Sources Claim Caylee Anthony DNA Test Results Are Accurate

August 28, 2008

Caylee AnthonyDuring today's press conference, Captain Angelo L. Nieves was evasive when questioned about DNA test results in the Caylee Anthony case. Instead, Nieves suggested that the results, which he described as "preliminary", were still being evaluated.

Earlier today, a source close to the investigation told Investigation Discovery that tests conducted on both a stain and hair samples found in the trunk of the car Casey Anthony was driving indicate that Caylee is dead. The source who provided that information to ID maintains that it is factual and accurate.

Local6.com is now reporting that they have confirmed similar information about the hair samples. An article on their Website reads in part:

"Hair samples found in the trunk of Casey Anthony's car are definitely that of her daughter, Caylee, and the hair samples do show signs of decomposition, Local 6 confirmed Thursday."

Investigators have yet to publicly comment on the test results.
