Fight Night at Casey Anthony's House
September 06, 2008
Insane! That is the only way I know how to describe the scene outside the Anthony family home tonight.
I arrived at the residence at about 7:00 p.m. and joined the other members of the media who set up shop across the street from the house. The evening started out quiet but all that changed roughly an hour later when a group of angry protesters arrived on the scene.
The protesters, most of whom looked to be under the age of 18, stood in front of the Anthony family home and began chanting, err… screaming, "baby killer, baby killer, baby killer," over and over again.

The commotion angered some of the neighbors and a number of arguments quickly broke out. At one point an argument between one particularly angry neighbor and a protester turned violent and a fist fight broke out.

Following the fight, deputies with the Orange County Sheriff's Office arrived on the scene and calmed down the noisy protesters and the growing crowd of angry neighbors.
At about 9:30 p.m., Casey Anthony's attorney, Jose Baez, arrived at the home. He refused to speak with the media and walked into the house without saying a word.
I cannot say with 100 percent certainty that it was her; however someone with Casey Anthony's height, build and hair color peered out one of a window on two separate occasions while I was on the scene.
Things may get heated again tomorrow, as protesters are planning on holding another rally at 3:00 p.m.
I have a couple of other videos of interviews with local residents that I'll include here in another update.
I know I promised to fill you guys in on my interview with Robert Dummett, one of the search directors with Florida 3 Airboat Search and Rescue; however I don't have time to put it together right now. Instead, it will be up sometime tomorrow. I am running on 2 hours of sleep right now and I have to be up at 5:30 tomorrow to prepare for another day of searching.
Please continue to check back for updates!

I could see this coming. They should have left Casey in jail or put her somewhere else.

I THINK THE X-COP GRANDFATHER, GEORGE, HELPED CASEY GET RID OF THE BABY'S BODY. CASEY MUST HAVE CONVINCED HIM THAT IT HAD BEEN AN ACCIDENT= CLORAFORM. NOW THE FAMILY IS PROTECTING THE ALL-TOO-QUIET GEORGE PRIMARILY. GRANDMOM CINDY ANTHONY WILL BE STRAPPED TO A GURNEY AND ROLLED AWAY RAVING TO A MENTAL WARD IF SHE EVER COMES OUT OF HER FOG! I REALLY HOPE THEY DO A DNA STUDY ON BOTH BROTHER, LEE+ GRANDPA GEORGE TO SEE IF EITHER ONE IS BABY CAYLEE'S ACTUAL father<--. THEY SHOULDN'T MIND BEING TESTED ~IF IT'S NOT TRUE...
I ALSO HOPE THAT THE EQUA-SEARCH FOLKS FIND CAYLEE'S BONES- THAT WAY CASEY WILL GET "the needle" INSTEAD OF JUST LIFE IN PRISON ={if she's shows them the burial spot/fire pit}. CHECK THE ASH TRAYS AROUND THOSE PEOPLE TOO!! THEY COULD BE DISPOSING OF CAYLEE'S ASHES A LITTLE AT A TIME!

David - Those swampy areas look really scary. You are doing a great job reporting. Keep up the good work -- and you've already given us information that no one else has. You deserve a vacation and a raise! Thanks for keeping us in the loop!

I just don't see how any of this is helping find Caylee. I understand that people are angry. We all wish that Casey would just tell us all where she is or at least what happened to her, but do these protesters think that they are gonna pressure her or shame her into speaking this way. It isn't going to happen and they are wasteing all that energy screaming and fighting outside casey's house instead of joining the search and looking for caylee. It just seems to me that the focus is in the wrong place for most people. Punishing the mother instead of finding the baby. You find the baby i am positive the mother's punishment will follow!

What struck me while watching the protester videos is that almost all of these folks are just children and all have so much hate in their words and signs. Who raised these children to hate so much and where are their parents? It just really frightens me to think of what these children will grow up to be.
Their parents should be ashamed of the meanness of their offspring - fruit falls close to the tree.
Of course Casey's behavior and the evidence so far is pointing to her guilt, but we have Courts of Law to sort it out. This is reminiscent of lynch mobs and it just gives me the heebie-jeebies to think of our "civilized society" behaving this way. It may make for great television, but unfortunately, this is not a made-for-TV-movie. It's real life.
Please people, think about what you teach your children and be sure it is not to hate and throw stones but rather to inspect their own hearts and deeds.

This is such a sad situation and while the focus should be on locating Caylee's remains, it seems like everyone's focus is on Casey and the family. If her own family will not go out and search or provide information to help searchers locate the baby, then the community should just rally together, join the foot search and bring that baby home. From the way it sounds, the public cares more about locating this child then her own family. Be safe during the search David and thanks for all of the updates. As always, blessings and prayers to all of the volunteers.

