Reflective Gear: See and Be Seen on Halloween

As our little ghosts, goblins and gloved ones head out for Halloween festivities this weekend, ensuring safety for all the creeping creatures is of utmost importance - almost as important as scoring an epic load of Halloween candy and tasty treats!

With the days getting shorter and sun setting earlier and earlier (...such a bummer) high-visibility reflective gear is a good idea for trick-or-treaters and accompanying chaperones, be they two or four legged. Here are some of my top picks for reflective safety gear, chosen for their durability and versatility. For additional Halloween pet safety tips, visit Animal Planet's Howl-o-ween Central.

Be safe and be seen on Halloween:

The Beacon

1) Beacon Flashing Safety Light:  Allowing you or your pet to be seen up to 1/2 mile away, The Beacon clips to pet collar or human clothing giving you peace of mind anytime you and your companion are out and about.

Knot A-just Dog Collar

2) Ruffwear's Knot-a-Just Reflective Dog Collar: Inspired by climbing rope, this  strong, comfortable rope dog collar settles into fur for a cozy, streamlined fit and features reflective trim for safety.

Reflective Safety Jacket

3) Reflective Safety Track Jacket: Whether you’re trick-or-treating, camping, hiking, or running, this safety jacket featuring 3M™ Scotchlite™ reflective trim offers ultimate visibility in low-light conditions.

4) Lighted L.E.D. Dog Collar: You and your dog will be seen on those night walks with this L.E.D. collar that is visible up to 1000 feet in the dark (pictured above on Lab)

My personal mission is to bring you a daily dose of "creature culture" with the goal to inspire, connect, educate and entertain. More Janet >
