THANK YOU AND SEE YOU SOON!
December 16, 2008
Well, what do you say? That's it. That's all. I’'m done. No more lions for me. No more waking up in the African bush and watching the sun come up. No more falling asleep listening to all the animals hanging out around the tent. No more...no more.
I don't have the words that can sum up this experience. I am not articulate enough to convey what this meant to me. There is no way that I actually realize how important this project will be in my life until I have the benefit of time and hindsight. So what can I say that is fitting enough to end six months of blogging? I have no idea how to say something that is meaningful enough to give this journey the profundity that it deserves.
The only thing that gives me comfort in my inability to say goodbye, is that lions have no language, that I know of, for goodbye. I can tell you a lot of ways lions can say hello, or I missed you or I want to see you and so on. But there is no posture or noise that I know of that lions use for goodbye. I like that about lions. I am not a goodbye person either. So to everyone who has been reading these blogs...see you soon!
Yours Truly,
Dave Salmoni

Dave ..thanks alot, we miss you

Dave, you need to look at the big picture! Do you realize your ignorance is endangering lions? While you are filming this tastless show of yours, you are never in "real" danger are you? Try being out there with lions ALONE! Now, thats a film worth watching! What you are doing is playing games with lions for t.v. which will and maybe already has gotten lions killed. I know a little about film making, editing, cut scenes, bloopers etc, You only show what you want the people to see.How many times were you almost cat-chow, and they had to shoot the lion? not with the camera? my advise to you, leave the LIONS ALONE!You can't control nature, Who do you think you are? I no longer watch Animal Planet because of your selfish actions and stupidity. From Tacoma Washington ...Scott

What you have done is wonderful. You have given people who don't know about the animal life the information to let them know about animal life.

Hi, thanks for the information that you give me presents. I have given this information, you would like to add that. Today there was to be Bayrak. But Flag ( Bayrakçı ) is the symbol of the nation. But the first ad is very important. Advertisers ( reklam ajansları ) have to be work. Us to identify the best source of advertising ( reklam ajansı )agencies.

Dear,
Could you also film humans and their animal like behaviour? - Animal Planet
And shorten your own promotion films in between.
It would display that the border between animals and humans is pretty vague actually.

Hey Dave:
Hope you would come back and check out posts someday although the show is finished.
My name is Kiki. I am from Beijing, China. I just watched your show today, when I wanna look for more about it I just found out the show's done. Anyway, living in the one of the most crowded cities like me, the wild life is far far away just like in another planet. Thanks for completing my life and let me know what is happening there in the wild plain.
By the way, you spoke an excellent Chinese on TV here. lol...... let me know if possibly one day you could do a show in China. I could love to be the translator. I have one year working experience for English magazine BusinessWeek.
All the best
Kiki

Dear Mr. Dave Salmoni I love lions almost as much as you do.
I am from Senegal,West Africa. The lion is the symbol of my country. I am 13 years old and I saw Rogue Nature. When will your new series come to TV? I am looking forward to watching it. Rogue Nature helped me learn so much more about lions like the way you said to fight off a lion with a stick.
You are inspiring.
Sincerely,
Ababacar diop,your #1 fan

Dave,
I am gonna miss reading what you encounter everyday in the African wilderness. Reading your journey among the lions was an amazing thing by itself. I cannot wait to see the show. You are an amazing person to be doing this and to be the voice for the Lions. May God keep you safe where ever you go and what ever you decide to do. We love you. And ya you should add a book to your list of things to do, seriously.
Thank you for letting us be a part of your jouney

Hello,
I discovered your website today only, and I see that your last post was back in December, so I don't know if you'll read this.
The first time I heard about you was...in the Newspaper of the Laurentian University some years ago! I also graduated from this Uni. The article was explaining how you approach the big cats, how you study them by living among them. I remember how much I've been impressed by your mindset/lifestyle and how I wished I would have had an opportunity to meet with you in Sudbury!
I also saw today on TV a report about K. Richardson, a guy who seems to be able to create a strong link with lions as well, but who also opened a "Lion Park" for tourists in South Africa...quite a strange way to show his love for these beautiful creatures don't you think? That's when I remembered about the guy who graduated from the same University as me and who also lived with lions. I was wondering what he became.
I'm now living in Paris, France (you probably guessed I was French just by reading my low level of english!). So, if ever you happen to stop by Paris one day, I'd be happy to meet you : )

Mabel, Videos of what kind? Dave videos? Go to Discovery's website and there should be a link to the store, and perhaps they may have his shows there on DVD otherwise try ebay or Amazon.com. Also check your local library, yeah I know it sounds funny but I was at mine one time, and looking for a movie for the one of my girls and there it was, Living with Tigers. You never know...Good luck.

Dave, your work is truly amazing and very inspiring. Hopefully, you can continue your work on t.v. shows and keep teaching us "city folk" about all lives in the bush for a long time. Would be even sweeter to meet you in person. :)
Most Sincerely,
Akasha in Kansas