Jenspal The reason why the Anthony Family is not helping with the search is because they no where little Caylee is at.. Cindy Anthony can go on National TV and say they need Volunteers while they are sitting back waiting for there next interview! If they wanted to get rid of any doubts people have, why wouldn't they all volunteer to have lie dectector tests to eliminate any doubts and go out like any normal human would do and find their child!!!I would have ran to the police made them give me a polygraph and been searching for my Child day and night.. The Anthony's all have cover up and guilt written all over them.

Why are the people protesting not helping to look for Caylee?
How is standing outside a home yelling and holding signs up helping to find Caylee?
Sure you can protest but you have to be considerate to the other people on the street. They did nothing wrong and yet their lives are just as miserable as the Anthony's. Would you like to wake up every morning to a bunch of people and TV crews all around you? Would you like to hear the profanity that comes out of some of the protesters mouths?
I hope they live in a HOA controlled neighborhood who finally puts their foot down and stops all this nonsense. And I hope the protesters find a better way to help Caylee....like actually searching for her.

This family really oozes "dysfunctional". There is so much, denial, narcassim, and total lack of judgement on every member of the family.
The brother has been quiet lately, or so it seems. Where does he live and does he have a family, a job? I'd be curious to know his story. Who knows, maybe he is the smart one who avoids the family dynamics and has made his own way???!!!! I only hope this is the case.
Why this family (George and Cindy) didn't recognize and choose to deal with CASEY'S emotional problems at an earilier age is just a SHAME. This did not just happen over night. Casey has been in the "making" for years and years. There had to have been and obviously, based on facts now known, were SIGNS, red flags of sorts, if you will. It is somewhat obvious that the lifestyle to which Casey is accustomed to- that of living a self destructive, selfish existence- is one that involved little to no, interventions. Or, at least no one addressed Casey's "issues" during critical/obvious junctures in her life. Casey apparently can not even accept or acknowledge any responsibility or accountibility for her own ill actions. Casey Anthony does not, nor does her family even live in the REAL world. This, I believe, is mainly the result of a family living a life of lie(s). George and Cindy have been covering up for their daughter's "mishaps" and "legal run-ins" for far too long. It is obvious that Cindy and George have their own narcissistic ways and their main coping skill has been "DENIAL, DENIAL, DENIAL." This is a family that could have, should have been in some sort of family counseling years and years ago. As a cop, working for the city, I'm sure George had access to mental health family benefits!!!!???
I agree with the other ladies' comment that when and if Cindy does come out of her psychotic fog of denial, she will be UNMANAGEABLE and emotionally decompensate right before our very eyes. And God be with her when this happens.
As for Casey, she does need to be sentenced to death. She appears to me to be just a "shell" of a human being, the inside-substance part of her, eroded away, lost forever. The parents are, in my opinion, accessories at this point. At least moral accessories. They know, on some level the demise Caylee faced and at whose hands or bad judgement.
In the end, I hope this serves as a message to society, and the community. Poor kids, rich kids, spoiled kids, ANYONE who chooses not to follow basic moral rules and ethics and shows a flagrant disregard to rules and humanity, in general, will suffer dyer consequences. Unfortunately, so do other innocent BYSTANDERS such as friends, family members and the COMMUNTIY who are all in the path of these persons' self destructive ways. This includes those of us who have to bear witness to the ugly, highly publicized, end result and and the gruesome aftermath. We probably are looking at a dead little girl, born of total innocence and purity, brought into this world under God only knows what circumstances and left this world under god forbid, even worse circumstances!!
I do wish PEACE on all the members of the family and community and pray that this sweet little angel, is soon grieved, buried and put to rest once and for all, in a proper and respectful fashion.
Let this be a lesson to all parents, grandparents and kids alike, that we are responsible for our own actions. And as parents and grandparents and even friends, we must teach this to others through our own actions, and choose not DENIAL. As uncomfortable as our society is in addressing these issues in our own families and friends, as soon as we recognize "WARNING SIGNS" of potential trouble in others close to us, deal with it. It will not and does not GO AWAY on it's own, it only snowballs and can lead to the mass destruction of souls, hearts, people, communities and much much more!!!

