Caylee Anthony is Dead
August 28, 2008
According to sources close to the investigation, DNA tests that were conducted on a stain and hair samples found in the trunk of the car Casey Anthony was driving indicate that her daughter, 3-year-old Caylee Anthony, is dead.
This latest news comes as little shock after yesterday's revelation that test results of air samples that were taken from the car allegedly show that a decomposing human body had been inside the trunk.
Meanwhile, the state prosecutor's office has refused to comment on the partial immunity deal that has been offered to Anthony. Yesterday, it was reported that the deal would expire in 24 hours; however the deadline is now being reported as Tuesday. Anthony did meet with her attorney today but they have yet to comment on whether they are considering the deal.
As a result of these most recent developments, bounty hunter Leonard Padilla and his nephew, Tony Padilla, have announced that they intend to revoke Anthony's bond. According to published reports, the Padilla's have already started working on revocation paperwork, which could result in Anthony being placed back behind bars later today.
ID will continue to follow this story as it develops.

People.
When Casey tries to give her "compelling" lie of a story as to "what really happened to Caylee"-DON'T U DARE BELIEVE IT.
She will turn her story around to make herself some victim.
She will claim that "someone threatened her if she reported her dead daughter to the polie".
Well let me just tell you all this-
LETS JUST GET FARFETCHED HERE, and pretend that her story did indeed happen.--
--DOES THAT STILL JUSTIFY HOW SHE REACTED [or..DIDN't react I should say] TO HER DEAD DAUGHTER; HER PARTYING AND HAVING SEX WITH MANY GUYS AND DRESSING UP ALL THE TIME AND ..ALMOST..ACTING AS IF, SHE IN A SICK SENSE..WAS...PLEASED AT THE LOSS OF HER DAUGHTER??--*RIGHT* AFTER HER DAUGHTER DIED?!?!
I HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN HAPPY ENOUGH TO GO OUT PARTYIN THIS LAST YEAR, AND I WASN'T THE ONE WHO LOST A CHILD!!!!
PLEASE, PEOPLE, DO-NOT-BELIEVE-CASEY'S-LIES!!
IT'S THE PEOPLE LIKE Y'ALL WHO MUDDY THE WATERS OF THIS CASE, AND MAKE CASEY'S PUNISHMENT LESS AND LESS HARSH EVERY TIME Y'ALL GIVE HER THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT.
STOP!!
WHATEVER SHE TELLS THE COPS NOW, SHE COULD'VE EASILY TOLD THEM BEFORE-MY POINT BEING-IT WILL ALL BE LIES BC THAT IS HER LANGUAGE; LYING.
SOCIOPATHS GET A HIGH OUT OF LYING.
SOCIOPATHS LIE UNTIL STUCK IN A CORNER, AND EVEN WITH PROOF ON A PLATTER UNDER THEIR NOSE-THEY STILL WILL DENY THINGS BC THEY ARE...WELL...PSYCHO!

