Mark NeJame Press Release

Dscn1633Mark NeJame, the attorney who has been representing George and Cindy Anthony - the parents of Casey Anthony and the grandparents of Caylee Anthony - has resigned. NeJame has released the following statement about that decision:

"Unfortunately, I have made the decision that it is best not to continue my representation of George and Cindy Anthony.

"George and Cindy have a belief that their beloved granddaughter, Caylee, is still alive. Tips and leads continue to come in. I believe strongly that they should have every right to maintain their hope and faith that one of these "sightings" will miraculously be the one that brings Caylee home to them. What parent or grandparent would surrender such hope?

"Who is one person to tell another parent or grandparent when it is time for them to abandon their faith? When does a stranger have the right to judge another who has endured such a loss? The attacks made against them by some are deplorable.

"Let them be to do what they feel they must to find their beloved granddaughter, Caylee. Knowing this case as well as probably anyone on earth, there is no doubt that they do not know where Caylee is. Allow them to walk their own path.

"I only agreed to represent George and Cindy Anthony, so long as there were no restrictions placed on me whatsoever as to finding Caylee, regardless of where this might lead. Quite simply, this meant that I could do whatever I needed to find Caylee whether she was alive or not. It impressed me that George and Cindy, both believing that Caylee was still with us, had an overriding and primary concern in finding Caylee, even if the result was not as they would hope. The other condition I required was that I would have absolutely nothing to do with representing Casey or assisting in her legal defense.

"Abundant efforts have been made towards finding Caylee. I have worked with so many involved in this matter towards the goal of finding this dear, missing child who has captured the hearts of so many. Some ignorant and judgmental members of the public though have made hateful and inaccurate accusations against me and others, when they had no idea whatsoever what was really going on. As my new, good friend, Tim Miller from Equusearch, tells me 'everybody associated with this case gets body slammed.' However, like Tim, when you know in your heart that you're doing the right thing, you just move forward knowing that right will ultimately win out. Some have falsely accused me and some others of being in this for the money. If they only knew how utterly wrong and misguided they are."

"I had come to a personal opinion and theory for quite some time whether Caylee was still with us or not. However, my opinion was only one like any other - an opinion. The only person without an opinion though is Casey Anthony as only she knows the truth.

"I believe that the singular person out of the 6 billion people in the world who holds the key to finding Caylee is her mother, Casey Anthony. Although I was quite successful in resolving a multitude of matters, I am unable to go further to help George and Cindy find Caylee in my current role. I can only provide my best advice and must respect any client's prerogative to do what they deem is best, whether they choose to follow my guidance or not. However, there is little value or use I can provide to any client if they choose to act and comment at will.

"As someone who has learned and knows the inner workings and details of the case and its various characters intimately, the rampant sensationalism and unfounded accusations must stop. Allow Cindy and George Anthony the respect and decency of dealing with their hope and efforts to find their missing and beloved Caylee as they need to. Allow those with differing opinions on finding and searching for Caylee, whether she is with us or not, to do their jobs without interruption. Finally, the judicial system is in play and justice will be best served by mindless meddlers staying out of something they know little of. There are many wonderful people involved in efforts to find Caylee and there are, unfortunately, many who are exploiting this child. Sadly, most in the public are clueless about who is doing what and what is really going on. The negative actions of some are only counterproductive and hurtful to the cause of those many good people who are doing so much to do something positive with this most sad and tragic situation.

"There should only be one goal and that is to find Caylee Marie Anthony."

I have criticized NeJame. Still I know that he was the best representative the Anthony's could of had. It is a shame the Anthony's did not take full advantage of what he had to offer.

Mark NeJame earned my respect quite some time ago, but this statement has increased that respect tenfold.

Cindy Anthony is looking more and more like a big shot defense attorney every day and it's making her drunk with power. She exploits everyone's notion that she is "in denial" in order to push ahead with the killer instinct of a defense attorney zealously defending a murderer. She has done a masterful job of engaging the media with this ruse.

It's time for this case to go to the jury and let's get it done and over with. Having Casey in jail *for real* will end the huge amount of interest and speculation in this case - just as it did with Scott Peterson.

Mr. NeJame I wish you well as you move forward. All you can do is all you can do.

As Mr. Nejame tells us, "the singulat person out of the 6 billion people in the world who hold the key to finding Caylee is her mother, Casey Anthony." That is certainly true and Casey has chosen not to share that knowledge with anyone else. Also, FBI tapes released today have George Anthony admitting that Caylee never mentioned Zanni to her grandparents even though she spoke about other people that she knew, and when asked if she had fun with Zanni, after supposedly spending the day with her, Caylee never replied but just looked confused. One motive that Casey might have had for getting rid of her daughter, may have been to cover her lies. At almost age three, Caylee was rapidly developing language and could have revealed all of her mom's lies to her grandparents (no job, no nanny, sleeping on the sofa at an adult party, etc.).