How can you help someone that won't give you any information? All we know is the nanny's name. NO INFORMATION! No car info, no relatives names, description, nothing. If you are outraged that the community is not looking for Caylee alive then why don't you give all the details. This is what's frustrating to me. I just listened to the tapes of the 911 call and Casey clearly tells 911 that she received a phone call from a number that is no longer in service, however when she talks to her brother, he questions her on the call she received from Caylee. She tells her brother clearly that the number comes up PRIVATE or private call...she can't remember. You can't call back private numbers on a cell phone. Cindy Anthony wants to get angry at ppl searching for her in the woods, lakes and parks because we all think she is dead, but that's the only information we have to go on. The FBI test results came back saying there was a dead body in the trunk of her car! So ppl have no other info to go on because this selfish mother is hemmed up in her home not speaking or sharing information.
Questions for anyone that can shed light.
1. All the news stories indicate this "Stain" that they found in the back of the car. Why haven't they indicated what this stain is or do you think they are waiting?
2. Did or can they police take the clothes that were found in her car that her mother washed and check for blood stains or any other kind of stain that by washing will not let you get out.
3. Was any of her friends ever in the car? If the body was in the car don't you think that the body would send off an odor through out the car?
4. Did they actually find a bag of pizza that had magets?
Just wondering. I am planning to go to Florida

I think the reason they are sticking close to home and not helping with the search is because that baby is still in that house somewhere. Some of her might have been in the car, some of her may have been in the yard and burt to ashes, but pieces/parts of her at that house somewhere and that's why Casey's comments about her being close to home, and George and Cindy never leave the house. Why should they be out looking is right when they know exactly where she is. She's there somewhere!

You are way off base about the paternity question. I believe that Casey doesn't KNOW who the father is, if her later behavior is any indication of how she ran her life. She made up a sympathetic story about the father to cover up her promiscuity. Her mother pressured her to keep the child when Casey was obviously not ready or fit to be a mother. I believe that Caylee's death was probably a result of some kind of abuse and then Casey's parents have helped cover it up after becoming aware of her death. Bleach and ammonia together can form a chloroform like gas and these were probably used in the trunk of Casey's car to attempt to clean up a large blood stain (shows up under black light as reported). I believe that Caylee's remains are under the recently poured concrete paver in the Anthony's backyard, which is why the cadaver dogs alerted there. Casey borrowed the neighbors' shovel to bury her under the playhouse next to the pool, hence the recently turned dirt. A tall fence surrounds the yard allowing Casey the privacy to bury the body. When George and Cindy discovered the truth they quickly covered the spot with concrete. Clues are being discovered in the search area bacause these are places Casey went (cell phone pings and sightings) to discard evidence.

I agree with the posters here who are against the protesters. I think they are making themselves look foolish. What is standing outside the house yelling going to do except make you look like an ignorant fool. Is rubbing salt into the wound really going to make Caylee come home any quicker, is it going to make Casey crack? NO. All it is doing is upsetting the neighborhood and just creating more of a circus atomosphere to the case. It's okay to have an opinion and voice it, but yelling like a maniac in front of the Anthony's home accomplishes nothing. Either go out and search for Caylee or go home and be with the ones you really care about.

Amy they would find more details if people actually LOOKED for Caylee.
How is protesting helping to find Caylee in anyway?
Protesting in a situation like this does no good, Casey is not going to come out of the house and tell the protesters where Caylee's body is. Actually getting out there and helping to find clues would help the case tremendously.
Eqqusearch is begging for help and yet the numbers keep dwindling. The protesters would do a lot more good for Caylee if they went out and searched for her body rather than rant and rave outside her mother's house.
Her mother obviously didn't care about Caylee and it looks like neither does the people of Orlando.
Posted by: TC | September 06, 2008 at 02:48 PM
The protesters remind me of a lynching mob. Whether Casey or her parents are responsible for Caylee's disappearance, the mobs are not helping.
I believe that Casey is responsible but this hysteria is just solidifying her parents' defense of her and stroking her ego.
Posted by: flutter1 | September 06, 2008 at 03:33 PM
When all is said and done, Casey will be exonerated and Cindy and George will go down as TRUE heroes for defending their innocent daughter, and helping to catch a crazed group of conspirators, led by Zenaida Fernandize-Gonzalous!
In the mean time every one should go door to door demanding to search their neighbors homes, no matter what part of the country you live in. It's your duty!

How come the police haven't dug up the concrete in the Anthony's backyard yet if it is a recent addition? Do the Anthony's have to give them permission to do that? And if they are innocent then they would let them. But then again why didn't they give the searches an item with Caylee's scent on it? Just wondering....

Re: Fight Night at Casey Anthony's House
Ha! Figures that would happen the night you show up to blog it. Something tells me these people were there less about the case, and more just to make some kind of news. Personally, all of this demonstrating in front of the house leaves a bad taste in my mouth. Go demonstrate for Darfur if you feel a need to protest something. No matter what we might think about Casey and her family, this feels like it's just a way for people to be a part of the story and watch themselves later. Kind of like that strange little man who visited Casey in jail early on.