Diana, there is supposed to be a press conference later today. John

Casey Anthony is guilty of all current charges and is guilty of 1st degree murder, manslaughter or involuntary manslaughter among other charges!
And I am 100% positive that Casey's parents are guilty of covering it up, and possibly other charges.
I hope all guilty parties rot in hell!
Caylee Marie Anthony: May God bless you. You are in a better place now.
Posted by: Pedro | August 28, 2008 at 01:18 PM
I think her parents are part of it all and are covering up for her....she needs to have no deal and be charged with capital murder for knowing and lying all this time
Posted by: Debra Barlow | August 28, 2008 at 01:21 PM
Yes, at this point, we are not to believe anything else that Casey says or tries to explain away. She will say it was an accident even if it wasn't. And maybe it WAS an accident, but how will we ever really know for sure? This is so very sad.
Posted by: 007 | August 28, 2008 at 01:24 PM
I feel bad for Padilla. I DO think he had good intentions. He did admit hind sight that he made a mistake. I think he's a good guy.
Posted by: 007 | August 28, 2008 at 01:28 PM
Casey will come forward with information that the baby sitter borrowed her car for a few days and the baby sitter killed her daughter. Casey Anthony will never admit to killing her daughter.
Posted by: tommy | August 28, 2008 at 01:34 PM
I also think her parents knew the whole time and are covering up for her. This is very disturbing; all the evidence points to murder or at least covering up a death. That in itself is a crime. Even if poor Caylee died accidentally, doing what Casey did is punishable and I hope justice prevails. It was so obvious from the beginning.
Posted by: Angie | August 28, 2008 at 01:36 PM
Why is it the parents are assumed guilty of anything? It was the mother who called 911 and busted her own daughter out just trying to get to the bottom of things...and Casey
s father is devestated over this loss. Get off your judgement pedestal!
Posted by: Karen | August 28, 2008 at 01:36 PM
To Tommy: Yes, that is the type of story we can expect.
Posted by: 007 | August 28, 2008 at 01:41 PM
How very sad.
I don't think Casey will ever admit to killing her daughter or what really happened to her, lead detectives to her body or anything.
She is too wrapped up in herself.

No deal should be given to such a cold hearted CHILD.{ She certainly doesn't deserve to be referred to as an adult} With so many people willing to raise this poor little girl this never should have happened.

It is no surprise. At times like this I wish I had a tv to watch the press conference. That, or I wish I could take off, drive the 6 hours to Florida and join the mob that will be waiting for this monster to be escorted back to jail. Way to go, Padilla. And you argured with Greta over "eating your money". Again I say, no surprise here, only anger. I am not the only poster here who has lost a child. I am not the only one here who would have loved that beautiful, intelligent little girl. To know that this mother killed her makes me a much bigger fan of the death penalty. The secrets eventually end. The lies eventually tell the truth. A lie is only words when DNA evidence is fact. In this case, the truth does not set you free, it only locks you up. Thank God. Now we can let Caylee go and focus on prosecuting that monster. Now Caylee can rest. Oh, Casey will get hers. The system doesn't look fondly on child killers. Even if they can find a body and give her the death penalty, she gets to live with other prisoners for a good long while. I said before, eve criminals have morals, and they aren't just going to let a child killer walk among them.
Posted by: aj | August 28, 2008 at 01:46 PM
Casey needs to end this charade, but she still thinks if she keeps her mouth shut she's going to get out of this--no body no crime. The police will never find that poor girl's body because Casey is a skilled liar who doesn't know how to tell the truth.
If she didn't want her baby she should have given her up for adoption. I can't have kids and I would have loved to have a pretty little girl like Caylee for a daughter.

I think the Padilla clan should be charged with being major jerks & exported back to CA. Their only purpose here was to get their few days of fame.
As for Caylee, I think we've all known all along & we all grieve. I certainly believe in accountability for our own actions, but I can't help (as a mother & grandmother) feeling tremendous grief for Casey & her parents also. I'm not condoning or excusing. I wish we could all learn what it really means to have & care for & raise a baby before we end up having one.
You have to get a license for a car or boat but not to bring a vulnerable, delicate life into the world. In any case, I'm praying for them all.
Posted by: terry | August 28, 2008 at 01:49 PM
She has said nothing but lies, she has had a decomposing body in the truck of her car. Why are people still asking her or wanting her to talk? If her daughter is alive she would be doing everthing in her power as a mother to find this little girl and she is still not talking. Say she is alive. This is all over the new so if Casey were to say something now what would the people or person that has her do now? Everything is out so just say something chance it and get your daughter back. Oh that's right her decomposing body was in the truck of the car.
Posted by: Sadie | August 28, 2008 at 01:49 PM
Would anyone be caring if Caylee was an ugly, black baby? The little white girl was cute, so the media takes the story and runs with it. The mother is a murderer, but she is pretty sexy.
Posted by: roger d | August 28, 2008 at 01:50 PM
Again, no surprise here. When Casey abandoned her mother's car, she left her purse on the front seat. She clearly wanted someone to steal the car so that the evidence in the trunk would never be found. Mom Cindy helped in the coverup, intentionally or otherwise, by washing Casey's stinky clothes that had been left in the car. I hope Padilla is successful in revoking her bail bond. In light of all the threats being received at the Anthony household, jail is probably the safest place for her. Casey should also be considered a suicide risk, assuming she has any conscience at all about what happened to Caylee.

