Look for new boats to join them on the big, bad Bering. (You'll get more on them later.) Expect 16 episodes starting in April along with a new companion Web series, right here, to bring you another side of the Catch.

By the way, many of you have asked about Phil. He’s been meeting with his doctor for regular check-ups. Will he be back this season? You’ll have to wait and see….

I second that as well and I can't believe that they allowed the NW to come back, considering what he did last King crab season. But, hey, Discovery only worry is money and getting people in watching the seires, and snice NW brings in the viewers they will kept on bring Sig's boat back no matter what he might do.

What exactly did Sig do? Life is marketing folks and the bank don't accept lukefish! Phil is on his boat FYI.

well I see that PIPHS is still harping on the same old thing...grow up...if it bothers you so much then just quit watching the show...this is a business for them and all the other boats...I am glad they are all back and wish them all a safe a prosperous season...

PIPHS, Minarvia, Meghan, Lunar, or whatever you are calling yourself these days...don't you think it's time to drop it? No one really cares, except you. We get it that you dislike the Hansens...seriously. Your one-woman vendetta is beyond old. Those men have more class in their pinkie than you'll ever have.
Posted by: SickandTired | October 17, 2008 at 10:25 PM
Oh, yeah, class, pff! To me class is staying true to who you are and not back stabbing an industry that your father help bulid. To me the ones that have REAL class is Phil and Johntan who were offered the deal and refuse it.

I don't get why you are so bothered by what Sig does or doesn't do, you don't work with him or even know him, or any of the other Captains. Johnathan and Phil weren't as bothered by the deal as you seem to think, they didn't leave the show or refuse to appear with Sig. And of course if they are that bothered by what he did and stuck with the show and appearances, what does that make them? Seems to me you are the only one with the problem here.

PIPHS, maybe you should talk to Sig before you continue this vendetta. He was not dealt a good deal, and was lied to by one this countries largest retail chains.
FYI, he had no idea that that was Russian Crab until after W-Mart started stocking it, and then it was too late to get out of the deal.
Get over yourself.

Yes, A Fan of the Show, I agree with the fact that he was lied to, but if that was so, then why has he gone on a radio show and said that he not sorry about doing it? Despite the suggestions that he should. I have talk to Sig via e-mail and when I asked about it, he avoided the issue all together to point that my e-mails was considered as a form of cyber stalking that I would recived no more respones from him any more.
If he didn't know that it was Russian, then why he did he issue that press releash, that conviently dispeared from the website, that he hope that this would of open new markets.
No, it wasn't Wal-Mart that did the deal, it was Gobal Seafood that did the deal, and the boxes being shipped to Wal-Mart that was apart of the deal.

As a Uk fan i'm pleased to see the comeback of the NW. Walmart own ASDA in de UK. They have destroyed ASDA and its ethos. i'd say PIPHS that Wal Mart are a particualrly bad lot. They also deal heavily with Vietnamese crab fisheries

You can't blame a guy for trying to take advantage of his 15 minutes of fame, can you? ...Forgive and forget PIPHS. The Hansens have done much more for the crabbing industry and charity then they've done against. He's more then made up for bad judgement on 1 individual project. Look at how many successful ones he's had though--raising money for charity, taking on a Make a Wish Foundation child, repeatedly donating to the Fishermen's fund, taking care of his family, his business, his boat, etc...Everybody's right, you're the one with the issue. Think about it...

to start with, what Walmart wants Walmart gets. Secondly, Sig was faced with a lawsuit that would have taken the NW and his quotas if he said anything against the deal he made. Even after it was revealed that he was lied to. He was told the crab would be Bering Sea crab, not Russian crab. It was not until he saw the packages did he realize the mistake he made. By then it was too late.
yes he made a mistake, but the crabbing industry has forgiven him, his family and friends have forgiven him, most of his fans, and a lot of the non-NW fans have forgiven him.
You seem to be the only one that has not forgiven him. And constantly emailing someone after they have asked you to stop is considered stalking. Bringing the issue to this site can also be considered stalking.
Even Jesus forgave the Romans for crucifying him, why can't you just let this go?

Are you STILL bringing this up? Jesus... give it a rest would ya? Nobody wants to hear you complain. I'm sorry if you have such a big issue, but this is for fans of the show. I'm pretty sure most people are here to talk about what they LIKE. Seriously, you're bringing me down and totally killing my excited mood.

Okay, I didn't know that he was caught in a bind with this whole thing and he is still caught in it. But, if he came clean about it and how he was lied and used, then I would of forgive him about this, but he didn't. I have issues with that.
Posted by: PIPHS | October 20, 2008 at 02:47 PM
I am sure Sig stays up at night worrying about you forgiving him. If you have issues with Sig then take it up with Sig, instead of harping on old news all over the internet. At least you have quit trashing them and then saying you respect them in the same sentence.

Sorry to burst the bubble, but Sig stays up by thinking about my skills

And that is your whole problem in a nutshell....you don't know ANYTHING, yet continue to spout off everywhere you can find about this topic. If you'll READ, you'll see that Sig was prevented from saying anything or he'd be facing a lawsuit. I'm sure making YOU happy and worrying about YOUR forgiveness is pretty far down his list of things to be concerned about.

Sick and Tired: I'm sure making YOU happy and worrying about YOUR forgiveness is pretty far down his list of things to be concerned about.
To be on the list would imply that he even has the slightest clue as to who she is, and I seriously doubt he has any idea who she is.

This was the first time that I heard about this, if it was posted somewhere else, nobody told me about it.

And it was somebody else's job to tell you, you post trying to appear you have knowledge on a subject about which you know very little, maybe you should have taken the time to research before you started your little campaign to smear Sig's name all over the internet. What this all boils down to is what you have been told numerous times on numerous websites - Sig's business decisions are Sig's business decisions, neither you nor I have to know everything or anything about them. And if you han't been so quick to jump to conclusions about his business decision last year you might have learned something at the time. But your mind was made up about this from day one and hasn't changed since then.

PIPHS: "This was the first time that I heard about this, if it was posted somewhere else, nobody told me about it."
Well, I suppose you should be happy that Sig doesn't sue YOU for libel, slander and defamation of character then, eh? You should be particularly happy your campaign to get this "story" on 60 Minutes and other major news outlets failed.
Ditto what NJGril said. I'll add that I think you owe NUMEROUS people a major apology for the havoc you've tried to wreak.

Can anyone tell me when the first new show air and the times.

Joe--If season 5 follows the same pattern as the previous seasons, it will air sometime in the Spring of 2009, somewhere's around April. Til then, lots of filming takes place.

I don't care about deals or anything like that. I am just glad we will see all our favorite captains and their crew back for another season!! As a fan that has followed this show since episode 1, I have to say they all have earned my respect to get the crab I love so much!! I never knew what was involved in getting crab until then and to be truthful, I would like to say to all who bad mouth any captain, that you must have a job thats more dangerous then they have! For a business that never has the same profits year after year and the uncertainity of everyone returning to the docks, I would be happy just knowing they all returned safely to their families and the profited from that years fishing! Instead of bad mouthing, trying praying for their safety and return yourself to your real world, not theirs!! I'm sure you have a job, family, and life of your own? Worry about yourself a little more and let them live their own lives!
CAN NOT WAIT FOR SEASON 5!!!!!

How dare you take advantage of our care and concern for Phil Harris and use it for advertising to be sure we'll tune in for next season. You are manipulating us for your own gain. Get a grip and quit playing games.
