Animal Planet, NWF and Oil Spill
06/28/2010
My name is David Mizejewski and I'm a naturalist with the National Wildlife Federation (NWF). NWF and Animal Planet have a long history of working together. I hosted the Animal Planet series Backyard Habitat and also appeared in the mini-series Springwatch USA and the Nim's Island, Our World: A Reel Thinking Event. I currently write the blog "Animal Oddities" for animalplanet.com.
NWF is also one of Animal Planet's ROAR partners and that is continuing right here with this blog. To that end, I'll be regularly posting here with information on how BP Oil Spill Disaster in the Gulf of Mexico is affecting animals and what you can do to help.
I recently spent a week down in Venice, Louisiana, on the front lines of the disaster. I was down there to see the tragedy first-hand, and to be part of NWF's effort to tell the story of the wildlife and the people of the Gulf as they struggle to survive this monumental oil spill.
Check out this video of my first
trip out on the water, then visit NWF's oil spill website to find out how you can help.

Please come to the Gulf Coast and help save the animals. BP is killing them. We need help.
