DC Cupcakes Takes Manhattan: Grand Opening of Georgetown Cupcake Soho!

After over half a year of planning and construction -– we did it!!! We are excited to announce that DC Cupcakes has officially arrived in Manhattan! 

This past weekend, we opened our very first location of Georgetown Cupcake in New York City! You’ll get to see all the highs, lows, tears, fears, panic attacks and excitement involved in opening the new shop in an upcoming episode of DC Cupcakes! 

We decided to open a new location of Georgetown Cupcake in New York because of all of the requests we received from fans in the area. Then, we found the perfect storefront in the historic Soho neighborhood of New York.  Well, it was not so perfect. It was an abandoned cast-iron building that needed a ton of T-L-C — it was covered with graffiti in the front and completely demolished inside. It looked like a bombed prison, but we saw the potential. We wanted this location to have the same magic as our flagship in Georgetown and create the same energetic and fun environment. 

After many long days of construction, several bootcamp-style training sessions with new staff, and back-to-back all-nighters during the final week, we had an AMAZING Grand Opening!  Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us! We are so excited to meet all of our wonderful fans in the New York City area and are absolutely thrilled to bring DC Cupcakes to NYC! 

As we like to say, if we can BAKE it here, we can BAKE it anywhere!!!
