Bigger and Better: Cake Boss is Back on October 26!
10/21/2009
I’m so excited for this. Season two and it’s one with a lot of late nights. You know, once you’re on tv, and people have seen some good stuff. So we have to kick it up a notch.
We bent over backwards, taping late nights, just to get things done.. Looking back and seeing moments, it's awesome.
It's pretty crazy. Season two, the cakes get insane. It's nuts. We really push the bar. I think
TLC as a network wanted to challenge me, but it's also the fact that people have seen the cake, and now they have even stranger requests. They don't want a cake. They want a cake that'll spin, talk and move!
We did a pizza cake. We have one cake coming up, it's the craziest ever, but I don't know if I can spill it yet.
Thing is, you learn techniques as you go. I feel like I've been doing this forever, but I'm learning everyday. Every time someone asks for a cake, I challenge myself and my staff. We want to kick it up. We just made a pizza cake and burned the molding chocolate with a blow torch. Awesome.
In the bakery, we’re really up to maximum capacity now. We do probably 50 to 60 cakes a weekend, and anywhere from 300 to 600 birthday cakes. Three or four cakes make it on the air, but unless they shoot the inside of the refrigerator, you don't see all that we've got going.
And, it's not just the cakes. People come by, they want to visit. They get cookies or cannolis, and they just want to see the bakery.
Honestly, all the feedback is so overwhelming, and everything is positive. It’s special. I get back to all my fan mail, send them pictures. We do all we can. It's been great. It’s been hardwork, and my life is a blur, now, but it’s all a good thing.
Last season, I felt so bad, felt like I missed a lot of time at home. But my kids... they love seeing Daddy on TV and we're getting into a routine, soI can have more time with them. There are trips I have to take for the show, and we're going to bring them with us. That's the thing: you just have to live for the moment, take advantage of it and enjoy..
Season Two is pretty sick. I’m already impressed.
And for everyone that asks about my mom: She's doing great. She yelled at me last season for doing an adult cake. This season, she'll yell at me for riding a motorcycle.
Stay tuned!
Tune in October 26, at 10/9c for the season premiere. If you missed any of the chaos from last season, you can catch up right here.

Hey Buddy love the show. I was wondering if you could make a cake for my wedding reception. I cant have a normal wedding for family reasons! But for one of the reception parties i was wondering if you could make me one of your awesome cakes. Im not getting married till October 2011 but i figured I would ask now because I know your very busy! Hope you decide to! Thanks!

I am looking forward to season 3. Keep everything the same- especially the yelling. (That's real life- nobody gets along all the time)Plus nobody seems to mind it on the show. And keep Momma the same! I love it when she fusses at the family and keeps them straight (That's what a Momma is supposed to do) I would like to see more of the extended family- I enjoy getting to know them better. Thanks for allowing us into your life. I know the new season will be just as funny, entertaining and creative.

I just watched the clip where everyone was talking about freaky talents, and I was laughing so hard, but your comment about your mom here... I have to say it, I just LOVE your mom! After watching that clip, I instantly became a fan of hers. No offense intended to those who got yelled at, but... hooray for old-school morals! The rest of the world can laugh at it, but it's nice to see someone still believes that way. And who knows... maybe your bakery's policy against dirty cakes has scored you some points with the real Boss. A little respect in that direction never hurt anyone!

Hey buddy! I really love watching your show and seeing the amazing creations that you can do by just hearing an idea and making it actually come to be, but im a little dissapointed that most of your cakes arent really made up of "cake". Especially in the solar system and airplane cakes, it was rice krispy cereal and not really cake. Im not hatin on you, cause i would never be able to make anything close to what you make and i love watching your show, but i hope to see more cake made cakes this season!

I love your show, I love to watch your creations come to life. I am up every night watching rerun after rerun and the new shows as well. You are the best Buddy, you are the best. Wish I could just taste one of your cakes because if you seen the way I look at the television you would think I was going to eat thru it.

I love your show - you are truly an artist, HOWEVER, it completely grosses me out that you use bare hands to do your decorating.

Buddy is a first class idiot... the kid who got picked on in school... loud, obnoxious, and in need of the attention he didn't get as a child... Joe Pesci on a sugar high... you think you're entertaining, you're not! You come across as a moron with a big mouth... Ace of Cakes is a first class act compared to you... you're a little man...

Dear Buddy, hi....You need to get rid of your sister Mary...She is spoiled, rude and obnoxious...The time she called another bakery for her birthday cake and the time she sold the crumb cake were totally of the chart...She is ruining the show for you...But other that her unappreciated antics your show is great..You have a passion for the public the surpasses understanding....Fondly, Nancy

Buddy,
What resources are there for the person who wants to learn the pastry craft that's affordable. Most culinary schools don't offer just pastry curriculum.
Love your show,
jamba

Dear Buddy, I am watching the episode with the red truck that you need the wheels for. Do you realize that you placed a dirty truck from the floor on to the table right next to a cake being prepared. You then used a saw and a all of the wood shavings went on the same table. Each week my family and I watch you and your staff prepare cakes without gloves. You are now on the roller blades touching the walls. I have never seen anyone washing hands. Please change this bad habit.

Hi Buddy and staff, Just to wanted to say I'm not into reality shows cuz nothing about them are real I'm even less likely to write comments on any show ever,,, but your show is absolutely amazing!! I feel compelled to express my excitement! You and your staff are so talented I've become addicted! You are all true artists and have proven to be consummate professionals even when faced with the toughest situations like bridzilla who sabbotaged your work of art,, instead of making her wear it (which is what would have done),you made another cake and showed how sweet and proffesional you really are! You were as sweet as can be,I love the respect you give to your father always mentioning him and how he started this business showing his pictures and giving him the respect and hommage he deserves for starting it all, through your show the world has gotten to know him and what he started. Thank you for continuing and perfecting this art form, he is surely very proud of you! I've always been into art and watching your show is like art coming to life! you and your staff out do yourselves every time.Hope to get a chance to pass by your shop one day to witness this work of art in person and dive into one of your cakes!!Until then I wish you lots of success with your show. I'm sure your fan base will only mutiply as the word spreads out of how crazy these cakes look and must taste by the looks of them!Congratulations! P.S loved the Sesame Street episode!Cookieee!! Adorable!!

I watch your show every Monday night with my children and we love the iteraction, family arguments, the love, and how at the end of the day FAMILY is number 1.
God Bless!!!

All of you do great work on these cakes.
But the arguing & fussing is disgusting.
More cake Decorating & less arguing with family. There is so much hollering at each other sometimes i have to turn the channel.'
Just decorate OK
