Iced, Iced Baby ... Vanilla Ice Fails to Beat Rap, Beats Wife Instead

Hopefully, this is not the newest trend. Earlier this week, I wrote about an 80's pop culture icon, An American Werewolf in London's David Naughton, someone who I respected; allegedly decided it was okay to toss his wife around when he felt out of sorts.

Now, another pop culture relic from the following decade, Vanilla Ice, has allegedly decided that it was okay to smack his wife around as well. The 40-year-old Ice (real name Robert "Robbie" Matthew Van Winkle) was arrested on a charge of misdemeanor domestic battery against his wife, Laurie Van Winkle, on April 10 in Wellington, Florida.

Vanilla Ice is best known as the white rapper/dancer that scored a massive #1 hit in 1990 with the track Ice Ice Baby. The success of the song and video was displayed on television screens across the world as it became one of the most replayed videos in the history of MTV. Ice parlayed his musical success into a guest spot on Saturday Night Live and even a starring role in his own movie, Cool as Ice.
