View Harrowing Encounter Between Scientists and Sperm Whales

Sperm_whale1b_3 Emotions run deep in the below footage captured by scientists studying sperm whales off the coast of Northern Chile. The research vessel, with engines turned off, slowly approached drifting sperm whales, which remained oblivious until...Well, you just have to watch and listen to the raw and real audio. Scientists now think the whales were sleeping. If so, this could be the very first footage ever taken of sperm whales sleeping in the open sea.
