Beautiful pictures and a great comment about Tim and following orders. I am his mom and yes I did tell Russell that if Tim did not follow orders he was to call me and I would take care of the problem. I read your blog everyday and really enjoy the pictures. Tell Tim I am still rooting for him and pray for his safe return. Hope everyone makes it to the top. God Speed.

Greg: I'm so happy that you compose these blogs and provide us pictures. This is a treasure to the friends and family of the climbers. It's precious to us. Thank you. To my dear friend Betsy, as I said, your beautiful soul is beyond the summit of Everest. I'm so proud of you dear girl. So filled with joy at your accomplishments. God bless you and be well! Love, S

Thank you very much for yet another really interesting report!
I understand Mogens when he is reluctant to give up his plans to not use oxygen. But apart from Russells arguments one also has to wonder if anyone ever should climb that high up without oxygen. Studies shows that it's not good for the brain and the question is if it's worth that price.
I don't want to spoil anyones party but Mogens seems like a nice person so it would be sad if he had any irreversible problems.

Hi Tim's Mom! Just wanted to let you know how kind and polite your son has been. Congratulations! You did well :)
I'm so happy that Russ has put him on a summit team. He's going to do very well, I just know it.

Mogens is a tough guy and I understand his principles but...I'd love to see him summit, O's or no O's.

Beautiful picture of Everest in the alpenglow. Makes my mouth water and legs shake.

Take a big breath Team and PUSH!

Hello Greg! Thanks for a great blog. I look forward to reading your entries every couple of days as I am a big fan of "Everest: Beyond the Limit" and can't wait for the next series. I wonder if you would write about a couple of topics I never seem to see when I read about Everest. I understand the long and arduous acclimatization procedures climbers must endure before summiting, but what I'd like to know more about is how long one stays acclimatized. In other words, how long can you stay at base camp and take trips into Tibet before climbing again without re-acclimatizing? Also, no one seems to write about the trip down Everest. How long does that take and what overnight stops are made, if any? What danger, if any, is there in descending from high altitude too fast? Best wishes to all on the team! :-)

Dee

May you all be blessed with a safe journey.

Good update. I hope Mogens keeps going without that oxygen. Its nice to see people pushing themselves to climb in better style than most.

And Sasha, there are dozens of world class climbers all over the Himalaya climbing without oxygen right now, many of them in alpine style. Just because Russell suggests using oxygen, does not mean it is the "right" way.
