Read the Alleged Bigfoot DNA Email
August 15, 2008
What follows is text from an email that Curt Nelson, a University of Minnesota biologist, allegedly sent to Tom Biscardi, Chief Executive Officer of Searching for Bigfoot, Inc., after he completed DNA tests on three samples that were purportedly taken from the deceased Bigfoot creature.

Tom,
DNA was purified from the tissue [redacted] brought to me, and from human cells (positive control), and the DNA from the sample and the control human cells was reacted with three sets of primers designed to amplify (make copies of) human or chimpanzee mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA), two of the three primer pairs worked - produced DNA segments of the size predicted for human/chimp DNA. The third primer failed, even with the positive control (human) sample, so the failure was only a technical one.
The amplified DNA segments produced in the PCR reactions - two from the tissue sample and two from the human control cells - were sequenced from both ends using each of the primers used in their amplification. The human control sample sequences were 100% human as expected. One of the DNA segments from the tissue sample was also 100% human (about 500 base pairs). The other DNA segment was an apparent mix of DNA sequence. However, the DNA sequence interpreted by the sequencing computer algorithm indicates at least a 96% match to Didelphis virginiana - a possum.

The first photo is a blurry still frame image that Biscardi handed out to the media during the press conference. The video, Biscardi claimed, was taken two months ago in a Georgia forest.
The second photo, also provided by Biscardi, shows the mouth of the dead creature, something which Biscardi said should "prove to all of you people that it is not just a mask."

Where in the email does Curt Nelson say the possum DNA is "probably something the creature ate" as we are seeing reported all over the internet?
What these two hoaxers need to understand is that when they spin a story like this and nobody is fooled, they are the ones who look dumb.

This hoax would have worked if they used ACTUAL Bigfoot DNA and found an ACTUAL Bigfoot body!!LOL I don't get how they thought this would have fooled anybody. They would have known what samples handed over would be have this outcome. Is there a movie coming out soon?

Don't be fooled by the Main Stream Media spin on this story. Of course they wanted it to be a hoax. The fact that the real big foot has been found means that Evolution is the real hoax. You can bet that the "scientific community" found a way to destroy the real body and substitute a rubber costume. Don't be fooled by the MSM.

What is a "DNA segment"?
Is it the whole DNA chain?
Can 2 different species (related e.g.: human - ape) have some of those "segments" identical? What about 96% similar?
Does one of the segments being 100% human mean the rest of the segments are equally different?
Is 1 out of 3 tests ending up in "technical error" a trusted test method? Is that the FBI level of accuracy? Would they accept 66% of reliability on the technical process to take a person to the death penalty?
Thanks.
Thanks.
