Some say three’s a crowd, but I’ve always been a “the more, the merrier” type of gal, so I’m pretty psyched for the final trifecta of this season’s Meerkat Manor: The Next Generation episodes airing back-to-back tomorrow night starting at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Hey, wait a second … I just realized my three-episodes-in-one-sitting feast also means my weekly meerkat fix is going to come to a close. It’s sort of like when you’re reading a book you love and you’re super-eager to find out how it all plays out, but at the same time don’t want it to end. And speaking of, why must all good things come to an end? I think it would make more sense for all good things to go on and on (e.g., Meerkat, cupcakes, low humidity), and all bad things (Heidi and Spencer, I'm looking in your direction) to come to an end. I’m just saying.
Anyhoo, don’t forget to tune in tomorrow! I propose we all make a night out of it, and only prepare or serve things that come in threes or triangles, like…Neapolitan ice cream! Be sure to come back for our open thread discussion tomorrow night to share your thoughts, and check out our super-duper recap that will be posted Saturday covering all three episodes. Also, we'll have a final open thread early next week where you can sound off on your favorite moments from the entire season!

I have been watching Meerkat Manor for a few years now and LOVE this show. I have even got my boyfriend watching it. When I read that this was the series finale, it just about broke my heart. I have fond memories of the show but please don't let this be the end! And please bring back Sean. His soothing voice brought so much to the series, it was almost like he was a part of the action and not just telling a story. When Mozart and then Flower died, especially the Rose of the Kalahari, you could hear it in his voice that this was something that was totally unexpected. Something that broke his heart. Please bring the show back!!

I have had a few troubles with this year's season of Meerkat. First Stockard Channing's narration seems kind of corny and less professional. Then Animal Planet changed the time of the new episode from 9pm to 8:30pm with no warning. Then they air the three last episodes with no warning. I even received my weekly email reminder, which did not indicate the change. I have missed many shows and am too busy to chase it down on the weekend or during the week. I am very disappointed in how the show was treated this year by Animal Planet Exec.
On the other hand, I feel the show has aired more of the Meerkat's natural habitat and behavior by following more of groups. I would like to know more about the Aztecs and how they ended their Summer.
If Stockard Channing continues to narrate, the writers need to be less cheesy.

MY thoughts go out to all those Rocket Dog fans. I was hammered, when I saw she was bitten by a snake. This is what killed her mother Flower.
IT turns out, however, she has quite a fighting spirit, and survives!
Zorro, from the commando's
was Rocket Dog's Brother, he was picked off by a hawk, and is gone.

I have watched the Meerkats for several years now, and I thought by now someone would have caught the grammatical errors in your shows. The writers should know better.
Meerkats is plural. Team is a single entity. Family is a single entity.
The meerkats have found a new burrow.
The team/family has found a new burrow.
Members of the team have found a new burrow.

If Animal Planet ends the Meerkat series, they will da*m sure lose a viewer, period. Oh and your intro to the thread "like a good book it must end" ... puh-leeze .. we are not stupid. AP, I'd rethink this if I were you. Evidently you're unaware you're about to break many, many hearts ...

I can't believe it is the end of the season already. I still miss Flower & Mozart, Mitch is my favorite now. Did we ever learn what happened to Shakespeare? I also miss Sean Astin...Stockard Channing is good but Sean seemed to add so much more to it. I think it was in the sound of excitement in his voice.

I too can't believe that the season has already come to an end. It seems like we were all waiting in anticipation for the season to begin and in a flash it's over.
In addition to MM I've had a summer filled with lots and lots of meerkats, from F.E. to San Diego Zoo to poor Chico at the L.A. Zoo to the Living Desert and the 3 legged meerkat Tulle all the way back home to my own local zoo with 5 healthy meerkats. I've been so concerned with the rumors regarding season 5 and truly hope that they are just that, rumors.
I can't imagine a summer without Meerkat Manor to tune into to watch the latest antics in the Kalahari.
I would love to see even more families followed in season 5 especially since so many original Whiskers are now apart of other groups.
Please say there will be a season 5 and 6 and 7.
But until season 5 airs I would love to see specials about meerkats, the habitating of wild groups, pups being pups, meerkats being meerkats and season 4 rerunned.

Series Finale? Not season? It's like loosing Flower and Mozart all over again. What will happen to all the little ones without the series to make people aware of them. If it wasn't for MM Chico the Lonely Meerkat at the L.A. Zoo would not have people desperatly trying to get him a friend and better treatment.
Oh, Please Do Another Season. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