I agree with you....protesting will not help the situation only create other trouble. I understand that the people in the community are outraged. Take that energy and time to help search for Caylee.
I have a planned trip to Orlando, FL, September 18th. I will donate some of my time to help search if she is not found. I believe that Jay Blanchard park is a significant place to look. Casey keeps mentioning this park and could be a possible place where she lost that mysterious cell phone that the nanny called her on. I am sure police have checked the ATT store where she says she purchased it at? Which in my mind is probably another lie. This park is also "close to home" in which she keeps mentioning.
It sickens me to the fullest...how can her father being an former cop believe this kind of story. I am sure in his lifetime he has had to interragate people to get to the bottom of a crime. Why can't he put his skills to use now? He has to know this story is so bogus. Lee sounds like he is somewhat on the fence. I just don't understand why they are being so composed when talking to her? I can't say "if that were me I would"...but dang..your granddaughter/niece is MISSING your daughter/sister has the info. At what point do you continue to put up with the story and not want to break down and go off on her?
I feel when Casey has nobody left to support her, she will confess. Right now she has supporters...people who believe her lies...people on "Her side"...people to boost her up. Take all that away and she won't know what to do.

I am responding to those that think protesting is a waste of time. My 13 year old and I went there yesterday for about 1 hour. I don't agree with being hateful and yelling things (I totally disagree with them yelling at Lee), but I myself prayed for Caylee and for Casey to tell the truth. I stood there for Caylee because it doesn't seem like anyone in that family is trying to stand up for her. I stood there for justice and as an outraged mother. I stood there because in this country I can do that. I stood there because I want to let them know what they are doing is wrong. That is why I protested.
Posted by: Bonnie | September 07, 2008 at 02:26 PM
Ok Bonnie you wanted to stand up for Caylee right? So how is standing outside a house helping? How is that standing up for Caylee? Why didn't you and your daughter go out and search for Caylee? Wouldn't that be standing up for Caylee? Wouldn't that have been more productive? Wouldn't that help find Caylee faster rather than standing outside of a house?
The family knows what they did was wrong, and you standing outside their house isn't going to do a bit of good.
Posted by: TC | September 07, 2008 at 05:08 PM
You said: The family knows what they did was wrong, and you standing outside their house isn't going to do a bit of good.
I say: No, I don't think they do. I believe in the power of prayer and for the hour I had to devote to Caylee, I felt it was most feasible (for me) and best spent praying for her and standing up for her. Today in church the reading from the Bible said if someone is going against God (I am paraphrasing here) you should tell them and it is your duty to tell them, so I feel like I've done that in my own way.
Now, I don't agree with spending all kinds of hours protesting. If I lived there and had the time, I definitely would join the search instead of standing outside her home. Some of those protestors seem media hungry, I must admit. The guy with the doll was ridiculous, I think. The protestors should be peaceful if they are going to be there.
Posted by: Bonnie | September 07, 2008 at 08:47 PM
Bonnie,
I do understand you more but I still don't see the point in standing outside a home and protesting.

How can Tim Miller of Equusearch and the volunteers ever be successful in finding Caylee???? Casey and that whole Anthony Family have been uncooperative and won't give any information to where to start looking for Caylee. Orlando is a very big area and who knows where Casey went traveling in that car and that is why she ran out of gasoline! Her car was running on empty tank and that's why Casey parked her car at Amscot! Casey is the one holds the key to Caylee's whereabouts and am sure she's getting such a big kick at people running around in circles looking for the little girl!!!
If the grandparents and brother Lee were so very concerned about Caylee, they would have interrogated Casey day and night until she 'fessed up!!! What really disturbs me is the way they have approached this situation...they are very lackadaisical, lethargic, and easy going. THey haven't been out there with the volunteers...they have been sitting inside their air conditioned home, ranting and blasting on tv about the public not helping find the little girl, and being paid big bucks for tv interviews, book and movie deals!!! Why can't they interrogate Casey and demand where Caylee is. The volunteers sure don't know where Caylee is ..Casey is the only one who holds the answer!

To Amy-Indiana on Sept. 6th.....I commend you for giving an hour of your busy life to make a stand for Caylee even if it was just for an hour outside the parents home.
Those of you who don;t appreciate her doing something to put pressure on the mother who doesn;t even give a bit of a damn about her own daughter, I think those who does something, anything to let the family know that there are so many that cares about this innocent baby's disappearance has given of their hearts tremendously. God bless you all who are searching and protesting.....your kindness and thoughtfulness and love for this child hasn;t gone unnoticed.