NeJame was probably the best thing that happened to the Anthony's, and it really shows his credibility as a human to continually respect the Anthony's and keep the focus on Caylee. I think for the first time in my life I have been impressed with a defense attorney.

Now, please, God, let them find Caylee. Please!!

Nejame's press release is actually quite shocking coming from an attorney talking about his former client. Not the norm at all. His resignation would be unusual unless he had learned his clients broke the law by obstructing a police investigation (or worse). Just look at the wording. For goodness sake, he describes as his "new best friend" Tim Miller even though Nejame knows Miller had complained that the clients wouldn't provide items with Caylee's scent to search with. So...we've been bracing for news why this odd resignation/press release occured and here it is, already starting. Cindy obstructing an investigation by not handing over the brush used exclusively by Casey and also the Anthonys haven't even bothered to answer important follow-up questions by investigators...weeks after they were formally and urgently submitted. No wonder Nejame doesn't want to represent them anymore. If the Anthonys can help to prevent searchers from finding the body and get their leads published about "Caylee Sightings" they can create "reasonable doubt" in the minds of jurors. Mr. Lohr, folks aren't give Cindy a hard time for "believing Caylee is alive". The strident look you see on Cindy and the tears and exhaustion reveal stress at the idea of Cindy's DAUGHTER being put away for the rest of her life (or worse). She just mixes in her sadness about Caylee's death and it's all one genuine stress-out mess for her. She's on a mission to create reasonable doubt on behalf of Casey now that she can do nothing about the granddaughter she's already lost and grieves for. Now, this has nothing to do with Caylee but rather, Casey. The line has been drawn. The State of Florida is on one side, along with little Caylee. On the other side are the Anthonys - Casey and her parents and brother too.

Yesterday the REAL TRUTH came out about Cindy Anthony, I have felt all along that this grandmother knows more then she is telling, like why she REALLY washed Caylee's clothes from the trunk. COME ON, GEORGE USED TO BE A COP, like he didn't know that the clothes were evidence... I feel that Cindy has played the Media,FBI and Sheriffs office the whole time after all, Casey learned her lifestyle from someone in that family. Why shouldn't Casey continue to lie, she knows Mommy will cover for her like she always has. The time has come now since they found out she gave the FBI the wrong hair brush on purpose and wished that she had given the the DOGS TOOTHBRUSH. WHY IS SHE TRYING TO HIDE EVIDENCE IF SHE DOESN'T THINK CAYLEE IS DEAD? The time has come to stop the poor Grandmother act and hold her responsible for HER actions. The law was made for everyone to abide by. Let the law enforcement do what should be done and end this GAME.
A question that is bothering me is how are George and Cindy paying their bills if they aren't working? I think the donations given to find Caylee should come forth with how that money is being used. The TV interviews given by Cindy is just another way to earn money. What a shame she is using Caylee's death to gain the glory she is getting. I wonder if she can really cry, not on cue. I think it is time for this whole thing to stop and ONLY look for Caylee even if it means George and Cindy taking a mandatory polygraph, since neither one will take it willing, isn't that suspicious to anyone else???

It seems to me, everyone who comes to help Cindy and George Anthony stay for short time. Then for whatever reason they are no longer able to continue helping. I don't fault anyone, but maybe Cindy should let these people who come to help do just that HELP. I think the problem is as soon as anyone disagrees with Cindy on the fate of Caylee, she finds something wrong in the way they handle things. As for George, I think you can see, just by the look on his face, he knows the truth. But at this point he's not ready to disagree with his wife, at least not pubicly. Hopefully George will finally speak up, because at the rate that Cindy is going, she might very well up with a charge or two against her.

Pre-meditated murder. There is no doubt about it. Consider the following and draw the reasonable conclsions.
Internet searches on how to kill someone-household weapons, neck breaking. The abandoned car. Perhaps someone would see the handbag in the car and attempt to break into it,steal the car and be pinned for the murder. Zanny the nanny. Spoken of and made known, solely invented for the purpose and design of the alibi-when Caylee would seemingly disappear. The "month long disappearance to "search" for Caylee at Fuszion, the shovel-the smell in the car-the cadaver dogs-thelies-the showdown w/cops, the attention, the cameras..the excitement of it all, Casey!! Wake-up George and Cindy. You can still visit Casey in jail. Give your grandaughter the dignity of her recovery. You can make Casey confess. You have the power to bring the truth and simultaneously free yourselves from this horriffic burden that Casey has yoked you to. Casey will live a life in jail, but she will be alive. That thought can bring you comfort as you impress upon her to admit the truth. No doubt you have struggled wit her deceptions for her lifetime, but the truth is so essential now.
