SuperFetch Finale!

Tricks and Treats

Superfetch

That was a quick season! We've watched Zak George work magic with dogs learning to bowl and serve a beer, make a bed, and an introduction at the beach. We've even seen dogs getting into the matrimony biz, assisting with a proposal, and ushering at a wedding. Zak's enthusiastic coaching and the love connection between dog and human illustrated perfectly just how well our four-legged companions can serve us--or even just have some fun, like the dog who perched on a bike for a ride in the park. Now "Superfetch" wraps up with a last flurry of cool tasks on Saturday. You know Zak will leave us with some memorable inspiration, a few new ideas to try out on the dogs,or other pets, in our own lives.

And Zak, along with his loyal border collie Venus, would like to see other animals trying their paws, or wings, at some fun of their own. For example, The Mole knows a blue-eyed cat named Tiffany who's talented at organizing shoes, and Chippy, a Jack Russell who supervises her family's Christmas decorating. Perhaps a dog could help pick out, then carry, some of those holiday gifts we're busy buying. And at home, we could ask a helpful cat to lend a paw to the wrapping process--holding down the roll of paper, or clawing through the tags. Remember how the mice and birds in "Cinderella" designed and sewed a pretty ball gown for their friend? What if bunnies or guinea pigs could get into the tailoring/alterations game. Or an energetic parakeet might polish a mirror or dust a table!

Sure, it sounds funny, but Zak always showed "Superfetch" viewers that an animal's love and enthusiasm for play and fun can lead to all sorts of possibilities, if we just try! The Mole is still working with Starli cat on sorting laundry--she prefers to hide among the towels instead of folding them--and asking Max to hit the TV remote (please, no more dance shows!).

Watch the season finale of SuperFetch this Saturday, December 12 at 7PM e/p.

As a child, The Mole planned to work with animals. She was sidetracked by a writing career and the rest is history. Meet The Mole >
