Leigh Marine Occhi Revisited
November 16, 2009
I spent a week in Tupelo, Mississippi, this past summer looking into the mysterious disappearance of 13-year-old Leigh Marine Occhi. The resulting in-depth story proved to be one of the most popular series on this site. Since that time, there has been a renewed interest in the case. Earlier today, CNN chose to feature Leigh's case on their site, along with an article written by Alexis Weed, a producer for the Nancy Grace show. Perhaps now, with all of the publicity that Leigh's case is getting, the person(s) responsible will be more forthcoming.

I read the article today and then popped on here to see if you commented. Thank-you for your in-depth look at it. I'm confidant this will be solved in my lifetime. I appreciate your hard work on keeping the story alive.

I hate to sound accusing, but the mother's behavior is suspect to me. Leigh was going to a school open house, to be picked up by her grandmother. So why was Vickie alarmed enough to leave work when Leigh didn't answer the phone. She wasn't supposed to be there! Sounds to me like the mother did a little overcompensating. Unless the open house was supposed to start much later in the day? That's possible but it doesn't say so in the article.

Apparently I have a stalker. I noticed today that the same person (IP addy gives them away) votes my articles down every single day. How sweet of them to think of me on a daily basis like that :-)

LOL Mr Lohr...I think youre being humble when assuming you have 1 stalker, unfortunately those in the media and reporting industry seem to draw all types. I think you do a Good job with what you're given and most (who arent biased by personal grudges or psychosis) would Agree.
Digging into the Cold Cases swept under the rug by society is a Good thing to do, and it shows that you care about Truth, and Justice for the Victims...my hat tips to you.

I looked at the CNN article and there is someone there by the name of GabeG who is claiming he was part of the investigation and is answering everyones questions and is insinuating (in my opinion) that the mother killed her. Do you know if he's for real or is just basing his answers off past articles and had nothing to do with the actual case?

I was a just beginning my senior year at nearby Booneville High School when this happened. It’s just so tragic that this happened and this family has been denied justice and closure for so long. I hope that one day soon the truth comes to light and those responsible pay for what they did.

The author of this article: I want to thank you so much for keeping this alive for Leigh and her dad. Its a shame that the person responsible has been able to walk the streets and live their life and Leigh can't.

there was no mention of the search dogs going to the mothers car trunk numerous times even though there was not enough evidence for dna.
