and educate them. TLC, Please cancel this show and replace it with something that Americans can be proud to watch. Disgraceful.

I watched this show for the first time last night. During part of the episode the girls were making fun of Mom because she had staining around her neck and folds of skin. Has any one told this woman she may have type 2diabetes? This is possibly acanthosis nigricans. Please TLC - help this lady.

I'm a little bored with the Botox plastic actors and actresses. That's why this show has people fascinated. These people are as genuine as you can get. The Mother June has heart. This is refreshing. No she isn't refined but you can tell she is a nice person and that's more pleasant to watch than a bunch of shallow, mean housewives all screaming and insulting each other. Those shows promote catty behavior. This has heart and is refreshing.

great, best show on tv. real people being real.

I just watched an episode of Honey Boo Boo for the first time . . . WOW!So much to say, yet so little use in doing so!
First of all; why are people applauding this behavior? I am alarmed by any support from viewers! Why is it that parents who RAISE their children by values and morals and who discipline poor, immoral, distasteful, and unaccptable behavior get ridiculed; yet this national display of social deficiency is entertaining and educational?!?
A parent's job is to do the best for their childrens' welfare. This show has done nothing but attempt to shine a positive light on these "parents" and their failure to teach their children some sense of propriety.
I will not deny that the evidence of this family's love for one another is unmistakable, so why would this mother and father not want to go BEYOND encouraging self confidence, but encourage the kids to be the best people they can be? I refuse to believe that for each person in this family, being as they are is as good as it gets for them. Furthermore, letting your family do what makes them happy is not a bad thing in theory- unless what makes you happy is disruptive and/or counter producive to your physical, mental, social, and spiritual development and well-being (or in this case, that of the entire family).
When I heard Alana say, "Mama" and heartfully show her affections, it reminded me of my own daughters- also so young and impressionable; trying to please and emulate us as parents. I only hope that this mom and dad smarten up and use this experience to help their family to forge real goals for their lives and to be some sort of genuine and positive example to the viewers of TLC.

I can't believe that child yelled at the people in the infected water"I hope you get the flesh eating bacteria and die and I will laugh". Why are they getting clothes from the dumster when they are getting paid from TLC? You should be ashamed of yourself for putting this horrible family on tv.

The sad part is that they are just "living life the way they want" because they are to ignorant to know any better.
Posted by: Lisa | 09/12/2012 at 11:36 PM
I absolutely love this show. They are real people and don't care what other people think. It's nice to see a family that's not all skinny little, perfectly kept, snooty rich families like most of the housewives and Kardashian shows on tv- they are like many Americans- living life they way they want- and are happy- leave them alone!!!!!!!

Where on earth did you find these hillbilles?Had to be way way back in the woods. It is quite an insult to the decent families that you use to have on.
