Slippery When Drunk: Bon Jovi Guitarist Richie Sambora Arrested for DUI

This past Tuesday, Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora was charged with driving under the influence in Laguna Beach, California. The 48-year-old mega-superstar was pulled over right before 11:00 p.m. by police for driving erratically in his black Hummer.

Sambora was asked to step out of the vehicle and perform a battery of sobriety tests, which he promptly failed. He was then escorted to the local police department where he allegedly cooperated with the authorities and even submitted to a blood test in lieu of a breathalyzer.

Sambora has had a rough go at life lately. Last year, he endured two stints in rehab. He also parted ways with his girlfriend actress Denise Richards. Just recently, his divorce from actress Heather Locklear was finalized.

It appears as if Sambora’s most recent troubles may be compounded. Reports state that Sambora and Heather Locklear’s daughter, Ava, 10, was in the vehicle at the time of his arrest. There has also been information leaked that there was another juvenile female in the Hummer. Laguna Beach police are allegedly delving into further investigation of the matter. There has been talk of a possible child endangerment charge tacked on to the DUI.

Sambora’s first hearing on the matter is not scheduled until May 7.
