By my fourth birthday, I had two very distinct ideas of what I wanted to be when I grew up: a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader or a bus driver. Alas, neither panned out, so I became a writer instead. I’m a Midwest native (the accent comes out after a few glasses of wine) but I also spent eight years in lovely Portland, OR before moving to the east coast in 2004. I’ve got two fiction novels under my belt – Grosse Pointe Girl: Tales from a Suburban Adolescence and The Girl I Wanted to Be, both published by Simon & Schuster. I’m also the producer of the Washington DC chapter of “Mortified Live” and have contributed to a variety of websites and publications including Daily Candy and Swindle. Currently, I’m working on a new book, teaching creative writing in New York, and professing my love for cupcakes, Tina Fey, and reality television (among other things) via my blog, Sarah Disgrace.