IS SHE SAYING THAT IT WAS OK FOR HER TO TAKE THE LIFE OF CAYLEE?
Posted by: DIANE | August 28, 2008 at 01:59 PM
This poor little girl. She is going to get beat up in jail everyday for what she's done to her child! The least she could do is say where her childs body is..
Posted by: Stayc | August 28, 2008 at 02:04 PM
I am glad Padilla got her out. Jail is a great place to avoid reality. Now, that her parents are aware of all the body farm and fbi findings, Caylee cant "deny visits" - run off to her boyfriends or hang up the phone. She has to face reality. Let her hear the wails of sorrow coming from her parents..as they mourn the loss of their only grandchild. The Jig is up, she must come clean. They will confront her and demand to know where that baby's body is...so, they can find her- give her a proper buriel and put closure to this terrible nightmare.

I'm furious when I hear talk of a deal for Caycee! If the evidence is there who needs to hear more lies from this woman! The facts are is she has lied from day one!! Every lie turns into another one.. She will have to face God one day and he knows the truth no matter how hard she trys to cover it up. I'm to the point to all I want to hear about this case is she is in jail. She has made everyone suffer enough. Caylee many people have fell in love with such a precious child my heart knows that you are at peace.
Posted by: Paige | August 28, 2008 at 02:09 PM
If you ask me...she has done a heck of a job of creating a case for not "guilty by mental defect" for any competent attorney...especially given the bizarre nature of her actions etc....not that I am in favor of this happening...but she'll get a super lawyer pro-bono...trying to make precedent...*ribbits*
Posted by: TYano | August 28, 2008 at 02:09 PM
Can someone please tell me.Without a body I don't think they can convict her, right?? I do think she's dead, mom did it and it wasn't no accident. Why lie so much if it was?

somewhere in comments was a remark stating that her new tattoo (after Caylee was "missing") of "Bella Vita" may have a more meaning than just what a beautiful life Miss Casey was enjoying at the expense of Mommy Dearest's credit card debt she incurred ($45,000) and her new freedom from the bondage of parenting.
Searching the web for "Bella Vita + Florida" one immediately finds:
Bella Vita - luxurious condominiums located in Naples, Florida. www.bellavitanaples.com/
The poster had mentioned that the tattoo may be a hint to "where" Florida's Number One Great Mom may have manufactured a "safe" place for Caylee's resting place.

You know, in an ironic way, I can understand why in that jailhouse call with her mother, Casey remarked that no one cared about her, they were all more concerned about Caylee. Face it, Caylee's mom, in her own selfishness, never cared enough for her her own child to teach her self-respect, self-love. A girl who truly felt loved and cared about wouldn't be constantly seeking validation from every guy she could spark interest in. Her mom never cared enough about the integrity of her child to put a stop to her child's lies by making light of it (it's not illegal to lie) and continually believing the ever crazy lies that Casey made up. And if she truly cared about what was best for her grand daughter AND her daughter, SHE would have been the one to suggest adoption. Instead of providing her child with "tough love" she picked up after all of Caylee's messes and continually bailed her out, and I think it is so that "she" (the mother) could be the victim and the attention would be on her (hence Casey's remark about her mom's "cameo"). That poor grandmother/mom, who always had to bail her daughter out and who selflessly "raised" her own daughter's grand-child, despite her daughter's "jealousy". Perhaps it is because Casey's daugher was probably treated better than her own daughter, Casey? I'm not denying that it is HEINOUS that Casey Anthony took the life of her own child, but I am possibly angrier at Cindy Anthony for not caring enough about Casey to instill values in her child.

