Top 10 Coolest Statues in the World
August 26, 2009
There's nothing better than traveling the world. But if funds prevent you from doing that on a regular basis the 2nd best thing is cruising flickr which is exactly what Liz Suman did this weekend--a virtual tour of the Top 10 Coolest Statues in the World. Click on the nose to start.
Pointer Finger, Stockholm
And if you like Top 10s, be sure to check out these.

@Paul yeah, the Hand in the Sand is pretty cool; and I know someone who is in Uruguay right now so I'll be sure to tell them to visit it! My own personal regret, as a WDC native, is that we left out The Awakening http://ffffound.com/image/cee0ccf4a4b06136e4278b184b342f3071f931ea

@Jack L. Crain lol thanks. I've always tried to walk that thin line between "cool" and "silly" :p

I would call these that top ten silliest statues in the world.

@ Jonathan: I LOVE "La Mano" - Thinks for the tip.

Hiya,
love these. But the Zizkov Television Tower in Prague should be on the list.
Those creepy crawling things still haunt me.

@Krkan Iz onoga što možemo reći koristeći Babelfish kao prevoditelj mislite našu listu je dosadno kao i gledanje sporta. Ipak, hvala za tvoj komentar.

@Miniclip From what I could find the melting blue cow was part of the Cow Parade Budapest and erected in 2006 for an outdoor art exhibit.

@Dean hmmm a gnome holding what looks to be butt plug. I should suggest that to the folks at Blizzard for World of Warcraft.

Pointer Finger is great.

Very cool statues. The Businessman with the head within the wall is typical picture of an average employee.

Meni je ovo sve sranje što ne naprave nešto normalno jebem ih mahnite.

@Multimedia Design - that's a shark, not a cow.

These are really cool, but I think that there is one that should have made the top ten list that didn't, and that is "La Mano" (The Hand) in Punta Del Este, Uruguay

Hehe.. I like the blue cow. But that has to be advertising?

"Pointer Finger" and "Shark Crash" stand out for me -- A popsicle stick stuck in melting cow's behind? Hmm, not really.

Wow, that is WAY cool dude!

I wonder how some of the neighbours feel about having a cow sticking out of next-doors roof?!!

@JKrauss I love the HuffPo bits--I voted on the worst movie trailers the other day. I'm not sure who Tina is but we have a friend who write for HuffPo so I'll ask him. Thanks for the idea.

These are great. Flickr is a field of gems in many ways. HuffPo and the Daily Beast run articles like these - have people vote. You should get this onto Tina's desk!
