McCain, You'rrrrre Out !!!

T'is the season of races, both presidential and pennant-ential. While baseball still has a plenty of games left to play before the victors are clear, the presidential race is down to one candidate who can credibly claim green energy credentials.

Seems like John McCain, formerly "McCain the Maverick" on new energy and other issues, who hadn't even reached second base yet, thought he'd found a shortcut to home. By reversing direction on the base paths and picking "Drill Baby Drill" as his running mate, McCain attempted to circumvent the rules of politics (let alone physics), renouncing renewable energy for Alaskan oil.

Fortunately, the ump had his eye on the play all along and called the runner out. Here's author and NY Times journalist Tom Friedman on McCain's sudden  transformation from green energy hero to green energy goat.
