Stick to Science

April 30, 1897: British physicist Joseph Thomson stuns the audience at the Royal Institution when he announces he’s discovered a particle a thousand times smaller than an atom. He calls them corpuscles. We call them electrons. He suggests that electrons are like plums spread through plum pudding. He was wrong about that. See how he made the discovery.
