It May Not Have Been Dirty...But It sure Wasn't Easy!

Mike vs. Doll

Much of what happened at QVC 15 years ago has been blocked from memory, blessedly.  According to my journal, (and some well-preserved VHS tape I keep locked away,) those overnight shifts were benchmarks in broadcasting, and should be carefully preserved as examples of what can happen if you ask a sleep deprived actor to sell collectable dolls on live television with no time delay.

Mike, I love it. I cannot lie the old QVC videos on You Tube have long been a source of entertainment for my girlfriends & I. This one is good but nowhere near as awesome as the one where you point out that it is in fact weight & not love lifting up the Precious Moments on the see-saw.
As an aside, you are better looking now than you were 15 years ago!!!

Wow, i'm from Singapore, and I love to watch Dirty Jobs on Discovery Channel. Best show of all man. Mike Rowe Rocks!!

Hi Mike,
I'm a middle school science teacher who LOVES to discuss your latest show every week with my students. I can usually tie it into a lesson...maybe not what we are studying at that particular moment but hey, not only is science fun...but it can be dirty fun!
Keep up the great dirty work!

Hi Mike,
I am a kindergarten teacher in a small town in Michigan. I have to ask...did you know that your biggest fan is 5 years old...he is in my classroom. He is always excited to tell us about your newest job. He can give us the details like you wouldn't believe, almost too many at times...lol! When he talks about your show you would think he was a 45 year old man in a 5 year old body. He loves you and your crew. There have been several times this year that we have started to get a little bit dirty in our room with a craft or project and he will chime in with "This sure is a DIRTY job" or "This is a job for Mike Rowe". His enthusiasm for your show is great. He has made your show very popular with several kids in our class. He is your biggest fan and best spokesman. I don't know if there is anyway that this would be possible but if you could send him a picture or note you would make him the happiest little boy ever. Thank you sooooo much for your time.
-Teaching your biggest fan!-

Mike, that is the cleanest I have ever seen your fingernails--and believe me, I look.

Freaking hilarious!!!

Why is it that men just keep getting better-looking with age, while women get wrinkles, gray hair, and droopy everything? It's totally not fair! Mike, I love watching those old QVC videos on YouTube!

Dude, I am SO sorry! Did you lose a bet, or what?

Hello Mike! I just finished watching the 100th episode and really enjoyed it. I have a question of Mike though; Has there ever been a "dirty job" so gross it actually caused you to be SICK and unable to do the job? Or even just plain SICK? Thanks

Is it true that you are related to Jim Varney? At first I thought..no couldn't be. Then after looking at photos of you both, there is a startling resemblance.

Oh man, that's some painful stuff.
Perhaps you would like a spot in the WWW domain I just bought, fakeenthusiasm.com

Long time DJ fan, but this is my first visit to Mike's World. The doll video as well as many episodes of Dirty Jobs are proof that a man stuck in a hopelessly humiliating situation will still retain his dignity by not taking himself too seriously. A great lesson for all of us. Mike, keep up the great work!

Mike, you are much better looking as you age. Please make sure to remove your shirt at least once on each episode--we old broads need the excitement.

Is it the dirty part of the dirty jobs that make you keep getting cuter and cuter every year? Pretty soon you will blind us with your looks. Now if THAT doesn't make your head swell, nothing will!

From another Baltimore native---love "Dirty Jobs" and most of all, your comments about what you're doing at the moment.... the video about Merry, the doll, was too funny. I'm still laughing, which will help explain any typos... so how long did you keep that job??! When is the DVD coming out with all your clips of the QVC channel adventures?!

Now Mike, just how many people /really/ bought those Katsaks?

;) Inquiring minds want to know.

Oh shoot, this is absolutly funny. Mike, you are too funny! My dad and I love your show Dirty Jobs. and my dad didn't believe me that it is you on Deadliest Catch, until I pointed you out in the credits. silly old man. I just have one quick question, I know you are always busy, so I will keep this short.

What does your wife/girlfriend think of you being "dirty" all the time?

I know I am late on your birthday, but Happy Birthday! and I hope you continue to do Dirty Jobs and Deadliest Catch.

You will always be my favorite.

~Your faithful fan

first off sorry, i must laugh, seems like it would be one of the most annoying jobs, and for someone who wants to be in show business, it must be like a slap in the face. i could never see myself doing anything like that, but you job, i could see me doing, a different job every week or so, not sure how many jobs you do in a week. but i am sure i could handle it, i have had my fair share of dirty jobs, from janitorial, to newspaper, and many others. you want a sidekick? :D lol well keep up the dirty work.

well mike thats got to be a kick in the paints , but it's rilly cool to see the steping stons to the way of stardom . keep up the good work

I found this one earlier and was only about 99% sure it was you.. then I stumbled across this lovely blog and you have confirmed the last 1%. Thank you for making me laugh for a solid 5 minutes straight. Love it!

If you ever want to do SNL , I have the Doll

Hahahahahaha!! I laughed so hard through the entire clip!! I have to say that you making up your own lyrics to "What a Merry Little Christmas Day" was hilarious, and I even heard someone in the background laughing, too!
Did you get fired from QVC? No offense, but you're better at your job now than you were as a QVC host. However, your sense of humor never changed, and I love that about you.

By the way, that's the cleanest we've ever seen your fingernails.
Pretty. ;)

OMG - You looked just like Gavin Newsom in that QVC clip! How scary is that?!!

(Yep, you're definitely better looking now!)

Stay Dirty!
