Pilot: Lightning 'Not a Problem'
June 05, 2009
Today I spoke with First Officer Kevin Gillespie, a pilot with a major airline for 20 years. He has lots of experience flying across the Atlantic Ocean and dealing with storms en route to the other side of the pond and back. He shared a bit of what that experience is like.
On flying through thunderstorms…
Once the plane has left radar coverage and starts heading across the ocean, the options of changing course become limited, which means you can’t fly waaaay out of the way of a thunderstorm…

Familiar with the aircraft??? A230??
