Darned cute or disturbing? You decide.There are three things that occur with certainty upon the upon the arrival of Halloween each year :
1. Pumpkin stands eerily appear without warning on every corner.
2. Seemingly normal adults wrongly squeeze themselves into spandex.
3. Well-meaning pets are coerced into dressing up for our own personal entertainment.
According to my calculations, during the month of October some form of Halloween pet costume contest occurs approximately every 5.2 seconds some place in the world. From Toyko to Times Square to Tiburon, pets dressed as ladybugs, Darth Vader and fairies pimp adoring crowds for treats, praise and serious swag.
As a judge at the 19th Annual Helen Woodward Animal Center Pet Costume Contest this year, and a recipient of every and all “shameful pet costume” e-mails in circulation, this week's video showcases the absolute hands-down Top Ten Most Ridiculously Wrong Pet Costumes of 2009.
