Don't Try to Stop Me, Smee

September 17, 2008

Captain_hook_3Two of us author PowrTalk. One of us got the harebrained idea to write a speech for the next President that paints the vision of a New Energy Order. The thinking is to develop a speech democratically, with input from our readers and others, to forward for use by the winner of the election. And while the idea (and the thought that the speech might polish up enough to merit use by the next President) is audacious, the draft at this point is...well...is not good.

So the one of us is trying to get the other of us to dissuade the one of us from proceeding, even as the one of us threatens to publish the draft speech by week's end. Much as Dustin Hoffman's Captain Hook threatens suicide even as he implores Smee to stop him:

Hook & Smee

(note Smee filching food as he prepares a plate for Hook, then spits out something he doesn't particularly like)

Watch as our little hostage drama unfolds, and give some thought to what the next President ought to tell us about a New Energy Order. Comment to this post now if you have something you think should be included in the speech.
