Well it looks like I won't have to sport a mullet after all...
TVN intercepted several tornadoes in Northern Kansas yesterday, including a beautiful elephant trunk/stovepipe tornado that was the first hose produced by this incredible storm. We decided to leave the Nebraska storms early because they were very "messy" and high-precipitation in nature, and it was definitely the right decision. We arrived on the Kansas storm just in time for the first tornado, which was moving eastward at a very high rate of speed. We drove north in the path of the tornado and deployed the probe with about 15 seconds to spare, and then reversed to safety narrowly missing a large piece of debris spiraling in the debris cloud!! Here are pictures of the tornado, but for the HD probe video...tune in to Storm Chasers this fall!

I am so jealous awesome guys, what power was it?
I hope you get more of these, did the probe get the data you wanted?
Keep up the good work and as before watch the skies and play safe
Rich
Id rather see a tornado than a bad mullet any day

Stunning! Much more interesting than pictures of a mullet.
Take care and report back to us in one piece. Good luck and best wishes on your next chase.

I saw you guys yesterday! Pretty awesome little storm wasnt it? We saw your interceptors headed east into Glen Elder Kansas. Figured you were gonna cross the dam. Those are some pretty impressive vehicles. Proud to be chasing alongside you guys! Too bad those tornadoes wouldn't stay on the ground. Good showing anyways. Keep Safe! Good Luck!
