Pepsi Japan is launching a new taste sensation -- a ruby red soft drink called Salty Watermelon. Salted watermelons are a traditional Japanese summertime snack, and I suspect it's pretty tasty. It has that salty-sweet thing we all crave. And if you've ever eaten a watermelon and feta salad, you'll know what I'm taking about. This flavor is not new to Japanese consumers as a packaged good. In 2008, Nestle Japan started selling a “Watermelon and Salt” Kit Kat candy bar. The Pepsi drink will go on sale in July for 140 yen (about $1.75) per bottle.
