New Fuel Cell Funding

While much of the clean tech press is dominated by stories of wind and solar power generation, and lately, hybrid-electric and full electric vehicles, fuel cells remain a promising vector for exploration. As this article points out, there are pluses and minuses to fuel cells, but the DOE is betting another $15 million some good things will come from additional research.

But remember, hydrogen still has to come from somewhere and it's going to take energy to make it. Maybe wind or solar or nuclear energy. And it still has to be shipped and delivered to service stations where it can be purchased. Makes you sort of want to cheer louder for better batteries which can be charged at an outlet in the garage while you snooze, or maybe whilst downing a Big Kahuna burger with your favorite tasty beverage.
