Jennifer Aniston Honors Beloved Dog With Tattoo
06/28/2011
Until now, Jennifer Aniston's new tattoo had curious fans wondering what the significance was of the hard-to-read inscription on her right foot. As it turns out, the new tattoo is a permanent tribute to her late dog Norman - a Welsh corgi-terrier mix and constant companion who sadly died last month.
Aniston had Norman’s name tattooed on the inside of her right foot, in honour of their 15 years together. According to our friends at PeoplePets, Norman was a faithful companion to the actress on film sets and at home in Los Angeles.
"I never thought that would ever happen," Aniston said in an interview with ET Canada. "It's just my way to pay homage to him ... forever."

I just had a tattoo of my beloved cat Bosch put on my leg. He loved to pull down my books, open them up and then look like he was reading them! So, I have a picture of him reading a book on the front of my left leg reading a book. He was a wonderful friend, who I miss every day

We found Sandy on a rainy Sunday night, we were told he had been around the neighborhood for about a year. We had Sandy for 17 years, named after Sandy Kofax. I called him my hairy son. I have his name written in Chinese on my back. RIP Sandy. The best dog ever.

I have my 4yr old Pug, Sophia's, front 2 paw prints tattooed on my right thigh, where she always places her feet when she cuddles up next to me. She is my best friend and means the world to me. These are her actual paw prints that were stamped like fingerprints so she can be with me forever.

I have my Bailey's pawprint tattooed on my left shoulder blade. Her name, birth year and death year are also there. She was a Boxer and we lost her in February to cancer. It is of her actual pawprint that the tech made for us after she passed.

My beloved cat Bandit just passed recently. I had her for 12 years and 10 months and she was my furry little pal. I had the vet take her front paw prints for me and I'm going to get them tattooed on my lower ankle and foot. She was a "velcro cat" and used to follow me around like a little dog. This way, she'll be walking with me wherever I go.

I have a tattoo on my chest of my dog Apricot (his pic when he was a pup and had a sweater on). He is only 6 now so he is still young but its a tattoo no one else would ever have.

I have a tattoo of my beloved parakeet bernie who sadly passed away last year. The tattoo is full colour and spans most of my back, a fitting tribute to what was a wonderful parakeet

Awe, that's a really nice coping mechanism. I'm sorry for your loss Jen; losing our pets is losing family and it hurts badly.

I have my dog Dude on my left arm as a tribute to him. He died 3 years ago protecting me from a charging black bear. I may very well not be alive if it was not for him!

Lovely. :) I despise needles far too much to ever even consider a permanent tattoo, but honoring one's animal companion is a good purpose for one...

It is just so hard to say goodbye to the dog you have had for 15 years. I do feel the same sorrow that Jen have felt when she lost Norman, it is really unbearable and having a tattoo in honor of him is one of the acts of love that Jen showed towards her beloved dog.
