Is Your Dog A Couch Potato? Tagg Gives You The Answer
11/08/2012
What is your pet really doing when you're not at home?
Is your dog an Olympic contender or a couch potato? The newly enhanced GPS-enabled pet collar device,Tagg, has a new activity-tracking feature which provides you with the real answer! Tagg is a GPS-tracking enabled clip-on that you attach to your pet's collar, which alerts you via text message or e-mail when your pet is outside of their designated home area.

Tagg's new enhancement and software update provides a 24-hour view of the dog’s fitness activity and a handy accelerometer in the collar enables Tagg to track the intensity and duration of your pet's activity; whether it be running, walking or just snoozing in front of the TV. Your pet's activity is even captured and logged into their personalized account where owners can view it in charts and graphs. This information can be viewed through Tagg.com.
“This is a fun way to stay connected with your pet,” Dudley Fetzer, a senior director at Snaptracs, told ABC News. “This gives owners a way to engage with the product and is something you can also talk to a vet about.” The company is working with vets as it hopes the device can help motivate owners to more closely monitor their dog’s activity and exercise, Fetzer explained.

The gadget clips to any dog collar and has a cellular chip inside to send updates to the account. A home docking station knows when the collar is in the area and also doubles as a charger. Learn more at Pettracker.com

Great concept. By attaching this collar, it seems that you can track how much activity your dog gets per day. Thanks for sharing info on this device.

Wow! This is a very amazing gadget. This is really a great concept given the fact that we can still monitor our pet even if we are away from home. I haven't tried this one and I am excited to give it a try, so far what amazes me when it comes to dog gadgets is the Power Dog Leash: Cardio Weights Training while Dog Walking. With this dog gadget, I feel like I am hitting two birds with one stone since I am provided with a balanced cardio exercise by the weights while I am walking my dog.
