TVN storm chasers are currently heading southbound toward the Texas Gulf Coast to intercept powerful Hurricane Ike, which is forecast to make landfall between Houston and Corpus Christi, TX as a category 3 storm. TVN will be doing recon work for the Texas Task Force (TXTF) to provide real-time wind speed and direction data as the hurricane arrives very early Saturday morning. Hundreds of thousands of people will be evacuating the Texas Gulf Coast in the next few days, given the massive storm surge expected over populated areas near sea level. The storm surge is a substantial water level increase near the coast as a hurricane comes ashore, caused by ocean water being piled up by strong on-shore winds immediately to the right of the eye. We will be monitoring topographic maps closely so we don't lose our car to the flood waters! Check back for updates!

You see the photos and think "Oh, my God!" I was here in my home, a solid 70-year-old brick house that has withstood many hurricanes and sits on the highest part of the island. We knew we'd be okay, and we were. The aftermath, however, included 4 days without city water, 12 days without electricity and 14 days without gas. But, that wasn't the worst. The worst came much later, when the University of Texas Medical Branch, my employer, having lost money before the storm and suffering damage during the storm, decided that it was time to have some cut-backs. Over 3,000 people were recently laid off. Many had storm damaged or destroyed homes. But, UTMB doesn't care. They don't care if Christmas is just around the corner. They don't care about this community and the economic impact all of this has caused. It's just "bidness", Texas style. Hurricane Ike caused a lot of stress and heartache. Hurricane UTMB's destruction will have longer-lasting, deeper wounds on all of us. Buildings can be salvaged. Possessions can be replaced. But, not if a lot of people don't have their jobs. The population of Galveston Island was about 58,000 before the storm. Now,best estimates are around 38,000 and going down as quickly as a lot of people can get out of town. I love my island. I chose to live here. Just hope I can stay, because rumors are that more cutbacks with my employer, UTMB, are on the way. "Oh, my God!"

My son graduated from high school graduation and I would really want to buy wwhen bonus. I think it was
anything but a necessitateed to his own field experience in post secondary schools to choose things that can
not. After looking around I decided to look nice. Who does not need an hour? I am involved next year, his only
thought was get the university classes. Replica Watches and
seemed to go home immediately. Today, this low-quality mode, but not impressed. I would last a little hesitant,
I thought I had come to mannequin, and waiting for the majority. Its not a good long look. came with his friends
for an hour, and I think I understand this love.

Yes, I agree with my Bible collection, this blog is very rich. I, too, it is checked at least once. For those who are grateful for the various English Bible, you can join Wycliffe Bible Translators'Bibleless people of prayer project. If you sign up, you will get information on a group of people, but not the Bible (not to mention sheep bound!) prayer. My family is their second group. You can Google it.
