Police Release New Documents in Kelly Currin Morris Case
February 26, 2009
Authorities have released a new search warrant that was recently issued for an America Online account that allegedly belongs to Kelly's husband, William "Scott" Morris.
According to the warrant, police interviewed a "good citizen" on Feb. 13, who informed them that he or she had recently purchased an item from Scott Morris via the Web site Craigslist.
"Scott provided the citizen with his phone number and when the citizen spoke with Scott, Scott told the citizen where the item was located," reads the search warrant. "The citizen went to the house at the address Scott gave the citizen ... The citizen said the man he met there was named Connie Wright and Wright lived at the location. Wright was storing items for Scott and said he was helping Scott sell some of them so Scott could pay his attorney, Jerry Clayton."
The individual who purchased the item told police that it was still in the original packaging and appeared to have be shipped to Kelly, as her name and address was printed on a label attached to the package.
"E-mails are frequently used as a means of communication, and may therefore contain information that would be valuable in this investigation, potentially generate additional leads and may therefore lead to additional evidence of the crimes of homicide and/or arson," the warrant reads. "An examination of the records and communication held by AOL.com regarding the account is needed to gather information related to this investigation."
The items to be seized were listed as search records for the AOL account, subscriber information, address books, e-mails and files from Jan. 1, 2008 to Feb. 18, 2008, and any and all user data.

Investigators have not yet released what, if anything, was found.
"Our volunteer base has diminished," search coordinator Al Mignacci said in an e-mail to Investigation Discovery. "We must get the word out on our weekly search schedule. Without your continued support we cannot. Soon, spring will be here and the vegetation will be return, making it harder to search effectively. We need all the help we can get now."
Mignacci is requesting volunteer searchers for Feb. 28 and Mar 1. Anyone interested in getting involved can receive more information by contacting the Kelly Currin Morris Command Center at 919-812-2310 or via e-mail, at: helpfindkelly@gmail.com. The command center is located at 2816 Old Weaver Trail in Creedmoor, North Carolina.
On the morning of Sept. 4, 2008, firefighters with the Stem and Providence fire departments were dispatched to a fire at the Morris's house, located at 3220 Tump Wilkins Road. The house and much of its contents were destroyed; however no one was home when the fire broke out. Kelly's husband, 34-year-old William "Scott" Morris, was allegedly at his towing business in Creedmoor and the couple's two young children, ages 8 and 5, were in school at the time of the incident. It was initially believed that Kelly was in Raleigh, where she worked for Nationwide Insurance; however, investigators soon learned that she never showed up for work that morning.
Kelly's car, a burgundy 2005 Honda Accord, North Carolina license plate TXP-5917, was later found abandoned in an undeveloped subdivision, less than a mile from her home. Inside the locked car, investigators found Kelly's keys, purse, and cell phone.
When questioned by police, Scott Morris allegedly told them that he had not seen his wife since the previous night.
On Sept. 12, 2008, the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the State Bureau of Investigation conducted forensic tests at the scene of the fire which, according to Smith, have revealed that the fire was the work of an arsonist.
The family of Kelly Currin Morris is offering a $30,000 reward for information on her whereabouts. Anyone with information is asked to call 919-812-2310.

I'm a little confused. Connie was storing items for Scott that were being sold on Craigslist to the unidentified citizen. Why couldn't the police also serve a warrant on Connie Wright's house ? If Scott was storing items at Wright's house, wouldn't that indicate that Scott had some idea that his possessions might be lost if a fire should occur? Unless everything was already sold, I suppose they could determine that from the email account? Or was he only selling items that belonged to his wife (as with the box and the shipping label bearing her name & address) knowing that she would never return?

Dear Mr. Lohr,
K. and I would like to mention a few things regarding the Kelly Morris case.
On September 19, 2008, you write, beloved friend Myra Wren, claims of knowledge of marital problems between Kelly and her husband Scott, but stated they were "nothing that would have made me think this would happen". Then on October 26, 2008, one month and a couple days later, you report her exclaiming "Domestic violence has got to stop!" Does she have first hand knowledge Kelly was murdered by her husband? Was this substantiated, or was she just being a good advocate for the next guy? Or maybe?
From our perspective, a true best friend WOULD HAVE KNOWN of a troubled marriage and WOULD HAVE known about her best friends husband’s tendencies.
Especially, if you talk 3-4 times a day. Think about it…Kelly worked? Where does all this phone time come in with kids and stuff…isn’t that pretty impossible?
This makes us speculate claims of a loving friendship are more for self comfort than real.
What is your perspective on the embellishment of friendship status?
M. & K.

M&K, who DOES think that marital problems will escalate to disappearance or murder? Very few, I'll warrant.
Lawsy, plenty of people talk to their friends or best friends several times a day/week, and it doesn't mean they're spilling their guts about how bad the mate is or how bad the situation is. And it's rare that outsiders or insiders really know what goes on behind closed doors. But why do Wren's comments rankle you so?
My best to and Kelly's family and little ones. Godspeed searchers.

Wren contradicts her statements regarding the friendship with Kelly. She plays innocent during the beginning of the crime, claiming she didn't know Kelly could have been in danger...then she swiftly morphs into victim. I just found Mr. Lohr report another contradicting statement from Wren in Daddy's Little Girl, Kelly Morris, Needs You! article. Now, she indicates her husband was allegedly very controlling, and belittling, threatening,...etc. Did she forget all of this plus the knowledge of a violent temper, when she initially claimed she "didn't know".
We will find out there is more to her in this story than first identified. Let the fun begin.

M&K's opinion was based on written documentation presented through this site. We commented on Wren's actions during her interview with reporters and followed the case from there. We continually found Wren's comments about Scott progressing from a mild to explosive nature and wondered if anyone else had noticed the inconsistencies too. Just thought I would clarify. No trouble making here. Just inquiring minds.

Lets not take the focus off the items he is selling. What is the ship date? Were they delivered and then removed from the house prior to the arson? Or could this whole thing be another one of his stunts to shift the focus?
How much have they looked into Chris? That name continues to pop up over and over again. Push chris, push his dad, hell push scott and his family...
How many lies can one man tell before we put the pieces together? He's hidding something. Come on law enforcment, detectives, bust his chops. If he will not talk...someone-somewhere will talk.
Im sure LEA and SBI are doing their homework. I know it will take time but they will put it together piece by piece, bit by bit and the guilty will face justice. Keep it up... Please dont give up on Kelly.
