Nearing the End
November 28, 2008
Wow, I can't believe that I haven't written since Remembrance Day! You know, usually I have a great excuse, but not today. I can only say that I write when I feel like it and I guess I haven't felt like it. It's been funny lately. I have been enjoying myself but at the same time I am getting very lonely and homesick. The more that I feel that way, the more I try to remind myself that this is all going to come to an end and I will miss it. So I double my efforts to have fun. Let me catch you up.
Brutus (left) is starting to be less of a buddy to me. I'm not sure if it's just his curiosity running out or if he has decided that I am a regular in his world now and have to fit into the social order. The only place he wants me to fit is as a subordinate, and he has been telling me as much these days.
Rain, rain, rain ... and more rain. The rain has been unseasonably early this year. Camping in the mud and wet and yuckiness is less than fun. The cats seem to be great hunters in the rain, which is cool for them. I haven't had a cooked dinner in 3 days because the rain is too hard for me to make a fire. BOO HOO. I get grumpy when I don't eat well.
I'm starting to feel like it's time to say goodbye to the lions, and being hindered with the inability to articulate my emotion to a point that others feel is valid. That makes me sad.

Dave, you need to look at the big picture! Do you realize your ignorance is endangering lions? While you are filming this tastless show of yours, you are never in "real" danger are you? Try being out there with lions ALONE! Now, thats a film worth watching! What you are doing is playing games with lions for t.v. which will and maybe already has gotten lions killed. I know a little about film making, editing, cut scenes, bloopers etc, You only show what you want the people to see.How many times were you almost cat-chow, and they had to shoot the lion? not with the camera? my advise to you, leave the LIONS ALONE!You can't control nature, Who do you think you are? I no longer watch Animal Planet because of your selfish actions and stupidity. From Tacoma Washington ...Scott

Not saying that the lion would do anything of such liking, then again it is a wild lion so it'd be best to keep a close eye on him.

Brutus and flock to the duty axtraño have something to alguin different from them that constantly watching this, you have always worked hand in felines and adapted to live with them, however for this wild flock despite the months leading together is something other than the normal I suppose it is Brutus must feel strange and occasions do not know how to react to their presence. however I think you get good shots .. continues to maintain your distance and a lot of patience with the herd ..
It must be hard not being able to leave the store with the rain so strong ... I hope it does not get colds ..
as to allow the lions took the decision that you consider most appropriate for the herd as for you ..

I am sure you feel lonely, but you love doing this and it is not something forever. One thing I know I am going to miss when your lion adventure ends is the stories: unrehearsed stories of life amongest the lions, it is amazing and very educational. Again GOD love you for all you do. The one thing I wish is that I was there atleast for a day with you; to experience this magical and at the same time scary enough to make your blood boil experience.

Well, with the name of Brutus it comes to no surprise that he is less friendly. Shall I recall the play by William Shakespeare: Julius Caesar. Both Caesar and Brutus were great friends then Brutus betrayed Caesar and was the last one to stap him after the other conspirators have. Hence, the famous line, "Et tu Brute?" Not saying that the lion would do anything of such liking, then again it is a wild lion so it'd be best to keep a close eye on him. Even in that picture one can read all the agression that Brutus has.