My husband and I were talking about this case weeks ago before all the updates, before the conclusion. He said that back in his college days he cleaned out his car and found a few old pieces of a supreme pizza (lots of meat on that). He said he found it and was only hard, a little moldy. It didn't smell. He didn't even know it was in there until he found it or how long it had been there. Do the Anthonys think the rest of the general public is stupid? So now Casey has what she wants- all of the attention. Now that we know Caylee is dead, we can focus on how to prosecute her. She won't want any more attention by the time we're done.
Posted by: aj | August 28, 2008 at 02:18 PM
I believe that Cindy Anthony has acted out of denial. I can think of times where I have been deceived by someone(for example a boyfriend)and pure logic tells me that the words are complete lies but I have to believe them for self-preservation. The problem is that laundering clothing and telling stories of decayed pizzas has confounded and delayed the investigation. I suppose by law "innocent until guilty" is presumed but how much more incriminating does this have to get? Are we looking at a family for whom truth is whatever you can get away with?
Posted by: Mary | August 28, 2008 at 02:18 PM
I am a 50 year old grandmother of 3 grandsons. I think the grandparents know more also, I keep hearing what a bad situation Cindy and George are in, there is NO WAY i would try to protect my daughters if i had any feelings that they had harmed one of my 3 angels. Cindy you should have stucked to your first 911 call( you knew then didn't you?) America has ben watching this from the first day, hoping and praying that, this little angel was still with us. Casey may you be tormented for the rest of your life here on earth. And there is going to be a lot of people very upset if this evil mother does not get charged with first degree MURDER.
Posted by: Tammy in Texas | August 28, 2008 at 02:20 PM
I applaud the grandmother for calling 9-1-1. It is her behavior since that disgusts me. I think that at first their intentions were noble. They found out or strongly suspected something terrible happened to their granddaughter and went into "confusion mode" in an attempt to save their daughter.
If the mother is convicted of murder I wonder of the grandparents could be charged with interferring with the investigation?
The truth always wins. It may take months or years, but it wins!
Posted by: triggerfish | August 28, 2008 at 02:20 PM
I, too, wonder if Casey Anthony's parents will be charged with something like conspiracy after the fact, or obstruction of justice in this case.
On the one hand, I feel sorry for them because they've lost a granddaughter and, in a sense, a daughter, and have to come to grips with a nightmare beyond anyone's comprehension, but, on the other hand, they've had ample time to reconsider their part in this mess and to do the right thing. The sad thing is they've really only made it worse for their daughter in the long run.
Posted by: Nora | August 28, 2008 at 02:20 PM
Why are the parents guilty? They have been involved in covering up what happened to their grandchild as soon as they figured out that Casey killed her. They have destoryed evidence from Casey's car and from their house before the police arrived. That have changed their stories almost as offen as Casey. They have reported unfounded sightings of Caylee and arrange for these gatherings for Caylee while their guilty daughter sits in their home watching herself on TV and I beleive that the Grandparents have done all this just to add confusion to the facts of this case. I thhink they should be charged with impeding a police investigation and giving false statements to the police. I think the whole bunch of them are a sandwich short of a picnic.
Posted by: WP | August 28, 2008 at 02:22 PM
While the tests inside the car revealed presence of decomposing human body the DNA itself has not been released as being in fact Caylee's. However it seems unlikely that Casey had another dead body in her trunk. That said,Casey is incredibly young and seems to exhibit the same personality traits of another well known killer, Scott Peterson ring a bell? I was really hoping that Casey was just stupid and actually gave her child away and instead of telling her parents when she did it waited and now is too afraid to admit that she was tired of being a young mom and gave her away. No child should suffer like this no child should ever suffer at the hands of those who God entrusted them too. Is is dead? it seems all to likely that she is in fact gone from this earth. Casey deserves to be punished but her parents have responsibility here too, they played into her lies and given they live close by it seems odd that they would wait so long to report Caylee missing. I still think they know.

