Hey everyone. There's just some bad weather ahead of us this next week or so, so I wanted to open up a Q&A and Ronan and I will answer a few of them for you guys! Stuff about our chasing history, favorite color, etc.
Of course, we will be chasing what we can, but should have some time to provide you with some answers
Send me some questions!

How much imax filming do u do from the TIV on average? Do u film a little from every storm or just when intercepting tornadoes?

Also, I love josh but have ever just wanted to say "screw josh" (in the most polite way possible) and just chase with your instincts and your gut?

Byron how many missions has Sean had for you already today? It's 9:45am.

When will the TVN-Dominator, TIV 2, and the TIV be seen on the Weather Channel Vortex 2 video blogs?
You guy are doing great with keeping us updated on the chase. I got a map in the classroom with all your locations marked. My students are getting jumpy for you guy's to get back out there and get that tornado!!! Go-Go-Go

Growing up, have you always been 'obssessed' with Tornadoes? At what age did you really get involved with 'chasing'? (Question is for all of you. lol)

Are you guys still paired with Dr. Wurnam or are you now more independent and chasing on your own with doghouse? Also, what about Scout - same question.

How close is Sean to completing his IMAX film? On IMDB it says due for release this year??
When is TIV2 going to make an appearance... and whats its current status?
What do you guys all do for the other 10 months of the year?

Are you in the Tiv2 this year and are you still with Josh

Will there be a Season 4?! Yeah, I'm that obsessed with the show...haha
Posted by: Tori | May 19, 2009 at 07:51 PM
I seem to recall that after season 1 there was an hour long show called "The Science of Storm Chasing" which was about the data that had been collected and what was learned. I don't seem to recall anything like that after season 2. Will you do something like that after season 3?
For me "Storm Chasers" is the perfect show because it's exciting, humorous, compelling stories, beautiful photography, and science all in one show! I'm very interested in the science of what Josh and everyone are learning from the data that's being collected.
Thanks!

I have really enjoyed watching the live stream from The Storm Report and the Live Chaser Map! It is so exciting to be a fly on the Doghouse wall.
Why is it that sometimes when there is a live feed on The Storm Report, the Doghouse isn't showing up on the chaser map?

Yesterday I found that the weather channel are out with Vortex 2. Are Discovery following them too?
Also, in one video there was a sneaky shot of TIV2 parked behind a DOW. Is this where TIV2 is spending its time?

Hey Byron and Ronan (happy birthday by the way!) So has the lighter TIV2 been treating you guys better this year? I hope so, like the new what looks like spears to anchor into the ground. I do also agree with the previous posts, you guys a part of the vortex crew? Still havent seen anything about it on the weather channel. Had first tornado of the year in vermont not that long ago and i missed it! Best of luck guys look forward to seeing storm chasers this fall

Hey Guys!
I'm so excited you guys have a pretty recent Q&A going on!
I was wondering a couple of things...I'm coming out to the Oklahoma, Kansas Tornado Alley area next year for vacation and all I wanna do when I'm there is chase tornado's...How do you guys get access to the live dopler radars and when is the BEST time to come out??? Any tips for first time chasing???

I am an avid storm watcher in southwest Kansas. I was just curious besides repairs what do you get to do when you have downtime? I love your show and follow your blogs and track you on the maps.

Hey guys!
Enjoying the show from the United Kingdom! Its good stuff!
Just wondering what you do on the drives to pass the time? TIV doesnt seem like the place you would most want to spend a 6-8 hour drive cooped up in!
Thanks!

Does the new armor for TIV2 make it water proof, or at the very least, more water resistant?
Keep up the great work!

I love storms as well as taking pictures of storms. So, naturally, I'm a huge fan of the show<-Just wanted to say that :o)
You guys seem to be very silly, are there many pranks being pulled when you're traveling?
and
What was the scariest moment you had chasing?
Stay awesome and if you guys hit Missouri give me a call. Woot!

Hey, I live in Alliance, Nebraska and yesterday was and pretty spectacular day I've never seen so many storm chasers in one area! We went and took pictures of the TIV which was awesome because I've watched all of your shows and to see that you were actually in our town it was unreal! I work across the street from where you guys ate dinner that night. Hope to see you guys again this summer!

I've heard that Dr. Wurman is working with VORTEX 2. Just wanted to know if Josh is still with you guys. I've heard a number of rumors that Josh wasn't going to be on the show this year, is that right?
I saw DOWs 5 and 6 on the recent video upload (Down Day), so it looks like Josh is with you guys.
Just thought I'd ask.
...and to kind of answer Robert's question, I think the TIVs cost about $100,000 a piece, if I recall hearing correctly.