During the first weeks of this case, Casey stated that the "babysitter" lived in an apartment, provided the apartment complex name as well as the apartment number. Investigators went to the complex, and of course discovered another lie. The babysitter did not live there, but the apartment complex log shows that someone with the "babysitters" name did go to the apartment office and apparently asked to see one of the available apartments. After it was discovered that the babysitter did not live there and the apartment had been vacant for over a year, nothing else was said about it.
Does anyone know if the apartment was ever investigated and looked at as a possible crime scene? If Casey did in fact pose as the "babysitter" and was shown that apartment, she could have easily slid something in the doorway to make the door stay unlocked, or she could have unlocked a window, or even gave a sob story to the complex employee saying she was homeless and just needed a shower.....there are several different things that could have happened in order for that apartment to be available for Casey's use. A vacant apartment, a fake name, a shower, a place where she could be alone....I'm no expert, but it sounds like the perfect place to commit a murder to me. And even take a shower afterwards.

Ok, so after reading all of the documents, I now have no doubt she is fully aware of where her daughter is. As of today, I assume that she is in a better place.
How is it that she can give a sworn statement that she dropped her child off on June 9th (a lie), so she could go to work (a lie), and yet there are pictures of Caylee on June 15th, with Cindy's mom?
She has been so adament that she dropped her off on the 9th and never saw her again. Yet, her mother magically found her on Father's day to take her to see Caylee's great grandfather and then what dropped her off with Zanny the Nanny, later that day - a woman she denies exists and by all accounts does not exist?
Since she has already admitted to lying about having a job, stealing money, since she didn't have any - why would she need to drop her almost three year old daughter off at a babysitter?
That bailbondsman needs to revoke her bail. I'm not exactly sure what she has done to aid this investigation, to warrant her need to be out in public.
It's very sad that Casey has grown up to believe that she can behave this way and get away with it. Whether her parents are involved is not for me to judge, but certainly they have enabled and fostered an environment for a very sick individual to exist.
Posted by: Melissa | August 28, 2008 at 02:31 PM
I just hope and pray that this woman is punished to the fullest. The next step in this insane story will be that she didn't do it, someone else did or that it was an accident or yada yada. Maybe Grandma and Grandpa can now figure out something to tell the press concerning the latest discovery in Caseys trunk and how it got there. Surely their darling daughter had nothing to do with it. Maybe the good that will come out of this story will be that parents will make sure that their children are always responsible for their own actions. Rest in peace littly Caylee.

I can not stop following this I am glue to the tv waiting. I am sick, I had a feeling she was dead. Casey is a sick ind. who need alot of help. There should be no imunity at all, even if it was a terrible accident and she did not mean it as some are speculating. She waited to long to tell her story. What she has done to her parents is wrong. Why didn't she just give caylee to them and leave. She is sick sick sick. It seems to me she is thriving on the attention. Can you believe the other day the new and the coverage of her going to her lawyers officed wearing that t-shirt with Caylee's picture on it, knowing she was gone. She should rot in jail. Anyway I am so mad I am probably not making sense. All I can say is that God has her and she well taken care of now.

How sad that her parents have allowed and condoned her bad behavior for years. They allowed her to be a "Mother" when it was clear that she never was capable of that. Casey appears to have always been a liar, selfish, unfit, immoral, theif, druggie, and just plain trash. Yet, her parents knew this and allowed her to "care" for this little ANGEL. They have allowed her to go thru life as unproductive human waste, resulting in the death of a sweet, trusting loving 3 year old,who only needed to be loved. God help her,and her "loyal" family..good job Mom and Dad, all of you should rot in HELL

I was so in hopes of a good outcome. that maybe the real father had stepped in and taken her to live with his family. I know that she says he is dead but what about the other lies. I read somewhere that the father could be Jesse Grund. Do you think she will admit anything now? God bless little Caylee in her short time and we all know she is in a better place.

Alot of you are saying she'll get hers in jail, WELL She Wont! I work for the prison system and I can bet she'll be placed in protective custody because of the case being such a huge profile case.
